   We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at 219. We spent time in all three venues, the cigar lounge, Bayou Bar and the restaurant itself. Amazing food and ambiance! Definitely coming back.

   I chose this restaurant because online the ambiance was nice and eclectic and it wasn’t too far from home; however, the food left more to be desired. The food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. The service was wonderful. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. We made reservations but it really wasn’t crowded. We were seated right away and presented with menus. Like I said, the service was wonderful but the food, not so much. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

   Took the wife here for a mother's day dinner out and so glad we came. The waiter was really nice and attentive, he took our orders right away and kept checking on us to ensure we were during fine. For an appetizer I had the gumbo, it was really good with a very slight kick, although it would've been better with some sausage added. For an entrée I had the Jambalaya, it was great, had a lot of sausage, chicken, shrimp and some really good rice. My wife had the fried chicken with collard green. She like both, but really enjoyed the greens that were cooked with pork and had a little kick to them. Overall a very good meal

   I took my mom for Mother's Day brunch. They had a pre-fix menu of 3 courses at $55 pp. Our server let us know up front he was a bartender who was pulled to serve-I assume most of the women were off for Mother's Day. I loved the set up and the fancy ( I guess French) chairs. It was very cute and quaint. They initially forgot to bring out the beignets for the table, which were more like puffed crackers the size of a Cheez-It cracker and tasted like a communion cracker dusted with powder sugar and whipped cream on the side. There was 3 on the plate for 2 guests..that was a bit odd. The server brought them out shortly after another server brought out our main entrees. I had the French Toast which was topped w/ fresh bananas and strawberries and a banana foster's syrup and 2 1/2 very small/thin pieces of bacon. It was really good, but I wish the bacon was equal to the serving of french toast. My mom had the Fried Chicken & biscuits w/ a side of breakfast potatoes. The serving was pretty large, however, she did complain it was more breading than chicken ( I noticed it was dark meat as well). As I was digging in, I noticed they did not bring our starter-which was the She Crab soup. When we flagged someone down, they apologized and asked would we like to take it w/us but we decided to eat it there. It was more of pureed soup w/a few bits of crab. It was ok, need a tad bit of salt. Finally, to dessert..Mom had the Mango Cheesecake "Foam" and I had the Blondie w/ Lemon Curd and Blueberry compote. Mom's taste okay, better w/the cracker/cookie things they put on top of the foam. My dessert was horrible except for the lemon curd. The blondie was more like a chocolate chip brownie and the dark or semi-sweet chips clashed w/the fruit. Maybe it should have been warmed. Mimosa, coffee, brunch + tip came to about $167..I would have felt much better about that price if the food matched. Not going to blame the server this time, since he was filling in so I did not cut his time.

    Food was decent but not what I expected for the price range of this restaurant. Very slow service as they were way understaffed for a Saturday night. Probably a place I would only return for drinks and maybe an appetizer but not worth a trip back for dinner. Disappointed as I really wanted to love this place.

    This was a great restaurant located in the heart of Old Towne Alexandria, lots of energy, outdoor seating would've been a great experience but they didn't have any available -- make sure to request outdoor seating when making a reservation. We definitely will be back!

    If you are wanting French creole dishes this is the restaurant to go to. I had the gumbo as an appetizer. Then for my entree had the jambalaya. For dessert I had the chesse cake. My libation was the 219 brown ale wish was perfect. Now to top this off the jazz band performance was off the charts.

    The food was delicious and the service was great. We had an early reservation, so at first we had the room to ourselves. The only negative comment is that you could smell some of the cigar bar smell. But it wasn't overbearing.

    Overall is was a good experience. Truffle fries were amazing! There was a strong smoke smell throughout the restaurant due to their other cigar lounge spaces.

    Went to the restaurant for their Valentines menu but one of the items I had been looking forward to was no longer being served. The food that was served was pretty mediocre. Also, I had originally reserved outside seating but it turned out the temperature dropped that day and it was really cold outside. This wasn’t the restaurant’s fault, but combined with the quality of the food, this made for a very unpleasant experience.

    We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine’s Day. We arrived in the lobby and it reeked of cigar smoke. We were sat in a small room near the steps and the tables were so close together that patrons in table next to ours elbow was constantly interacting with our table. The food was just ok and took a very long time to be served. We spent an hour over our first hours douevre my least favorite was the drunken strawberry salad. There was more goat cheese than salad or strawberries and that was disappointing. I order the surf and turf medium and my steak was rare. It was not worth the money or the travel time.

    I did not care for 219 but I did however tell my mom that she would have a good time with her friends. I have anxiety and I’m picky about my food. Quality control seemed to be struggling last night as no two things were made the same. My server was excellent and had a nice personality. The manager was accommodating and understanding as well.
