In February of 1992 Artu opened its doors to the world, starting with outstanding sandwiches and mouth watering roasted meats, we continued to evolve and grow. Perhaps we are spoiled by Italian food we have eaten in SF and (yes) New Orleans, but the food here was pretty good, not worth a special trip. Bolognese was average, without that magical blend of sweet and savory, and the texture of the veal dish was not pleasant. Service was good, ambience was ok.

Mother’s Day, I ordered the grilled salmon as did my husband. As they brought it to our table, we could smell the fishy smell. Fish should not have a fishy smell like that before or after cooking. They took it back and replaced it with another meal. I was surprised they didn’t comp at least one of our meals. Our water glasses went empty several times throughout the meal and despite not being overly busy(it was early, 4 PMish) our waiter brought water to the tables around us but to ours, only once. The food was mediocre at best. I will not return nor recommend to anyone else.

My family went to Artu last night and had a wonderful meal! Our server, Mateao, was both knowledgeable and friendly. He made great suggestions and checked in on us frequently. I would totally recommend Artu to a friend.

My husband, 2 kids and I ate dinner here on a Thursday night. Service was great! Food was fantastic (chicken saltimbocca, fresh spaghetti, homemade meatballs). My daughter is on a limited diet (gluten & dairy free) and they could not have been more accommodating! Although there is not a separate gluten free menu, our waiter Lorenzo made several suggestions on modifications that could be made to menu items to accommodate her needs. She ended up ordering gluten free pasta with chicken and broccoli in a garlic olive oil sauce - it was delicious!! We opted to stay for dessert rather than visit tourist trap Mike’s Pastries. We had tiramisu (maybe the best I’ve ever had), GF flourless chocolate cake for my daughter and wonderful lemon sorbet for my son! Our third time here over the years while visiting Boston- I’m so glad I decided not to try a new place. As always, Artu did NOT disappoint!

We needed to remind our waiter to bring an appetizer we had ordered, and we also had to remind the waiter to bring an entre we had ordered. He didn't write anything down or confirm what we were ordering; he didn't know what the desserts were and had to go check, yet he had a pad of paper to read off the evening's specials. My lasagna was delicious.

We made a last minute reservation for a semi-large party (5) on a Saturday. We opted to come a little early, which worked for our schedule. Great neighborhood atmosphere, service was kind and professional, the restaurant was spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious, fresh and we all left full! We will definitely add this to our North End list of favorites!

Not super impressed. Service was fine. Bread was so so and butter was brought out for us to unwrap in little foil packets (it's the little things). Also, when asked for olive oil, it was brought out in a shake bottle, not on a plate for dipping bread into. Food was just ok. I was hoping for something special. Liked the atmosphere ok, but would probably choose another restaurant next time I'm dining in the North End.

We had a Girls Night Out! The drinks and appetizers recommended by our waiter , Andrew , were excellent. He attentive and careful not to interrupt the chatter! We hadn't seen each other in 2 years to due Covid. Our entrees arrived & were simply devoured quickly. We all split a chocolate cheesecake. We walked out a bit heavier , but with more smiles! We had a wonderful evening! We would go back in a heart beat!

This is a great North End restaurant that is easy to find (right off of Hanover Street and just a 10 min. walk from Haymarket MBTA stop), moderately priced, friendly service, and delicious food. Pasta tastes house-made and perfectly cooked. We have been to this restaurant several times after being introduced to it by a friend who lives nearby. Our family, including a picky teenager, has tried at least half a dozen dishes and we always clean our plates! Delicious sangria, too.

Had dinner after the Bruins game. This is our favorite place to go when in the North End. Great food, great drinks, very spacious. This was the first time for the other couple that joined us and they loved it too!
