Great food and service
The food was delicious and service was amazing - very attentive and kind! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet Italian spot
Lovely, intimate Thanksgiving dinner where we truly felt at home. Delicious four course meal of Italian favorites. Left stuffed and happy.
Just great! Had a perfect meal the other night. Pappardelle with lamb ragu, buffala mozzarella with tomatoes and then sea bass, simply prepared and perfectly done. They also have a very nice wine list with good wines at reasonable prices.
The restaurant was super clean, the reception of our family was warm and friendly, the food was fresh, had awesome flavor and was prepared to our individual wants and desires. From the mouth watering appetizers, to the personalized entrees right through to the desserts that left us wanting the experience to not end, this was a great place for a date night, family dinner ( us :) ), or a random I want some truly authentic Italian fare, this is truly a gem of NYC.
Excellent as always
This is our neighborhood go to place, food is always excellent, staff and owners lovely, friendly and helpful. Everyone we take there always goes back
Excellent food and service. It's like dining with family and friends. Whenever we go to the City we go to Nocello's
The food was excellent, presented beautifully and the portions were generous. The host was also very gracious and pleasant. My only disappointment was in the service. Four different servers asked us if we heard the specials within a couple minutes of each other. It seemed very disjointed... as if they didn't have specific assignments or didn't communicate with each other. I certainly would go here again but they need to step it up on their service for sure.
Nocello is a true find, if you are looking for a restaurant with delicious food, attentive service, and quiet ambiance in the theatre district. All of these are hard to come by in this busy area, especially on a Saturday night. This was our second time at the restaurant and no doubt we will return often.
Congratulations to all for a great dining experience.
Excellent dining option near the theater district! Good food, service and ambiance!
we had a wonderful dinner at Nocello. A fun return after 15 years!! Everything was as good as always.
Unfortunately we had six loud guys at the next table - but it was perfect after they left!!
Excellent restaurant! Very good food, professional service, lovely decor. One of the best pre-theater dinners I have had in a long time. Highly recommend. Worth some effort to go.
Great food wonderful service... not to be missed
We loved the fact that we were seated immediately ( even if our full party was not there) and asked if we were seeing a show ( for time constraints). The waitstaff was attentive, food fabulous, and the 4 of us remarked that the acoustics were comfortable and enabled soft conversation!
One of the best Italian restaurants in Manhattan. I try never to miss a visit there whenever I am in New York!. It is truly superb.
My favorite New York City restaurant. Great menu, awesome specials and complimentary wine list. Their lobster and shrimp special is outstanding. Service is excellent with friendly servers. We love Nocello’s after the Philharmonic or before the theater. A great family restaurant.
We've been to Nocello many time and we've never been disappointed. This time, we were delayed and arrived 40 minutes after our reservation time. They accommodated us and got us fed and out the door in time. My only regret is that we didn't have a chance to relax over coffee and dessert at one of my favorite restaurants.
We have dined at Nocello several times and each time was better than the previous! The menu is extensive and delicious, the waitstaff is accommodating, the price is reasonable. I will eat here whenever I am in the area.
Food was better than I remembered. Specials were interesting. Service was efficient and professional. We will be back!
Charming service and wonderful food. Everything we had was perfectly cooked. It was great fun to watch the staff expertly and graciously manage the busy Saturday night crowd. Will definitely return!
Food was good but VERY salty. I had to ask multiple times for water. Service was slow and inconsistent. There appeared to be several “regulars” there with whom the staff spent a lot of time. There are so many similar restaurants in the area and this one did not stand out as superior
Great, intimate, personable, dependable pre-theater spot.
Food was good and served promptly. Tables are too close together and the noise is unbearable!
We have eaten in 1 Nocello many times and each time we enjoy a wonderful meal served by a hard working wait staff and a truly wonderful kitchen staff. The place is warm and welcoming and wonderful.
Enjoy!
We were a party of four for dinner before the theater. We were seated promptly, everyone received menus and a wine list for the table. The waiter offered to help us chose a wine and we followed his suggestion, which was delightful. The courses were brought in a timely manner and everything was delicious. All at the restaurant were pleasant and helpful. we planto return the next time we are in the neighborhood.
Everything was delicious as usual! The service was great and the staff was very attentive. The restaurant feels like home away from home!
Always wonderful. Food, ambiance and service. The owners make you feel so welcome as if you were a regular.
Valentines Day
Excellent as usual. We’ve been coming here for a number of years.
We've been here multiple times. When the reservation was made two weeks before Valentine's Day there was no mention of a Prix Fixe menu. That's what happens on Valentine's Day, unbeknownst to us. The portions were small and not what we had experienced in the past (been here at least 5 times in the last few years). Mussels appetizer had about 10 small mussels - not what they typically serve. File of sole, while good, was a very small portion and the dessert was minimal, less than what you would get a wedding. With a bottle of wine and tip, $200+ - sorry it wasn't worth it this time.
We were there pre-theater so it was early and it was quiet which is a pleasure when dining. We had been there before again before going to the theater and loved it so we came back. The food was excellent and not overpriced. I would recommend to anyone.
Excellent dining experience. Food was delicious & noise level very desirably low. Wonderful ambiance, great for theatre goers & located near Carnage Hall.
My friend recommended Nocello for my Moms birthday dinner! Incredible food, wine and service. I will certainly be back but in the meantime I will return the favor and recommend to my friends!
Nocello gets better and better every time i go there.
Was a good Italian restaurant not far from City Center. Good waiters!
We went with friends, and all 4 of us loved our food. The menu has quite a nice selection, and the ambiance is lovely. Very dark (maybe even a bit too dark) but romantic. If this restaurant were closer to where we lived, we would be there on a regular basis. I highly recommend.
Excellent choice. Definitely returning. 👍👍
Nocello is a must visit restaurant. The food, experience and the service leave nothing to be desired. The cuisine is very delicious, consistent and well presented. Their wines are well chosen and have very reasonable prices for NYC. The sea bass is spectacular, when available, and the parmesan encrusted lamb chops are device. All dishes come with medley of veggies and/or potatoes
The theaters nearby sometimes crowd the restaurant and it doesn't seem the same to me. However, theater goers seem quite happy with the service and selections and..... later in the evening the ambiance improves to a more mellow pace which suits me very well. So we usually book a table for a later time.
Do yourself a favor and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
