Always love dining at Addis. Ethiopian food is difficult to come by in Richmond, and I'm so grateful that these guys are still around! Always great food and good service!
Great place, food was great and the price is reasonable. 3 meats and 6 veggies around $100, and it was worth it.
The food was very delicious and visually appealing. The wait staff. Was very patient and explained each item on the menu for us.
I feel the portions got smaller from previous visits. However, food is excellent.
Fabulous food - savory, a bit spicy, and so much fun to eat with your fingers! The injera bread was delicious and everything was prepared perfectly. We enjoyed the lamb, shrimp, and vegetables. Great atmosphere eating at a table outdoors. One of our favorite RVA restaurants!
Food was outstanding! We ordered extra to take home leftovers!
We waited a very long time for the food, but the food was excellent, and the server was very nice. We would go back for the great food!
Outstanding service and food as always!
Great spices on all dishes! Lamb and Vegan options are great!
Great experience at Addis. The service was a little slow, but they were short staff due to covid so I totally understand. The food was amazing and well priced. Definitely will be back!
Great food! The owner came and chatted with me and my wife . Seems like a down to earth person. Their rose wine was awesome . I want to try their honey wine next time . If you like injera then you def should come here.
Great food. Didn't appreciate all of the TV screens, especially with background playing. They created too much noise and commotion. Loved the food, though.
Great food . A hidden gem!
It was our first time eating here, and my first time with Ethiopian cuisine. It was fun to learn about the culture and experience their way of dining
Food was excellent
Highly recommend Addis
Excellent food, excellent service! I'd highly recommend Addis Ethiopian.
Terrific food and people. I would comeback and already recommended friends !
Our first time there and first time for Ethiopian. Server was very helpful explaining menu and dishes. Our meals were very good.
this is a great locally black owned business
The family is from Ethiopia and controls the food quality very well
Its really too cheap for the amount and quality of food you receive
But the location and building allows for that I guess
Vegan great also
The food was delicious and service was excellent as usual!
Addis Ethiopian was a great choice! We had a reservation for 6 people, and they accommodate all of us on a big table. The menu has so many options that looked delicious that we couldn't chose, and the glass of wine was abundant. Also, we did not know that we were not going to use silverware, and we took the experience we an open mind, and it was a great night.
The food was flavored well and hot when served!! More than we could eat.
Overall, I give this place a 4/5. We were looking forward to the food unfortunately we got here the last hour and they will run out of bread which took away from the Meal. Rice was served instead. I kept eating off my daughter’s plate because it was so good 4+. She had so sort of beef with onions and green peppers However, My son and I had the lamb which was too salty 3+. My blood pressure went up up up. Overall, atmosphere was great and the food was good.
Fabulous food! What a gem. I had the spicy lamb and my vegetarian husband had 3 veggie stews. All were so delicious. The injera was perfectly fine too. Highly recommend.
Food is incredible! Worth every penny and then some. New outdoor patio on the 17th Street Market is breezy and has a great feel. Great service.
All vegetarian choices; all good. A new experience with nejeria(?) .
It was an experience, no complaints on the food or service, definitely recommend trying Ethiopian at least once.
When we got there for a birthday dinner they said they didn’t have our reservation. The manager was very blasé about it- said we could sit outside (in 45 degree weather). Of course- there had been a table that was set with our exact number. A guy was standing at it holding it for his (much smaller) group. It was obviously our table but the manager just let them seat themselves.
We ended up leaving and don’t intend to return. They shouldn’t be on open table if they are not going to accept made reservations.
Interesting restaurant and fun if you haven’t had Ethiopian food. It was good but not the best Ethiopian food that I have had. I would recommend more for just adults
Wonderful, for the food quality, but also for the quality of the service!
This is quite possibly the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been to. If the bathroom is anything to go by, I would hate to see the kitchen. Sticky tables, dirty floors, filthy bathrooms, flies swarming around my food. The whole restaurant is run down and unappealing. The meats were excellent. The vegetarian dishes I had were both poor. No Ethiopian beers available and half of the other beers not available either. I had to drink my 4th beer choice. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend this restaurant.
Extremely flavorful food that is reasonably priced. The ambiance is just okay. Our only real complaint was the soda. They only give you a few ice cubes, so our sodas were not very cold. I also thought my soda was a bit flat. However, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone because the food is outstanding.
There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant! I don’t blame her but she was struggling to keep up with service. The potato and carrot entree was cold but all the food was tasty! I love this restaurant so hopefully this was just one isolated night that was off track.
Second time visiting. Family loved it.
Made a reservation on open table for 12 noon today and showed up and restaurant looked closed. We were told to just grab a seat where ever, didn’t even ask if we had a reservation. Lights were off and music too like we were interrupting their opening duties of the restaurant.
I am glad this was not a place where I had to impress my date/company. The food was good but the overall feel and bare minimum customer service really makes me hesitant to come back again.
The food was excellent! I really enjoyed the shrimp tibs! The dish was perfectly spiced! Will return!
Cozy atmosphere! Friendly staff, great reasonably priced food and drinks, good location
The food and service was perfect, can't wait to return.
Excellent service. Great value. Food was delicious. Will go back again next time we are in Richmond.
We had a wonderful dinner and our waiter made some very helpful recommendations. The food was very good, flavorful, and plenty to go around.
The food is wonderful, portions are generous, and service is good. Lamb and red lentils were our favorite dishes we tried.
