I have come here several times for brunch and dinner and it is usually great. Lovely atmosphere and drinks. Today however, I took friends for brunch and it was just plain bad. Hopefully it was just today and the things we ordered, but it made we question if I should come back or ever take people here again.
From entering until we finished, this was a perfect place for our "double-Date" with old friends. We had apps, cocktails, wine, main courses and dessert and every bite was delicious. Service was amazing: quick but not pushy. Delicious and relaxing!
Eat here often before a show at the Calderwood Theater. They are always welcoming and efficient in getting you out on time. Food is excellent French Bistro fare which changes seasonally. Some outside seating as well. Pretty noisy inside when full although the room on the front right tends to be a bit quieter.
I normally love all the food at Aquitaine, but this time we ordered the scallops that were slightly overcooked and a little dry and hard. From the menu, we thought it was served with snap peas, but there were none on the plate. The "canard pate" tasted like liver... still good, but we couldn't detect any flavor of duck. So this time, atypically disappointing.
Your omellets are not fluffy but flat. I have tried twice at both Boston Nd Chestnut Hill
Food delicious. Shared meddles and duck confit salad. Both fabulous. Kitchen adapted well to my dairy free needs. Ambiance great especially since we got a booth. Prices very fair and service great.
Just what I expected. Very nice atmosphere good food, outstanding service.
It was Fathers’ Day. Our daughter in Connecticut surprised us with treating us to a cocktail. The Host handled it perfectly as did Rafael, the waiter.
We had a good and relaxing time with Rafael.
Father’s Day brunch
Sit up front, nicer view out the front and less closed in. Great bar. Cocktails are on the sweet side. Good wine list. Try the Sole. Waitstaff was extremely nice and mostly efficient.
Great place, great food, great people/service
Great food, awesome waitstaff, grouchy maitre'd/manager.
Food has never been good, but a good spot for lunch business meetings. Good service.
Our waiter was spectacular. Every dish we had was sublime. Not a touristy place. We felt like one of the locals. We’d go back again and again.
Portions were a bit small, chicken in chicken and waffles was rubbery and burned, the waffle was undercooked, the poached eggs in eggs benedict were overcooked and the ham was dry.
Haven't been there in a while, and will definately go back !
Delicious and authentic menu at Aquitaine. Service was a tiny bit slow but this was not a big deal, as we were very excited for the food, which surpassed our expectations. I'm excited to visit again!
Went there for dinner with my partner. I’m trying to eat a low-carb diet and explained that to our server, who was more than accommodating. Food was delicious and service was spectacular. I don’t know why we haven’t been going there more frequently!
Aside from the gin and tonic being flat, everything was great!
Amazing service! Beautiful design. The food is great! Worth a visit
Came here for my boyfriends birthday and we had an amazing time. The food was fantastic!
Excellent food and excellent service.
Loved everything about it from the building to the bartender drinks and of course food and servers
what a great place for weekend brunch
this place has been a favorite for almost 20 years
Very delicious! One of the best cheese plates I’ve had. The chocolate bread pudding was fabulous as well!
Long wait even with reservation. Service at table was ok. Food was bland.
My daughters and I had a fantastic time at Aquitaine. The service was crisp and prompt. The Salmon Tartare was delicious as was the classic French Onion Soup. The Pan Seared Gnocchi Parisienne was melt-in-your-mouth wonderful as was the Veal Blanquette and Sole Meuniere. This is a must go-to when in Boston.
Fabulous food, great value and excellent service
Three of us dined at Acquitaine for lunch. We had the Crispy Duck Presse and Pan Seared Gnocchi Parisienne. The food was delicious! It was such a nice, quiet, place to dine and converse. I will definitely go back. My only issue, albeit minor, was the seating for three was a little awkward.
4 of us enjoyed our lunch very much. The asparagus salad was especially good. The wine service was a little slow but over all the service was good.
Four of us ate lunch there today. There were two other people in the restaurant. It took over an hour to get 4 salads. The food is good but the service is terrible.
I have eaten at this restaurant a couple of times. The place is beautiful and not too loud. You can actually hear a conversation. That's fantastic. Food was delicious especially dessert
We had a spectacular pre-theater meal. All of the food and drink were really superb, some of the best in recent memory. My scallops were very sweet, cooked perfectly, with several different light and flavorful sauces. My husband chose the duck, as good as any we ate in France last year! Our tickets entitled us to some free items, a glass of champagne for me, and dessert for my husband, which only added to our pleasure. Great spot for dinner!
Food is great. The wait was a bit long though.
Great experience. Excellent service and excellent food. Expensive, yes, but worth it, especially for a special occasion.
We went to Aquitaine to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from Boston University.
Everyone loved their meal. It was a truly magical evening.
A very special “thank you” to Aaron for his attention to our reservation.
