What Insiders Are Saying
After five years in business, ABC Kitchen is still pretty. But after a recent change in chef, the food is just pretty good.
Delicious as always, staff is always attentive and prompt.
Very slow service. We both ordered set menu but took nearly two hours to get our food served. The dessert still hadn’t come and had to take it to go.
We adored Michael DeBarotolo, our server! He was the BEST!
Other than too crowded and lots of people, everything is great! The staff are very welcoming and make us feel comfortable!
Very enjoyable meal. Food was excellent and service was flawless. A bit noisy and very expensive but a very nice experience. We’ll be back.
Was good overall
The food is always delicious, but the service was lacking!!
We had to continuously hunt down our waiter, he would go missing for long periods of time
The bathrooms were really dirty + no toilet paper and overflowing trash cans
Very expensive for the amount of food you get. I’m used to NYC prices, but the food was nothing special and very expensive. I’d try dining for dinner, but it’s definitely not worth it for brunch.
I enjoyed my time at ABC Kitchen. The waiter curated a wonderful experience for me on my first time out. He made a few recommondations on the menu suggestions that enhanced my dinner and brought everything together. I look forward to my swift return
We were here six years’ earlier for a birthday, and it was great to come back and find the overall excellence had continued. Service was pleasant and not over the top. Emily, our server, was great with suggestions for dinner and wine. The food? OMG! Their take on fried chicken is a deconstructed Nashville Hot Chicken with very crisp skin, and Swiss chard swimming in hot honey butter. Just great! The recommended side of mashed potatos were amazing and I have to find that recipe for our mashed potatoes during the holidays.
The desserts were wonderful, with the pie crust of the apple tart shining - flaky, buttery, and perfect with the apple filling. WIne list was a great representation of several regions with some excellent selections.
It’s eclectic, energetic, and well worth the trip down.
We were celebrating my best friends engagement. This was the perfect space for this! Servers were awesome, and the food terrific.
Loved the restaurant. Has a great atmosphere and the food was pretty good.
Attentive service, freshest ingredients, unusual pairings. Can't resist the beats, amazing!
staff was amazing. thank you
Overall started out strong. Server super engaged at the start however as tables filled up less attentive. Food was outstanding as was the wine selections server suggested. Unfortunately a glass of wine I ordered didn’t come until my meal was almost done. I could have skipped dessert as $14 for a piece of cake that was pretty basic was underwhelming.
Dominic - thank you so much for the lovely service!
Lunch on our last day vacation in New York!
Food was awesome and the service was outstanding, thanks for this special occasion.
We will definitely go back there soon.
Bdays, lovely quality and some unique tastes.
My Bibb salad had a n inedibly sour dressing and the shrimps were FRIED?
My friend liked his fish sandwich but the fish was also FRIED
Is this chef from Mississippi or a diner ?
My only complaint was our wait! We had a reservation for 7:30PM and were not seated until 8PM. The hostess was not very polite about it, but a manager (I’m assuming) did come out and apologize and give us free glasses of champagne. The rest of the experience was amazing! Great food, and our waiter was awesome!
Hostess and hosting committee need to do a better job of managing reservations v. walk-ins v. table turning
One of my favorite restaurants. Everything is always perfect and fresh and heavenly!!!!
The food is genuinely delicious but you will pay handsomely for those bites of perfection.
After being seated 10 min past our reservation time For brunch we waited 20 minutes before we flagged down a passing employee to ask if we could order. When the food arrived the calamari was very good, but the eggs Benedict had 1 very over cooked egg and the other was so runny that even the white was runny. Service was terrible even though lots of employees were running around. Such a disappointment as this is such a popular restaurant.
Loved the ambience but food was just okay. We got the tuna sashimi and calamari which were good. The fried organic chicken was just okay. The almond cake with pear sorbet was pretty good. The green bell pepper soda was surprisingly delicious!
the food is really excellent. However, very expensive. I went with my niece for lunch and had two entrees (fish with spinach, no other side) 3 appetizers and 1 sparkling water and the bill before tip came to 150 dollars for LUNCH!
A nice lunch but nothing outstanding.
consistently excellent; have been many times; is a fun, NYC classic
The restaurant vibe and atmosphere is on point and perfect for a nice dining experience. The food selection is fantastic, fresh elegance and variety of tastes. Great for small plate sharing apps and amazing entrees. Honestly, I suggest ordering a couple dishes from apps, starters to entrees because you'll want every item on the menu. Of course sharing is a personal preference and you'll enjoy it either way! And the sundae dessert with salted caramel popcorn, chocolate ice cream and melted chocolate fudge is delicious!
The portions are meager, the service is very mediocre, and the food is overpriced for its quality. To begin with, the restaurant places three pieces of bread on the table for three people, a few drops of oil in a tiny plate and a tiny plate with about 12 grains of course salt. Diners have to grovel for more bread and oil. Salads include about 8 pieces of lettuce a few pieces of radish for $18. I would never return to this restaurant.
I have dined here and always loved it . I hadn’t been for some time . Two people ordered the lobster special and both were under cooked and tiny tiny . Food was not as good as in the past
Very nice place. The cocktails are a bit expensive and make the memory of this experience a bit pricey though. But overall the food is good, the space is beautiful and we had a pleasant moment.
Best food Best service and best ambiance. Check out the Home Store!
Fabulous Sunday brunch- every single dish we ordered was perfect - and the service was impeccable. Our current favourite for Sunday brunch when visiting New York.
we were "wow-ed" by every dish that came out- a truly amazing meal!
Great meal, as usual! I noted it was our anniversary on the reservation and they brought out a special dessert which was very kind of them!
I loved the food, I always having a great time dinning at ABC Kitchen .
Great food Great service. Would go back there for sure
ABC Kitchen is just so good. I've gone with different groups of friends and everyone always has the same reaction - brunch there is divine. We get a pancake (with lemon curd) for the table and the other brunch items are all fantastic.
Amazing food, great ingredients and combinations. Went for brunch after a recommendation and was disappointed with what was on offer.
It can get busy so make sure you reserve in advance.
Service was a little slow when we went but everyone was friendly and helpful.
