Ate on patio and was very nice and distanced from other diners. Enjoyed our first visit. Was hoping for better wine selections.
Really enjoyed the patio dining.
It will be nice to have heaters out for chilly evenings.
Can't wait to go back.
Great menu with wonderful variety from small plates, salads to main entrees. I had the Grilled Caesar salad which was wonderful, flavorful and grilled perfectly. Then the eggplant parmesan which was good---a little dry and crispy. Enjoyed overall. The lemon Blueberry creme brulee was delicious!
Only one waiter. Several tables. He worked very hard and was as attentive as he possibly could be. However, we didn’t have condiments with out meal. We had to ask for the salt, ketchup, mustard, the take-home box. The menu was somewhat limited. Nit a lot of choices for vegetarians.
Fish was overcooked you the point that fork wouldn’t cut it... crab dip had barley any crab meet... and this is just a few of the things, will not recommend it.
2nd time trying, hoping 1st terrible experience was a one of, but nope, it’s just not that good, sorry
Sorry to hear about this. After receiving your review, I asked my servers who worked on Saturday if anyone had brought these issues to our attention. No.....It is difficult to fix a problem if you don't tell us. We are in the hospitality business and want to know about your experience before you leave. If you really care about supporting local restaurants, next time you might want to let the server and restaurant know.
Everything was fantastic. We sat outside and it was lovely.
First date night after the birth of our son 4 weeks ago.
Portions of food were not at all worth the price. I’d rather go somewhere else.
Great outdoor dining experience. COVID menu pretty large with many great choices - entrees and sandwiches (we had both).
Food and service were both superb. Excellent wine list! Felt very comfortable and safe dining out!
Great service and great food! My husband and I have added this to our list of go-to-places! Keep up the great work!
Delightful lunch! Everything was prepared to perfection. Great service. Definitely an experience worth sharing.
Will return soon.
Everything was wonderful as always! Staci enjoyed her special dessert for her Birthday, thanks for all the thoughtful touches.
The food was, as usual, delicious. We were disappointed in the menu, changed due to COVID. The selections were more geared to lunch than dinner.
While Aida Bistro had been a perennial favorite of ours since 2006, this was our first visit since November 2019, primarily because the quality of the dining experience had deteriorated dramatically under a new executive chef. Upon hearing that the chef had moved on, we decided to visit one of our old favorites to assess the changes since last year. And we are VERY GLAD that we did. We arrived at Aida on a Saturday evening in late August and were greeted at the front door by always gracious owner Mary Barbera, who guided us to an outdoor table on the covered porch. Our waiter, Luke, arrived shortly thereafter to review the new menu, take our drink order, and, later, our dinner selections. We decided to begin the evening with the basil pesto flatbread with mozzarella. The flatbread was cooked perfectly and contained an abundance of basil, cherry tomatoes, arugula, and both parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. Our salad course was comprised of the goat cheese salad and the watermelon and tomato salad. Both salads were delicious, lightly dressed and visually stunning (someone in Aida's kitchen has remarkable knife skills, as the precision with which strawberries and apples were sliced and arranged in the salads was mind-blowing). Entrees included the beef short rib and the grilled swordfish. The former was fall-of-the-fork tender and was artfully arranged among root vegetables and asparagus tips in a flavorful red wine demi-glace (I tried this before my own meal and was immediately jealous). My grilled swordfish was topped with pistachio pesto and sat upon an Italian version of ratatouille in the freshest tomato sauce I have ever tasted. We finished the evening with a tiramisu (the coffee-soaked sponge & pastry cream were delightful) and cannolli stuffed with sweet cream and ricotta. If you haven't been to Aida Bistro lately, you owe it to yourself to check out the talents of Chef de Cuisine Kara Lovalvo & Sous Chef Nick Fontaine. Aida Bistro is back!
Thanks for your feedback. We really appreciate your business and are happy to know about your experience. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
Excellent food and Great Service! On the expensive side
Even better than the food was the absolutely amazing staff. Thank you for a great meal.
Food was good but the portions were pretty small
Service was great and they did an outstanding job on keeping everything sanitized and clean. Food was just okay. Wine was delicious.
Gourmet dining options for reasonable prices and a delicious wine menu! Apparently the beer menu is also quite good. Try the Grenache Blanc on a summer day outside, crisp and refreshing like a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, but with low acidity. Yum!
It continues to be great to be able to go to Aida Bistro. We had the restaurants week menu again, but we don't mend that next week this will be over since the regular menu is awesome.
Aida Bistro is our go to place. They make the best espresso martinis & the food & service is always amazing! Great place for a night out!
Everything was great. The food was truly incredible. Delicious. Service was great. Awesome methods to keep safe in Covid world even sanitizing check book, pen, my credit card after... hand sanitizer upon entry. I would recommend Aida to everyone.
Aida Bistro is wonderful. First, they operate with strict following of all the proper procedures for virus protection, and in fact go further than is required (certainly further than what I have seen elsewhere). Like with all establishments in these difficult times they have reduced their menu selections somewhat, but have established a well-balanced and well thought out menu that has items for every taste. They still come up with specials to add to it, and the current special restaurant weeks menu is an excellent addition to the regular fare (we have already ordered off of it twice). Go - you will love it.
Excellent service form the front to the table. Excellent food, fresh. creative, and well prepared. Perfect place for quiet celebrations and conversation. Attentive staff without being overbearing. Will return often.
Aida did a great job adhering to the social distancing rules. We had the restaurant week 3 course meal and every course was delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and it was nice to be out to dinner again.
AIDA is taking noticeable precautions in response to COVID-19. Clean, well spaced tables, and plenty of outside seating. We chose indoor seating. Hand sanitizer was readily available at the entry and cloth hand wipes were available in the restroom. Paper menus, so no worry about reuse. The food was outstanding. Tried a few of the different reds on tap and they were all delicious. For food we had the three course restaurant week offerings. I chose the a fried pork belly and a shrimp appetizer. For the main course, I had the NY Strip. They were all amazing. Met one of the owners and she seemed genuinely concerned that we had a great experience. This was our first visit. Will definitely make AIDA part of our restaurant rotation!
I've been wanting to try this place and I'm so glad I finally did. They are on a limited menu, as many are given the times, but everything we tried was awesome. We couldn't get the wine flights due to the limited menu however, there were still plenty of options and they were good as well. The flash fried mozzarella app was great with a drizzle of balsamic that I never knew I needed. We shared the rosemary wings as well and then the Seafood pasta which had a fantastic and unique sauce and noodles that you could tell were fresh and authentic. The service was quick and everyone on the staff was extremely attentive.
I cannot wait to go back and try more.
AIDA Bistro & Wine Bar was a pleasant surprise! My family and I enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was perfect, the owners spoke to us and made us feel welcomed. This restaurant is beautiful and is a hidden gem Columbia MD. Plate presentation, drink presentation was perfect, we can’t wait to go back!
They are doing an awesome job in a difficult time. Ample outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Great food in a well thought out menu - something for every taste. Properly separated tables, well placed sanitation stations stocked with sanitizer. All staff in masks and they wear gloves that are frequently changed. They even sanitize the check folios and have a touch free portable pay station (apple pay and Google pay enabled). It is clear they care about their food, their customers, and their staff.
Food, drinks & service are always great at Aida Bistro and this visit was no exception!
Great evening. Not crowded at all and felt very safe. Had a lovely night out with a friend.
Great food! Great service and the ambiance is quiet and great for a romantic date.
Great food and very clean. Highly recommend it. Will definitely go back!
We were so glad to be able to sit outside and enjoy a birthday lunch. Everyone at Aida’s made us feel welcomed and safe.
It was nice to be able to dine outside and see all the precautions that were taken for Covid. I’ve missed the food. The shrimp PO boy was delicious
Aida is always a great experience! This was our first time back since the pandemic and they did not disappoint! Great service, food, drinks & atmosphere as always!
What a delight AIDA Bistro and Wine Bar is!!! The food, especially the Chilean sea bass special and the strawberry cobbler with mint ice cream, and service are always on point. The wine list is plentiful but not overwhelming. Joe is a master at choosing just the right things to go with their menu. A special thank you to Mary for being so generous with her attention to my mother in law who has dementia. We felt so welcomed and right at home. And she was delighted and felt so wanted and loved. This was a precious night out with her that we will not soon forget.
Great to get out!! A more limited menu right now but that’s everywhere. The wine was an incredible value. I’ll definitely be back.
Great food, really fresh. Superb staff.
