Great waiter and food
Celebrated my husband's birthday and we were quite excited as it had been a while since we last dined at Barbuzzo. The food was outstanding and my husband said it was one of his best food experiences. We shared a lovely pasta dish and two vegetable dishes - pasta caccio charred broccoli, and sweet potato w harissa dish and all were just wonderful and went well together. He celebrated with a tiramisu and enjoyed that very much.
As for the service, wow, very disappointed. It took a long time to place our drink order and it although it was a busy Sat night it just seemed there was a lack of attention or blasé quality about our server and that was the vibe for the night. It could have been a negative if it wasn't that the food was so good.
We'll be back but next time opt for the bar.
So delicious and special. The waitstaff could not have been lovelier and the food was amazing. Just what you would want from a night out. Can't wait to go back!!
We bought our friends from the suburbs here to enjoy some of what we feel is the best food in center city. From the velvety butternut squash soup, to the cauliflower pasta and veggie grain burger, everything was delicious. I love a good Old fashioned and the bar made it perfectly, not cloyingly sweet. Our friends enjoyed their Manhattans as well. Tiramisu for dessert as well as a stop for chocolates next door. Jamonera, Lolita, Bud& Marilyn’s, at each we have had a culinary experience well worth the money.
The Budino is the best item on the menu. I would also recommend the ricotta
Barbuzzo never disappoints. The small plates let you try several inventive dishes. The beet salad, pizzas and the stuffed meatballs are all great choices. The pastas are all delicious as well as unique. The craft cocktails are delightful but make sure you save room for dessert as the Salted Caramel Budino is truly a Happy Ending:-)
Went there for a date. Service was great and food was great, as usual.
The restaurant is a bit cramped, but not uncomfortable. (Our pizza was actually flipped over by a patron in a puffy coat, but we got the idea it happens often and the staff took it in stride and had us another in 15 minutes!) Service was lovely and efficient--support staff were on their game. Fantastic wine list. Great meatballs. Only disappointment was a pizza with a soggy bottom: too much sauce + fresh mozzarella made it soupy. Overall, would totally recommend.
I always love the food at Barbuzzo. There are classics that are almost always on the menu and rotating dishes to fit the season. The only downside to dining at Barbuzzo is how crowded the space can feel.
The antipasti platter never disappoints. Consistently fabulous food....salted caramel budino is to die for.
Second time to this place. The food was really disappointing and it was so hot in the back! I was sweating over my meal. The tables are way close together the chairs hurt my rear and the waitstaff is brusque. They did take my entree off if the bill and the server apologized, without me having to say anything, for being a bit rough and I appreciated that. The whole thing just felt like a scene and it wasn’t enjoyable.
Dining as a group of four, it was easy to share the olives, cheese board, two pizzas, wine and dessert for under $200 - a pretty good value. The pizzas were both great, but hands down, the budino and apple bread pudding were to die for. The only down side to the restaurant is the noise level and closeness of other diners, but we were prepared for that based on the reviews.
Tim, the bartender, was EXTREMELY RUDE tonight... as I was leaving, he literally starred me down and refused to help me until he could attend to the 2 (two!) customers in line behind me. I was shocked and completely dumbfounded by his inappropriate behavior. I still cannot believe a such a well-known and popular restaurant would allow its’ employees to treat a customer so badly. It was a terrible way to end an otherwise awesome dinner this evening.
We always have a good dining experience at Barbuzzo. The staff is professional and the dishes are consistently innovative and delicious. The roasted beet salad with kale was the star this time.
Highly recommend the gnocchi in particular. Fantastic.
Been to Barbuzzo many times and had enjoyable experiences. This visit was an awful night for them. Water dumped on my girlfriend with no apology. Courses ordered but not served. A hour and a half to get our food. Getting bumped by other diners and servers at our table. We will not be back.
Really delicious, very busy restaurant. Small space, at times felt like we were being rushed to eat and finish dinner, but overall service was still really great.
Had a great anniversary dinner here. Absolutely get the kabocha squash pasta. It's outstanding.
Great creative food and drinks. Surprisingly bad service
The cocktails were fresh and light. Tables are close together and small but not distracting. The cauliflower pasta dish was fabulous!
My pasta dish was absolutely delicious.. but as always, so was the ricotta and arancini. You also cannot beat the salted caramel budino for dessert!! This was my third time dining there and as always, I would go back!
Our waiter was outstanding. He explained how food would be served and checked on us often. Food was very good
The food was outstanding, our server was Liz she was very knowledgeable about the menu and really paced our meal well. We never felt rushed or pressured to leave
Another great dining experience. Barbuzzo is always consistently great. We had such a fabulous waiter last night. Always a great meal.
The caramel budino dessert is worth the trip alone! Follow me @foodnflowersobsessed for more food recommendations when traveling
This was our first visit....and what a nice treat! The service was outstanding. We had the starter beet salad, a pizza and the hangar steak. All were delicious. The hangar steak was pricey for the portion size, but overall the prices were to be expected. Huge cocktail was a bonus. Strongly recommend.
Had the fall salad with kale, beets, pistachios and goat cheese followed by a yummy burger topped with Talegio and wild mushrooms! A perfect lunch for two....and of course with lemonade, Tito’s and basil never dissapointed. Love love love this place!
We had a great meal & fantastic server... just so so loud and close... I would go back but not for a romantic dinner.
Great food and remarkable service! Very small space, close to your neighbors. Good wine selection. Desserts very nice. Overall checked all the boxes for a great meal and enjoyable night out. Most of all really exceptional service, which is rare this day in age. A must try. Very crowded. Make reservations!
Fantastic! I have now eaten in all of Marcie and Valeri’s restaurants and like all of the others, Barbuzzo did not disappoint! My server, Doug, did a wonderful job of explaining the menu of small plates to my dining companion and me. The sheep’s milk ricotta was beyond delicious and a wonderful way to start the meal. Our salad selection was just as good and lightly dressed, perfect. The pork loin was the best I have ever eaten! Perfectly cooked and accompanied with just the right amount of polenta. I can’t imagine how any dish prepared from this kitchen would not be anything but delicious ! The salted caramel budino dessert suggested by Doug just completed a perfect dining experience! My compliments to all.
I look forward to dining here again.
Excellent food and service!
Food was phenomenal although seating was uncomfortably tight. I’m a thin woman and had difficulty fitting in between the table to get to my seat.
Quite dark! I’m young but still had trouble reading the menu. Overall the food was good, not excellent. Small restaurant overall but had a cool vibe. Would come back!
All as desired but too loud; no reason to have background music at high level. Otherwise just what we were looking for as pre theater lunch.
We went there for lunch. I had a very tasty roast pork sandwich. My wife had chicken breast, nicely presented with fresh greens on top and what we believe was a mushroom/lentil sauce. The service was friendly and prompt without being intrusive. The ambience was pleasant. We would go back.
Every time I have eaten here, the food has been delicious! The seating is tight but worth giving up a little elbow room.
My husband and I seek out top rated mostly vegan , if possible, restaurants when we travel. Barbuzzo was recommended to us and..we were NOT disappointed !! Food was amazing. Service was some of the best I have ever come across. Everyone was kind , helpful and real. Whenever we travel to Philadelphia again, this treasure of a find will be top on our list to revisit. Wish you could be in Minneapolis!
LUNCH REVIEW: Wish they opened prior to 12pm (you can't even be seated if you arrive a few minutes early). But, the end result is a lovely meal and a great place for a business lunch.
Excellent attention from our waiter, Charlie. Low(er) noise level than usual (Monday night) was nice, too.
Great food the sheep’s milk ricotta was delicious. We ordered pizzas and the Uvo Pizza was amazing!
