Amuse at Le Meridien - Arlington
Seated immediately. Server came right over to table and ask us if we wanted water. Food was served hot. Serving staff nice and kept checking in with us.
They thought short ribs with fried potatoes and broccoli was the same thing as a pork chop with sweet potato purée and spinach. Entree was comped.
Wobbly table, lunch food all over floor, dirty wine glass, residue in my coffee cup, horrible.
We wanted a breakfast/brunch restaurant that was quiet enough to have good conversation and Amuse met that requirement perfectly. Unfortunately the food was very poorly prepared. I had eggs Benedict which were lukewarm and hollandaise sauce was dried on the top of the eggs. My companion had a crab omelet which was also lukewarm and tasteless. Our server was pleasant but the service was slow. The restaurant was sterile in its appearance. The table was rocky and in spite of attempts by the server to level it we were fearful of spilling our coffee every time we touched the table.
So so experience, maybe ok for a hotel but def not close at all to the offerings in DC. If you have time go to Georgetown or downtown - but if you’re in a rush this place will do just fine. Probably a lot of fun for HH
Great location, nice setting, food that is "ordinary" at best.
Only one server was available for the entire dining room. This resulted in slow service. Please staff more than one server for dinner.
Place is horrible! Food was awful; they didn’t even have steak — and my chicken wasn’t even cooked! They should be embarrassed. Wouldn’t recommend, worst place I’ve ever been!
Food was sub-par. Service was fine, but not extremely attentive.
Stood at hostess stand for ten minutes waiting to get seated, service was below average.
The restaurant is getting better. Food preparation and service have both improved since I last dined. So, I'm encouraged.
0 for 3 in getting my salad right
Always my go to for casual business meetings. Menu items to satisfy every dietary restriction and preference. Light and friendly environment.
For our annual "Father / Son" pre Christmas 'lunch' we decided instead on cocktails and a light meal at Amuse @ Le Meridien, and we were both very pleasantly surprised. From the valet parking right out front to the assistance with elevator location by the concierge all the way through the small friendly crowd at the bar to our seats overlooking the Potomac River and Key Bridge, the service was genuinely pleasant, cheerful and helpful not to mention efficient.
We can't speak about the full dinner menu but the appetizers and generous cocktails were very tasty; especially the great meatballs.
We'll definitely be back!!
They took forever to get our food but the ambiance and the seating area is very nice!
For a noon-time lunch reservation, the venue was not crowded at all. However, they appeared to be short staffed since our waitress was also the bartender (the bar is not visible to the dining room).
There were definitely gaps in service. Our waitress looked unkempt and was wearing a badly food stained shirt.
At the end of our meal, we requested the check and for my salad to be boxed. The waitress replied that she would prefer to not box up my meal because she's "not good with her hands" and she indicated she would bring us a box. We stated we were in a bit of a hurry and asked that she bring the check and the box at the same time. She brought the box but not the check. When she returned with the check, we attempted to hand her the VISA, but she zipped off and we had to stop her. Upon receiving the receipt to sign, we noted the pen she provided had no "insides" (no ink cartridge, no top, a completely hollow pen). And since we could not find her, and we needed to leave for a scheduled meeting, we proceeded to the hostess, who provided us with a pen. We signed the receipt and proceeded toward the elevators. The waitress came flying around the corner yelling for us to come back. But the hostess calmed her by telling her we had left the signed receipt with her. We replied "Have a good day".
I'd say they definitely need to hire more wait staff.
Our salads however were GREAT! Best salad I've had in a while!
Dirty table and silverware; table was also off-balanced -- moved tables and the second table was off-balance; salad took 30 minutes to arrive; and at the end of lunch not only was I charged twice for lunch but was told my card did not go through so had to pay a THIRD time. Not good at all.
Mediocre food combined with incredibly poor service makes for a miserable dining experience. I’ve tried it thrice. Each and every time it never fails to disappoint.
Our family had a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner at Amuse. The food was exceptional and the service wonderful. The chef prepared a truly great meal of turkey, roast beef, and a whole roast pig, and the staff provided such personal attention. We couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving experience!!
Amuse is our go to venue for business breakfast and lunch meetings. Healthy, tasty, simple (but complete) menu and non-intrusive service.
Always a great place to meet with clients and colleagues
As an Italian restaurant, they were out of Parmesan cheese, and did not have Chicken Parm. and Pepperoni Pizza. Also, the staff brought two Bud Light beers, when my friends ordered a Stella and an IPA!!!
If your schedule is a tight one, this isn’t the place. I eat lunch here frequently when I need a sit down meal within walking distance of the office. The food is good, but the service is glacial, and has never gotten better.
Food was OK, but service was extremely slow, as seems to happen more often than not. If you don't grab a waiter as they go by you may not see them for a long time, and i saw a number of other patrons craning their necks looking for a waiter throughout their meal. Maybe they've got wait staff for only a few tables, so when it gets semi-crowded at lunch time there are more people than the staff can handle. Or something....
Quiet and not too crowded. I like to go there for a business lunches or to meet with local employees.
I don’t think this place is what we think it is. The food was so so for the cost. Beautiful ambience and great service. Food vs dollar. Eh.
Good food and service. A bit noisy for business lunch.
This restaurant is absolutely horrible. When I complained at the front desk, the woman totally agreed with me. She said everyone at the hotel knows that the restaurant is awful. I refused to pay. The food was inedible. I ordered a Tuscan salad and a flatbread. AWFUL!!
The food was good as usual but the service was slow as usual . It took an hour to get our food (we were a bigger group but still it want that busy when we went). Also no one came to check on refills etc until prompted.
Good place for lunch and or stop by after work for drink and some food. Good conversation with co-workers and or friends. Bartenders and wait staff very friendly.
The menu items are pricey. You are paying for the few. Or chicken on my kale salad was extremely dry and completely tasteless.
It was very difficult to find a waiter to help us. He never stopped by and asked us how we enjoyed our breakfast. The service has consistently been unpredictable here. The food is quite good.
Have come here several times for business lunch/happy hour. Service can be a little slow but food and drinks are good.
For what I thought was a higher end restaurant in Roslyn, this place did not deliver. Their wine list is terrible, with only 4 or so bottles of 3 types of red wine. The chicken parm was good, but isn't exactly a hard dish to deliver. Our coffee was brought out cold, and the waiter, while pleasant enough, had a difficult time keeping up even though we were one of 2 tables occupied. Skip this place, I'll never return.
Reservation followed-up by call (very hard to reach human); event was dinner with view of DC fireworks. Told that all seats had great views. In fact, none did. Drove to restaurant, and cancelled when true situation was realized. Exceptionally poorly run and Le Meridien staff was very surprisingly terrible.
Service was extremely slow. Waiter disappeared for 20 minutes after getting are drinks. Then came back again and asked us what we had ordered. He had forgotten and never put the order into the kitchen. He disappears for another 20 minutes. We have to go up and ask the cook chef where our order is. He tells us that the waiter put in in late. Food finally shows up and is okay. Our disappearing waiter is still gone and we flag down another server to pay and leave.
Really wanted to like this place, but it fell flat. Tough for me to write, because I don't like to complain. Service was well-meaning, but inconsistent. Food was just plain not good.
Always our go to for small to medium size groups for happy hours and business lunches and business breakfasts.
Food was very good (haven't had a bad meal there yet) but service is always quite slow.
food was delicious but the kitchen was SLOW and server so absent I thought he was invisible. Otherwise it's a great restaurant. I was more than pleased that they were able to accommodate my party of 9 last minute for mother's day breakfast.
