Everything was great for our Anniversary celebration. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. It was a cool night but the heaters worked well and we had a very nice time. looking forward to our next visit.
A local gem
Fully enjoyed our dining experience. We reserved the outdoor dining on a very cold day and the server set up two portable heaters around us to keep us warm. Could not have expected a better service and the trout stuffed with crabmeat entree was delicious. Will definitely go back again.
The food is consistently well prepared and delicious, and the dining room ambience sets the mood for fine dining. We are regulars at this restaurant.
We had a nice evening on Saturday. Service was great, food as always very good.
Ran into an old ( Randy ) friend and did some catching up.
Will be back.
We are new to Lawrenceville, moving here from the shoreline area of southeastern Connecticut just a month ago. So we have been anxious to get to know the local restaurants. We reserved Acacia for a Saturday night which I usually avoid for the heavier weekend dinner traffic, especially during the pandemic. But this was the day we have available and we had no trouble getting a reservation a day earlier. The menu was extensive with many enticing choices and with a variety of meats and pastas. I had the homemade fettucine with veal ragout sauce and my husband chose the short ribs. Both were excellent. Earlier we had shared the calamari in chili sauce which was huge and very good. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone living or visiting the Princeton area.
First time visit will not be last time. Great menu selection with great fresh ingredients. Food is prepared to order. Outstanding!
Excellent food, and social distancing, but the service was a little slower than I thought it would have been
Amazing as always and the food was spectacular
Wonderful experience. The food is always good, the service is great and a very nice setup for outdoor dining even in cold weather.
Our dining experience was outstanding from beginning to end. We sat outside on their heated porch which I hope they keep as a permanent option. The food was fantastic and our server was great.
The food was terrible ordered shrimp scampi and it had salad size shrimp in it the dish had no taste I couldn’t eat it it was awful my husbands pork was well done he asked for medium the service was ok there was no one in the restaurant and not much for the help or cook to do to not be able to focus and get it right definitely not going back
Amazing food, great outdoor eating space, and friendly staff make this restaurant one of our top choices when we want to go out to eat for either lunch or dinner. Highly recommended!
Sittting on the front porch having flatiron steak and crabcakes - in March.!!
Couldn't be better.
The server was helpful and attentive. The food was delicious!
Not as good as when I was there last time. My main dish was too salty tasting. Maybe it was just a bad night because in the past was always great.
always something inventive and delicious on the specials menu
never get tired of going here.
Outstanding food. One of the best restaurants in Princeton area.
Chris makes an outstanding pork chop. I had one at another great restaurant a few days earlier, but the quality of the pork and his preparation (served with home made pieces of sausage and polenta, and topped with a wonderful fig compote) is not to be missed!
Awesome as always!
As usual the food and service were first rate. The calamari was cooked to a crispy perfection and the sauce with it was delicious. The raw salmon dish was fresh and well seasoned as well. We shared the seafood risotto and steak frites. Everything was cooked to order. Definitely a place worth dining.
Love Acacia! It’s always our family’s go to for a beautiful and relaxing meal. We always feel very well cared for bc the service is spot on and the food is delicious. They are doing a great job of taking care of their customers during a very challenging time.
As usual this restaurant has become one of my 4 or 5 go to places to dine. We can bring our own wine and they always offer interesting special along with a varied menu.
My husband and I went there for a date night. He had the beet salad and seafood risotto special and i had the pear salad and the crab/lemon-stuffed trout. Absolutely excellent food. The skin on my trout was phenomenal- crispy, not greasy, just delicious food. The atmosphere was quiet, although all the tables were occupied. Proper covid spacing and protocols. Overall, just excellent experience.
Our third trip to Acacia and every time was wonderful. Nice ambiance and accommodations both inside and outside. The food was superb! If you like calamari - they are the best we ever had. Don't forget your bottle of wine, it's BYOB. Great for a date or a group of friends. Looking forward to going back again soon.
The food is always good! A nice dinner atmosphere with good service!
We are locals and love Acacia. We went to Valentine’s Day! The food was delicious and the service is outstanding.
Lauren and Chef Chris are awesome with their unique modern dishes. They are also very accommodating to adjust dishes to your liking. Great staff, ambience and location. Highly recommend if you’re ever in the Princeton area!
Went for an early dinner (due to weather coming) for Mom's birthday 1/31/21. Have had very good meals there in recent past, but our Mushroom Pappardelle was quite bland and uneventful. Appies and salad were good though ( Buffalo Cauliflower, Salmon tartar and the calamari; roasted beet salad). Although service wasn't terrible (considering we were the only one's in the restaurant) the server (can't remember his name) acted as if he didn't want to be there. If I would have rated this in the past it would be a 4 star review, but we were disappointed in the overall experience.
First time here. Was seated next to a very loud table of 4 which I don't even think was 6 feet away. Once we ordered, it felt like forever before our appetizer came, maybe 45 minutes, which is not acceptable. It did come nice and hot, but we felt like we had to stare down the waiter/host when we were waiting so long. When each course came, the food was indeed delicious, but not sure I want to wait that long again.
This restaurant has been open for over 25 years. When you can last in the retaurant business for that long, you are doing something right. Food was properly prepared, covid precautions were being followed. Our server was excellent. Personable and attentive but not overly so. Menu was small but that is becoming commonplace under covid. It is a byob. A nice place to enjoy a great meal with friends.
Great food, service and atmosphere!
The crab and trout offering is an outstanding recipe and one of several great meals that I've had here in past weeks. I really appreciate the changing menu that offers foods of the highest quality.
Friendly staff and seating is appropriately spaced. The food was delicious but the prices are a bit high for what you get. We opted for comfort food -- griggstown fried chicken and crab cakes and shared an appetizer between the three of us. Before tip, the bill was $90 for three people. It's BYOB. The dining room was chilly, which made the food chill pretty quickly, but not a buzz kill. To note, you know those places that have crappy elevator music? Not Acacia. Even though it's just a sound system, the music choice is always cool. I would definitely dine here again, and would recommend it.
We had crabcakes, mushroom creme soup, gnocchi and apple cobbler, all terrific. The heat lamps made outdoor dining perfect.
New Years Eve dinner with family
This was our first time here! We came here for NYE and they had a pre fixe menu. Overall great options on the menu. Big portions. Delicious food. The scallops were cooked to perfection. I also got the crab stuffed sole. It was so flavorful and fresh. The chocolate financier dessert was the perfect ending! The service was great and so was the atmosphere! Definitely can’t wait to go back and try the regular menu!
Creative, delicious meal for NY Eve! Needed something special to get 2021 started and Acacia didn’t disappoint. 4 course menu, many choices for all tastes/preferences. Generous portions, expertly prepared. Loved the roasted beet salad! Servers very helpful. Will be back.....
Birthday dinner with the fam. Loved it! Always love it at Acacia.
