My meal was $65. The food was terrible. The waitress kept saying no.
First time in Syracuse and first time at this lovely restaurant. Not our last most certainly!
Not sure what we liked better- the food or the service!! Both were outstanding! The filet was cooked a perfect medium rare, the chicken riggies had just the right kick- loved the crispy jalepenos on top!
Few of us ordered just appetizers and others did the full 3 course meal. Everything was great. I loved ordering multiple appetizers. They had good selection of wine as well.
From the minute we walked in, we felt it was going to a good place.
The server was very friendly and helpful with describing items on the menu. The owner came to the table to introduce himself and let us know he was there if we needed him.
The salad was fresh and cold, the main course presentation, quantity, and quality were great.
Very personable owner and staff!
Unexpected trip to Syracuse with a very fortunate outcome. We were lucky enough to find this restaurant on Open Table and loved the menu so we decided to give it a try. The house salad was incredibly fresh and the dressing was delicious. My filet was cooked perfectly and the flourless chocolate torte was amazing. The portions were perfect. My wife had the short ribs and loved them. The service was fantastic and the owners went around to every table. The brick and wood finish give the restaurant a very cozy, at home felling.
Food was well prepared and served, all safety seating and serving requirements were met.
Staff was friendly and informative. A very enjoyable dinner.
The Duck Poutine was fabulous! Great service and atmosphere!
Pros: nice atmosphere, great food especially for value.
Cons: limited menu (however, the options are great), wine & beer only.
I've never heard of this place and found it randomly searching places in Syracuse to eat and I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. With Covid capacity, you have more distance from others so it makes it a quieter experience.
It took very long for the food to come out from the kitchen. We were seated in the basement and it was cold there throughout the dining. The discomfort was extended due to the slow ouput coming out of the kitchen. The waitress was wonderful but couldn’t deliver food if she didn’t get it herself from the kitchen. The management was very apologetic for the time we had to wait, but offered nothing as a consolation. We are pretty certain we’re not going back there for a long time. I’d like to add that the food was served and plates that were clearly cold and so the food cooled off quickly.
An excellent experience, as usual. We went for a dining week & were happy to see a good crowd of people excited to be out supporting this gem of a place. The variety of choices & portion sizes were just right. The food was delicious & prepared with care, & the service was personal & outstanding. We’ve had our server several times & she recognized us as did one of the owners who circulated to chat with us. We love the cozy atmosphere & decor preserves the history of the one of the old buildings downtown .
Dining week was nothing short of fabulous. Don’t miss the flatbread with or without mushrooms. Salads are always great. Pork Milanese cooked to perfection.
Wonderful dining experience. The pork tenderloin harvest Milanese was perfectly prepared. Don’t miss this dish or this restaurant!!
The ambiance was great! The COVID preparations kept us safe and confident. The menu was very original and well thought out to see how one can match flavors together and creating a delicious overall experience. We will go back and SOON! Kudos, Natalie!
Nice comfortable atmosphere.
Excellent item on each course, had Calamari and got 2 Ceasars salads, could have shared one, it was a good size salad! Had the Filet with the best butternut squash puree I've ever had and not because it was probably my first...😆 I would recommend the flute of desserts as all 3 were excellent, if you don't want that, definitely get the chocolate tourt as it's more like eating fudge then and tourt...whoever the social worker that makes those dessert is...needs to focus on those desserts full time! Good local business that deserves local support...definitely recommend.
I had dinner here on a Friday night with my boyfriend. We were looking for somewhere quiet with good food and we were not disappointed! Natalie, our server, was excellent. She was knowledgeable and attentive, and was very friendly without being overbearing. It is on the expensive side, but the service and atmosphere are not stuffy or presumptuous. There was only one other table in the restaurant and it was very quiet. The music was nice as well. The food was outstanding. We had the duck confit poutine, the pork chop, and the cioppino. All were plated nicely and tasted fresh and authentic. We will
definitely be back again soon!
The autumn menu is out and will not disappoint. Both of our dinners were exceptional. We will be going back soon to try more if the autumn menu.
My wife and I found 317 at Montgomery St on Open Table and we thought we’d give it a shot! Wow!! What a meal and night we had! The Duck Boudin was amazingly delicious, my Reverse Seared Veal Chop was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My wife’s Calamari app was fried very well and taste was as should be! Her Pork Milanese with Pomegranate BoysenberrySauce was beautiful! The Carrot Cake we both had was absolutely delicious! Joel the owner was very fun and very much in tune with his restaraunt ! We definitely will be back, even though we live in Monmouth County, NJ. Absolutely go to this location! You won’t be disappointed!
Excellent service. Minimal entries Modest portions but amazing taste and presentation and salad and glasses of wine generous.
Limited selection, but what they do serve is very good. Don't expect a large serving, but adequate.
Upscale restaurant. Don't expect chain restaurant amounts of food!
Great downtown location. Quiet with relaxing and elegant ambiance. Menu changes seasonally making it unique to the area. Menu is always varied; small but selection with about half a dozen entrees, but all are exceptionally flavorful with sometimes unusual but complementary food pairings that satisfy and are prepared well.
Excellent service and food in spite of COVID-19.

Great good, great atmosphere! Owners are welcoming and charming! Loved everything about this restaurant!
Food is always excellent. Wine list is limited, but workable.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was quaint!
Excellent experience. Excellent food. A great meal during trying times. Incredibly friendly staff. Food was top notch.
Excellent three course meal for dining week. Food was very well prepared and memorable. Definite going back soon.
We are repeat customers. Love the atmosphere and the food
We went for restaurant week. Although the menu was limited, the choices were excellent and creative. All of us were very pleased. The staff did a great job of taking care of us within the tight restraints of pandemic regulations. The noise level was a bit too high for us as there was one noisy table of six. With less tables in the wood/brick building, there was nothing to absorb the sound. Eating outside was available for a few tables and we would likely make that choice next time. I highly recommend 317 at Montgomery Street.
My husband and I decided to try somewhere new. The food was great. I normally take some food home but this time I didn’t need to since the food was just enough. The caramel cheesecake was great. I could probably eaten a few more. Lol. Owners were great and very attentive. Highly recommend this place.
We came to try the food during summer dining week, I loved the pork belly bao buns, and the mushroom provolone flatbread was delicious. The chimichurri flank steak was cooked perfectly. The carrot cake was decent as well. I'd definitely come back to try it again.
We had the best date night experience at 317 at Montgomery. We started with the Smoked Pork Belly Bao Buns and they were melt-in-your-mouth delicious! For the entrees, we had the Chimichurri Flank Steak and a shrimp and orzo (I think) special entree. They were both flavorful and filling. We will definitely be back!
This is a nice little restaurant with an interesting menu. I particularly like the smoked pork belly bao buns, which I find to be one of the best items at any restaurant in Syracuse.
Went for the first time, the Duck poutine was phenomenal but our entrees were flavorless and overcooked. Service was absolutely amazing and the small cheesecake bites were delicious!
Delicious food, amazing cook, amazing service and great atmosphere, the waitress was very attentive and friendly, she went above and beyond and they play great music. Will definitely be returning
We are regulars at 317 and have always enjoyed our experience. They are under new ownership, so the menu and chef have changed. We are hopeful the quality and great recipes will remain. The new owner came to our table and introduced himself and gave us a bit of his back story and plans for the restaurant. We wish him success! We’ll be back!
The food was very good and the decor is very nice. There were some rudely rowdy people there the day we went, which was not consistent with the ambience, but they eventually settled down. My only suggestion would be that they should up the vegetarian offerings (there was only a salad on the menu) by having at least one entree each time.
We felt rushed. Waitress took drink order and dinner order right away. No time to enjoy our wine and look at the menu. Courses came out on top of each other. My
Pork chop had to be sent back because it was raw
And then it didn't come out until everyone was almost finished with their meals. Definitely not the fine dining experience I had hoped for. Will not be going back
We were disappointed because one of the attractions for this to be our Dining Week pick was the cauliflower and mushroom Bolognese. It was not up to par Sat evening, so we were asked to change our order. Both the chicken and pork were good. Just not our first choice.
We were in the area by the windows, which was very nice for conversation, but it was cold. Otherwise, we had a great evening.
We had a delicious meal.. we love the space, architecture and the feel of the place. My only suggestion would be to get in an Italian Pino Grigio. Due to the Roundup situation some patrons would rather not drink CA wines. We will definitely return and spread the word as well !! Welcome 317 Montgomery!!
