Delicious salads and shish kebob. Great atmosphere outdoors with partitions between tables and Mediterranean decor.
Amazing food and drinks!
This restaurant is always spot on. The food is fabulous, the staff attentive, I could eat their food all the time. And they remain very considerate of their staff while the pandemic is still happening.
The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and friendly.
Food was AMAZING and service excellent! Everything was fresh and delicious as well as reasonably priced. Portions were generous.great covered outdoor dining area. First time dining here with friends who are Turkish. We Will definitely be back!
A large Turka is the best Turkish food on the UES!
Good service and lovely food
As always, service was great and food was excellent
Looking forward to coming back soon 🍷
We love A La Turka! Great food and service. We have been waiting for the bar to open for seating and it is! Had an awesome meal and time with Natalia, the best bartender in the city!
Our waiter was brusque and rude. He was unfamiliar with the wine list and accused me of “confusing” him by ordering a bottle of wine that was clearly listed on the menu but that the restaurant apparently does not actually carry (a Sauvignon Blanc from Australia). His bad attitude tainted our experience. The food was quite good.
Cold outside on a rainy very cool day. No room inside
Food is reliably delicious. Zucchini pancakes, babaganoush, anything with lamb. Lunch special is a great deal!
We ate outside so it was noisy because of traffic. The service was too slow for weekday lunch. I know not everyone who lunches during the week is working but those of us who are would appreciate a little bit faster service. Price is great for the meal.
Our go to Turkish when in NY
Always amazing food..
Very good food. Great service - the server had a great personality. A very nice outdoor option is available. Good Turkish wines.
We went here with friends who live in the neighborhood, and it was very important to them that we try this place. Now that I've eaten there, I can see why. The food was scrumptious - and also light. I ate a lot (too delicious not to) but didn't walk away feeling overstuffed. We had the Alaturka salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese), which was light and cool, with just the right amount of dressing, and I love how they chopped it up into little bite size pieces, smaller than usual. We also had the lentil soup - a frothy and tasty puree. The zucchini pancakes needed salt but were great as well. We also shared the stuffed cabbage with bulgur wheat and loved that as well. We had the traditional baklava for dessert, and it was really nice. Our friends had some kind of cake with strawberry sauce which I didn't care for - too sweet - but everything else was ON POINT. I'd definitely want to go back to A La Turka next time I'm on the east side.
Very disappointing. Severely understaffed and food was not served at the same time for the different parties and came out cold. Not exactly a bargain for the portions or the quality that went down significantly. We ordered a lamb dish on eggplant puree and most of it were onions and tomatoes. There was hardly any meat in the dish... I would pass!
Excellent food, but service seems to be lacking outside somewhat - potentially due to the COVID environment. Issues seem to be around accommodating guests, with extra silverware and bread. When you spend that kind of money on food and dips and are given one small piece of bread each and continually have to ask for more, it seems they are missing a trick. Service, on the whole lackadaisical but the food is excellent and I would recommend the restaurant.
Great meal and awesome service and atmosphere. Had a great meal and a great time!
We had a lovely date night here! Wonderful atmosphere and the food was delicious. Will be back!
I finally got it right!
I am a long time vegan and have had issues with the vegan options offered at A la Turka. Their vegetables have always been overcooked and I didn't always want to order hummus and the other dips for dinner..... too much bread and calories.
This time I ordered the wonderful shepherd's salad and the falafel plate. Bingo! I was a happy camper!
Great food, nice portions, Thad staffs very friendly and attentive.
Really very good. Excellent prix fixe lunch.
Attractive outdoor seating . Great food a new wonderful service!
Great food. Uninformed and somewhat unfriendly service.
Excellent service and delicious food. A great dining experience again.
Wish the heat was working but all else terrific
My favorite Turkish cafe...food always scrumptious...can be a bit noisey for indoor dinner but outdoor tables are great. My favorite dish...chicken chops...mmmm
Outdoor table for two was perfect
We were rushed to finish our meal. With a 6pm reservation, we were given 75 minutes to eat. Almost all of the indoor tables were filled--no spacing. The railing to the bathroom is loose and could be dangerous.
Food was great!
Great food with great service. The dishes lend themselves to sharing, but the tables are too small (for two). We will definitely go back and perhaps even do takeout.
We were accommodated at one of the small tables on the sidewalk appropriately distanced from two other tables. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and added to our first meal here. Their manti, tiny dumplings in a yogurt sauce, were excellent as was the lamb shish kebab! We had a small side salad, nicely dressed, and ended with three diamonds of baklava. A great time enhanced by several glasses of wine.
Helpful waitstaff--good service--large portions and overall good food
This is a great, solid restaurant. The staff are very nice and the food is very good. They have a nice outdoor dining set up. The only minor annoying thing is that they have instituted a one hour and 15 minute time limit. I understand that they need to turn over the tables but 1:15 is pretty quick for a meal if you have more than one course.
Dined outside in perfect little private outdoor rooms, beautifully done w heat lamps. Food excellent, served well, and staff very friendly. A safe place to eat during Covid
It was nice and the server was very attentive. Overall good dining.
Our go to Covid delivery and eat in fav restaurant. Ala Turka’s kabobs, any lamb dish are great. If you like coffee, get their Turkish coffee! The bar- drinks are reasonably priced and the service has been exceptional. Enjoy this restaurant whether inside their actual restaurant bldg, or outside, in their Winnebago sized Covid ‘outdoor’ eating option on the curb.
Delicious food and a great spot. Would definitely recommend.
always the best neighborhood joint around. you guys keep getting better and better
