Amazing food, great service and freindly atmosphere. Highly recommend
We went for brunch and it was great. The only problem was presenting the "Local Flavor" gift card. They said they couldn't take it because we had to spend $45. I pointed out that that said it was for take-out. After waiting for over 20 minutes for a resolution it was determined that we only had to spend $30. as was stated on the certificate. We also asked 3 times for a bag to put remains in and that was never fulfilled by our waitress. The brunch was tremendous but spoiled a bit by mix up.
We decided to do brunch and were pleasantly surprised by not only our easy requested accommodation outside but also the new value priced special of 3 eggs etc for $9. Bailie, our server, could not have been any more pleasant and welcoming. We also got to chat with owner Bob Steele who visited out table. Great way to start a Sunday!!!
We love Backfin! The food is amazing and staff and service is awesome.
What a wonderful gem in the heart of Port Deposit! Food, drinks, service and ambiance were all top notch. Will definitely be back.
Food was awesome like always. Service was remarkable. Our server was very helpful with the menu.
Grilled Caesar salad and blackened Ahi tuna were really good
The service was excellent. The waitresses were pleasant, knowledgeable of the menu and we could not ask for anything more. The main courses were cooked to perfection and we said as much to them. If I had to point out a very minor complaint, it was the stuffed mushrooms - they were prepared as a casserole - not what I expected but good.
We were on the covered porch. Everything was great, food, service and the bloody Mary's are exceptionally good.
Service was great, food was delicious!
Delicious food. Amazing chef. Great service
The food was delicious, as always. The very critical comments are that it was warm inside the restaurant and that the noise level is high due to the kitchen area being divided from the dining area by only a partial wall. But that doesn’t keep us from coming back.
It was our first time at Backfin Blues, we wanted to try somewhere new for our 17th wedding anniversary and we loved it. We will be back! We already have recommeded BB to our friends. :)
Everything was delicious! Appetizers, cocktails, main course and dessert! All delicious! The atmosphere was great and so was the music! It was a perfect evening out!
Prices are a bit higher but the food is worth it. We had the salmon and cod and they were prepared perfectly. The server was on top of things without being overbearing. Music was a bit loud but she had it turned down when we asked. Perfect night.
Always fantastic food and service
Food was delicious! Love Backfin Blues!
This was my second time at Backfin Blues. After my first experience, I decided to give them a second try. During my first visit, I ordered one crab cake which cost $27. Unfortunately, it wasn't a $27 crab cake -- it was okay but lacked unique flavor which should set it apart from other restaurants. This time we tried "Lobster Bisque." After not seeing any aspect of a lobster in it (not even the tiniest grain) we were told that it is "lobster accented" -- no actual lobster was involved in the creation. Additionally, it was a rather runny soup -- not an actual bisque (the soup was not removed from the final check). Overall, Backfin Blues truly did give me the blues. Definitely not worth the money.
Always good but even better now then before Covid. Had poached pear salad with twin crab cakes, steamed broccoli and grilled zucchini, each done to perfection as was everything else that was brought to the table. Our waitress Bailey was excellent, very attentive and on the ball. Will get back there very soon.
The food was excellent and everything about the experience here was great. It was expensive and the parking was bad
We have been regulars since Backfin opened but since owner chef Bob retired the place is not the same. Our food came out cold after we were there for an hour and a half. We sent it back and when it came out again it was still not hot, we ate it but the fish I had was small and very salty my wife’s lobster tail was six ounces at best for $42.00. It will be a long time before we return.
Backfin Blues was a nice experience. Food was delicious, especially the crab cake and broiled lobster tail. The only negative was the zucchini medley was basically uncooked and rather raw, which I informed our server. Server was great and checked with us to make sure we enjoyed our meals. Some of the menu items were a bit pricey but we’d love to return to try some of the steak dishes. Well worth trying this place out.
I can’t say enough about this place. The food is consistently delicious. The staff is consistently perfect. We ate outside and it was a beautiful night. I have written reviews many times and they are always the same. Outstanding ! See you soon!
We love this place and go there regularly. Great food and great town.
Always a good experience every time we are there. The food is always good and unique. We always try something different. We look forward to our next dining trip there.
The place was jammed packed and even though we were told they were minus servers the staff worked very hard to keep everyone happy. It was 10 of us and our service and food was outstanding.
Food was, as always, outstanding. Perfect Eggs Benedict and wonderful pork chop topped with an egg. Only downer was they no longer have the craft cocktails they once did. I ordered a classic margarita- should be 2 parts good tequila, 1 part Cointreau and a dash of fresh lime. I even paid up for Herradura tequila. I got a tall glass (?) with what could have been Herradura but I'll never know because it was a tall glass full of sour mix. It was like a "cocktail" they would serve at TGI Fridays. We will keep going back for the excellent food but save money by just drinking water with our meals.
Excellent as usual.
In an out of the way location but well worth a visit. Outstandingly prepared food whether meat or sea.
Wedge salad is large- we split a “small” one and it was just right. Filet mignon perfectly medium rare. Crusted salmon excellent. I don’t know how they prepare their crispy Brussels sprouts but they were delicious.
We’ll go again.
As always the food was great. The table directly next to us had a dog who laid next to our table and seemingly begged throughout our entire meal . I’m a dog lover but wish the server would’ve picked up on the location of the four legged friend and said something to the owners 😏
This was my second visit to Backfin Blues, and it was every bit as good as the first time I was there. We had the stuffed shrimp and a filet, and both were excellent. This place is truly a culinary experience not to miss. I can’t wait to go back.
Wow! What a great find. We had an early reservation. The service and food were both great. The pace of the meal and the atmosphere were very relaxed. We will return.
great food. great service at bar. nice decor.
overall, great experience.
Backfin Blues is one the area's best restaurants. Casual atmosphere with excellent menus. The best part in our opinion is the staff!
Our first time there. It's a quaint Main Street-little town feel. I ordered Lobster tail w/crab imperial and my husband got the Crowned Filet w/lump crab. Both were INCREDIBLE! His steak had a Grand Marnier sauce that was absolutely delicious! As a side, we both got the smashed potatoes, which we dipped into his sauce. I also got the grilled zucchini side, and he got the grilled Brussel sprouts. Everything was prepared to perfection and absolutely delicious. The service was great as well. The only issue we had was with parking. There is no designated lot. Most spaces you do find are reserved for other locations. It's tough when you are unfamiliar with the area. Won't stop us from coming back, though!
Seated outside on balcony; hot and loud. Food overcooked and/or poorly presented. No refills of drinks offered by waitress. Manager made excuses because they were busy. Very disappointing.
Back Fin is one of our all time FAVE restaurants!!! Always a great experience!
As always, the food was phenomenal. The pork chop was the beat I've ever had.
Excellent place to eat and the service was excellent.
