Contemporary American
Acadia is a two star Michelin restaurant in Chicago's South Loop Neighborhood. Chef Ryan McCaskey's seven course menu is seasonal with contemporary takes on classic food. Most roots come from classic American, French and Italian influences. Seafood and shellfish products will mostly be sourced from the area in Maine where Chef McCaskey spent his summers, but also which happens to be a source to some of the highest quality shellfish in the world.

Belle expérience gustative, parfois déroutante (peut-être trop sur les desserts)
Seule proposition en menu dégustation 10 plats (petites portions).
Beaucoup de créativité sur les gouts, certains excellents, d'autres audacieux mais a à affiner.
Excellent service digne 3*
Salle trop "froide" à notre gout, pas assez cosi.

Outstanding. Deserving of another Michelin star. Service was better than 11 Madison Park. Food was like a party in ones mouth. Will return.

Overall a good fine dining experience, the only flaw was the Chinese inspired duck with XO sauce... Chinese taste buds are very demanding when it comes to anything that is “Chinese”/“oriental”

Excellent service and food. It’s funny that the fact that the waiter used my name when he greeted me made that much more of a difference. Something that small made me feel good about this place.

I have been enjoying Acadia since the chef first opened (Wow, what value then: $110 for 10 courses) and his food is still top-notch and his creativity is amazing. The service and wine-pairings have, unfortunately, declined. Some of the outstanding dishes were the peekytoe crab to start, the scallop, tagliatelle pasta (yummy — wish I had 2 servings) and breads (those are all separate dishes). I cannot remember them all —and I do not take pictures — but they were tasty! The service, though, left a lot to be desired and, at $950 for 2, the service should be as outstanding as the food. At one point, the waitperson refilled my water glass and rather than walk around me, she reached directly over me (while eating) and the table to refill my date’s glass. She said ‘excuse my reach’ but there is no excuse — she should have walked to the other side of the table to refill his glass — and that is just basic service not even high-end service. The table was not even in a corner (where it may be difficult to reach the other side) as we were seated in the middle of the room. The wine-pairings were NOT good — actually, worse than the service. I really dislike saying that but there were more than a few glasses that I took one sip and could not even drink it. Usually, the staff will notice if you are not eating or drinking your food or beverages — particularly with a tasting menu —and inquire why but not a single server commented, nor asked, about the full (undrinkable) glasses of wine left untouched - we had to ask them to remove the glasses and they still did not ask why we were not drinking them. I do not pay that kind of $ to not enjoy the wine. The guy serving the wine described every glass as “amazing” — none were and only a couple were drinkable. To sum it up: Food = Amazing! Everything Else = Not so Much. The chef is creative and knows how to please the palette. Go for the food but order a glass of wine (or two) of your own choosing and you will enjoy it more.

A must do experience! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Impeccable service and every course was unique, surprising, delightful and delicious. The wine pairing was spot on.

If you’re open to trying new things, enjoy unique dining experiences and are good with the high price point, Acadia is a wonderful place for any special occasion.

Our meal at Acadia was so good. We added oysters as a starter to go with some champagne for the holidays. The courses were all delicious - very oriented to Maine and the sea. Well-sized with good pacing. Our group favored the cod entree along with the vegetarian (nice to have the option). The Chateneuf de Pape that we reviewed with the sommelier and selected was delicious - easy to drink and worked well with seafood.

My wife and I went for our 41st anniversary. I picked it based on the ratings without knowing much about it. When we arrived I wondered if I was in the right place. There isn't much around and it looked closed from the outside, but we forged on and into the restaurant. From that moment on everything changed. We were greeted immediately and provided a wonderful warm drink with flavors I do not think I could re-create. We were immediately seated and the service and continued at such a high standard. Even as courses were presented, it was like watching a dance choreography. Every course was delicious and unique. Not only was the presentation flawless, but the flavors were amazing. The chef put together flavors that I would never have considered, and they complimented each other perfectly. We have eaten at many fine restaurants but I can say that this meal was easily in our top 3. We would like to thank the staff and Chef for making this anniversary very special!

Acadia's service was incredibly polished, accommodating, and individualized. And the food was amazing- interesting combinations, innovative presentation, delicious in every respect! We will return when the occasion of another special meal arises. Many thanks!

Didn’t live up to the expectations! We added the wagyu to the dinner experience and it was soooo rubbery and blah not even close to the amazing wagyu we had at Oriole. We have almost finished covering the 50 best restaurants in Chicago from the Chicago magazine and this has been one of the very few disappointments.

Pasta WAY too salty. Duck with caviar was a miss & Duck was clearly pre cooked . The add on A5 sandwich thing was terrible- it did not eat well. Hard to bite through.
My wife’s fish was way undercooked. My lamb was outstanding though. With all these issues and half eaten food , the service staff did not ask once if everything was ok. I would rather eat at the bar. Burger looked fantastic. Dining room felt pretentious . Wine was on point . Overall disappointing

Food and service were truly amazing. The serving of the 8+ courses was nicely timed so neither were we rushed nor did the whole meal take up the entire day. We have been too many excellent restaurants but this one tops the list.

What a gem! Fine dining at it’s finest! Celebrated my husbands birthday last Saturday and what a treat it was. The last time we ate at Acadia was back near when it opened in 2012. I’m not sure why we haven’t been back since then! Everything was spectacular. Highlights from the menu was the Hornbacher Mornay dish, the lobster dish and the lamb loin! Unfortunately we were quite full so we passed on the evening supplements (which is a shame because the cheese course looked amazing)! The desserts were equally as impressive. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough and certainly understand why they keep getting Michelin stars! Bravo chef McCaskey and team.

Fabulous setting set for foodies. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating without being overbearing. Each course was beautiful in presentation and included unique combination of ingredients with creative presentations. The only recommendation I would make for improvement is that some of the younger servers would deliver the food and rattle off the ingredients quickly and then turn away. A few times, (out of many courses), I had to call them back over to repeat the dish description.

The food was excellent as were the wine pairings, however the rest of the experience was underwhelming. The service was as expected, but the place just lacked any personality. Probably one of the most expensive yet boring dinners I've had.

Close to nouvelle cuisine (the food looks like what it is) with truly unique flavor palette. New flavors that waken and tingle the mouth. Left very satisfied and full.

Acadia was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent. Some of the dishes were underwhelming for a Michelin 2 star. The custard with Dashi was meh. The cabbage was too big of a portion. The presentation was great and the first 2-3 bites were good but beyond that it was just cabbage. The lobster bisque was delicious but tad bit too salty. The rest of the dishes were excellent. The salmon and the lamb were perfectly cooked. I loved the risotto. The canapes and the bread were yummy. The wine pairings were excellent. Overall we had a great experience but for the money we paid it could have been better.

This was our 4th time to dine at Acadia and it was as amazing as the previous visits. The food is beyond description. The Chef is incredibly talented. The meal is listed as 8 courses but we had far more than that and were so full we could barely eat our last courses. We had the wine pairing and enjoyed listening to the Sommelier's description of the wines. Each wine was perfectly paired with the dishes.

Excellent dining experience!

We came here for our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed! Food was amazing and service was impeccable. The attention to detail and the knowledge of the staff is amazing. We would come here again, no question.

One of the top 5 meals I have ever had.... and I have been to some nicely starred restaurants. It was listed as an eight course tasting menu. It was 13 different tastings with 9 different (healthy) wine pairings. I came hungry and I had to pace myself. The Serving staff was absolutely wonderful. I recommend this restaurant with every one of my taste buds! Also, when we left, we were given an assortment of pastries with these menus. Wow!

The staff could not have been more first class. Their attention without intruding was fantastic. The food was well above my expectations but be prepared to be challenged. The chef did a remarkable job blending foods to create an exceptional experience. Well worth the money and looking forward to going back.

Off the charts amazing, I've been to many restaurants across the USA and ACADIA provides a food explosion with every bite...if you're in the Chicago area this is a MUST GO. The experience, the staff, ambience and of course the FOOD, oh so AMAZING... from the time you walk in to the time you leave, every step, such a well orchestrated oiled machine, can't wait for my next visit, no question this will be our go to spot in Chi-town. Thanks to everyone @ACADIA...BRAVO!!!!!!
