Food and service are always consistent good!!
Overall the food was good. The beer was nice. But, I’m not sure about leaving the skin on an un-trimmed chicken breast in the grilled chicken sandwich?
We split the fish taco cups, pork belly sliders, and the B&B burger. All three items were delicious but the fish tacos were phenomenal! My husband had a seasonal gingerbread stout that he liked a lot. My seasonal drink, the flannel shirt was pretty tasty too.
Pretty great, I dont like the trend to sit people at tables with other groups but beyond that it is a great restaurant.
Crazy loud. You have to yell at each other to be heard, just sitting across the table from each other. It was a busy Thursday night, but it seems to be always busy, and impossibly noisy. Food was only marginal and significantly overpriced for what you get. Sorry, one visit and done.
Overall nice venue, good food but with three drawbacks.
- Noisy. Little bit too loud if you want to have a business lunch
- On the expensive side. $28 for a lunch Tuna Avocado Salad...shredded lettuce, few scoops of avocado and good size portion of Tuna.
- Getting into and out Tyson's and parking is just becoming too painful. Not the restaurant's fault but this fact alone is making me reluctant to select any venues for a business meeting.
Interesting beer selections and the small plates are great. I prefer to share multiple sides / small plates rather than the main dishes. They are more interesting and fun. Also great for happy hour, especially in the warm weather b/c the outdoor space is very nice.
Came for brunch with a friend and as always, didn’t disappoint.
I’m a regular so this is always a good location.
The service was great, but the food has really taken a downturn since the last time we were there. Vegetables were extremely under cooked, and basically raw, and over sauced. The brioche bun my burger was on was stale, and it just really wasn’t worth the money. If it wasn’t for the great service our server gave us, I would have given them one star.
Excellent host and service, food tasty, restaurant very clean and pleasant.
Another great time here
Good food, great service, nice environment for a (near) mall restaurant. Trek the few feet outside the mall to go here for a good, well-cooked, locally-sourced meal and drinks.
Who would have thought a restaurant inside a hotel would be so lively and the food so delicious. First off, this place is loud! We were against an outer wall too, and it was still loud. If you don't want to easily talk so much with the person you're sitting across from, this is no big deal. Now the food -- that chef rocked. Tapas plates are available, or you could get entrees, which included seafood dishes or even burgers. We did a little of both. We got a half pound of shrimp ... perfectly spiced, jumbo and firm ... wow ... and each got the cod dish, which was probably the best cod I've ever had. Service was ok ... the waiter missed the customary "Is everything as you like it?" check-in, and water glasses went empty for longer than they should have, but it was busy. Overall, we enjoyed it and would go back.
Barrel & Bushel is a quirky restaurant and is conveniently located near the Tyson’s Corner metro station. They have fantastic shareable plates and a very extensive beer menu. My husband and I got the pretzel to share and it had the most amazing cheese sauce! I also got the pork belly sliders (great) and he got a fried chicken sandwich (also great). Highly recommend!
Great selection of beers on draft. We got the burger and the hot chicken and French toast.
I recommend making a reservation just to be safe - the later it got the more business people came and it filled up quickly.
It is inside the Hyatt Hotel in Tyson’s Plaza.
The waiter was simply bad at his job. He was missing in action for long periods of time (we had to ask other waiters for drinks, the restaurant was not busy), did not know the menu and was rude when asked questions about the menu.
The restaurant itself was not without flaws. We ordered a total of three different dishes with none of them were noteworthy. We had reservations yet they wanted to sit us at a group table, even though the restaurant was at about 25% capacity.
The decor is nice and it would probably be a good happy hour place where food and good service isn’t necessarily needed.
Food was good but ultimately not the best experience due to service. Waited 20 minutes to be seated for our reservation and had to wait forever for drink refills etc.
The food was good and the server wonderful. The biggest problem is that we literally had to scream at each other to be heard and we were sitting in a booth. I like energy and activity but not at the cost of not being able to hear the person next to you.
Food was just OK. Great prices on happy hour items! Vibrant scene, a bit loud. Great location.
Good food and atmosphere. Server staff a bit cranky. A longer than desirable wait despite having reservations
EVERYTHING seems spicy!! Even mac & cheese with bacon has a kick to it! The biscuits on the sliders were very crumbly and difficult to eat. Desserts aren't particularly appetizing. Ribs were rock hard and smelled strange/old.
I have been to Barrel & Bushel before and found it to be much better on those previous visits. It was empty on Sunday evening at 6, so I guess others have had some similar experiences.
Andrea is an excellent server. The fried chicken sandwich is always excellent, but substitute fries or tots for the chips.
We have had better meal than the one we had Saturday. Food was not as good as normal and service was slow. If not for the great local beer selection we would not go back. They get one more chance.
I loved everything about this place!
Our waitress Andrea was wonderful. She was friendly and kind and made our dining experience memorable.
The presentation of the food was beautiful, but the flavor was sorely lacking. The side salad had no flavor other than the taste of the olive oil in the dressing. The chopped chicken sandwich also had no flavor. I couldn't taste any smokiness in the eggplant spread and there was no other flavor other than the grilled chicken and avocado. Service and the ambience was wonderful but because the food had no flavor I won't be going back.
Love the atmosphere in this place and the food was very good. Busy place on a Saturday night but liked the energy and service was excellent. Can't wait to return.
Okay hotel/institutional food.
Yeah don’t feel like sharing trying to help
With the review now your pushing it
The food was good but the server seemed a little overwhelmed.
Service was excellent.
Drinks are fantastic.
Our waiter was MIA. We had to flag other servers to get them to get his attention. We waited more than 20 minutes for our order to be taken and waited another 30 minutes for our food to come. We waited more than 20 minutes for someone to give us the bill. And frankly we could not wait for someone to take our bill that we had to walk our credit card and the bill to the manager.
The food was OK but the disastrous service really made us angry.
Also, it was so loud! The bar area was packed and really close to the dining area.
Met my son and her gf for dinner. Reskins/Cowboys game was on in the bar area. It was not as noisy as expected in the dining area. Service was good waiter checked on us frequently. Ordered deviled eggs and Ahi tuna apps - Delicious!!! Son & GF ordered burgers and I had the Cheesy crab soup. All of our food was very good and fresh tasting. Highly recommend.
Everything was great! The food was fantastic, friendly server, extensive drink menu!
Had a great time here. Will definitely come again.
My family and I enjoyed brunch on a recent Sunday afternoon. The food was excellent, service was great, and a good time was had by everyone. Highly recommend the smoked cheese and crab soup, Texas chili, grilled romaine salad, deviled eggs, and tater tots (as an app--not just a side).
Food was excellent. Service was very good. The table behind us was so loud I could barely hear myself talk. It persisted and was unbelievably agitating. Would not go back unless I’m in a back room somewhere.
Ive been to this restaurant several times with great service. After our server first greeted us I literally had to wave him down every time we wanted service. He regularly passed our table without even looking our way or stopping to check on us. We left early to find somewhere else for drinks without giving our normally sizable tip.
