We made a reservation and they get us a table 45 min later, and they start with the cooking another 45 later. The food is delicious and the chef was a very nice person.

My reservation was at 7:00 didn’t get seated til 7:40 didn’t our waiter was really nice but must have been fairly new because he was all over the place had to we had to keep asking for refills he kept forgetting almost everything for everyone at our table . He wrote my order down wrong didn’t realize until I wasn’t served what I asked for he took so long to bring our checks that I end up going to checkout with the manager I didn’t leave until 10:00 pm i was extremely irritated but the food was amazing as always and our chef was pleasant

I tried to take my wife here for her birthday. first sign that this place has gone downhill was the sticky floor, the next was the spackle that was on the wall. we did get our drinks. after that, waiting to be served for an hour and ten minutes, I called over our waiter. he said he would go find our chef, then promptly never came back. could not be more disappointed. save your time and money

Food was very good! The food preparer did a great job entertaining and fixing our meals. The restaurant could be cleaner and the women’s restroom was a little yucky.

I come here a few times a year as it’s a 40 minute drive from where I live. I usually know what to expect. Last night the service was EXTREMELY slow - it took over 2.5 hours for our meal from start to finish. The restaurant itself is also dirty and in need of some TLC. We come for the food, it’s our favorite hibachi, but for what Benihana charges the restaurant should be cleaner and the service should be better. It was nearly $150 for a meal for three (one being a child).

Short staffed, arrived for reservation at 7:20pm did not receive chef to prepare food until 9:30pm, food was cold, poorly presented and over priced definitely would not recommend as a restaurant of choice. Short staffed long wait times, staff was rude in regard to extensive wait periods.

Benihana never disappoints always a good experience food was prepared very well & was tasty drinks were also good & refills came without even asking all was good thanks a little pricey but worth the experience we will be back by far the best hibachi around oh by the way you must have new management service was so much better than our last experience

Waited one hour and 15 mins before requesting a manager. Manager was very dry unapologetic and did no follow up. The service at this location has extremely deteriorated over the years. The chef was the best part of the evening. Food was seasoned and well cooked. Not sure after 30 years at this location if I will be returning. The price of the food does not measure the quality.

My experience was kinda hectic.When I 1st arrived 13 minutes b4 my 7pm reservation time...I was told there would be 2hr wait because they didn't have enough cooks and they had an unexpected party of 50. I asked for a manager but while I waited I witnessed Benihana lose a lot of business just by the hostess telling them it would be a 2 hr wait. The manager needs more assistance and clearly Benihana needs more staff because they said they only had 3 cooks.We got seated within 45 minutes and the staff was exceptional and extremely apologetic...

This was the worst birthday dinner for me. My sister came from California and ordered edamame for appetizer and sushi for meal they didn’t bring her food until we were almost done eating. They were out of salad which I love friend ordered a drink a both waitresses forgot about that as well. Good food as usual from Olivia.

Service has really gone down. We had an 8:30 reservation, but was seated an hour later. Only two cooks we’re working on a Friday night. Service was really slow. They really need to upgrade the inside. Looks the same as in the early 90’s

Jean was our chef and he did an excellent job. Great customer service from him. Our cups stayed full, mixed drinks were tasty and food was well prepared. A little expensive for what you get, but you’re paying for the experience and we got a table all to ourselves, so it was worth the money. Bathrooms could be cleaner, and the servers could be nicer.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. The staff was horrible. Can’t really work their own software. We ended up paying for our meal twice due to their mistake. Swiping my card more than 5x but telling me it only declined once’s due to their own mishap. Paid $660 for $330 of food and the food was disgusting and the drinks are week. Didn’t taste like it had a touch of alcohol in them. They stood in the way refusing to let us leave and call the cops. Tried to have us arrested for theft. We filed a complaint against the police department & I will never so much as think about eating there again. I’m shocked they even lasted this long. Ruined my 6 month wedding anniversary. Just all out disgusted

We had a reservation for 6:30 but probably didn't get seated until 7. We received our soup as the chef had already started cooking. We had no utensils. We had to ask 3 different people to finally get them. Didn't receive our salads until we already had all our hibachi food.

It was a fun experience. The music was way too loud They over charged for the drinks, the menu said one price and the bill reflected a way higher price Lots of cross contamination Wouldn’t recommend for someone with food allergies

Showed up for our 8pm reservation with 4 kids and 2 adults. Didn’t get sat until 8:40pm. Didn’t have a chef begin until 10:10. Finally got our meat at 10:35 in time to pack it up to go since the kids were starving and tired. I never leave reviews, but this was by far the worst most expensive dining experience of my life. $365 bill for food that we never ate. We typically go to Benihana two to three times a year and the tradition began in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh Benihana is well run, efficient with nice staff. I cannot say the same about their Cleveland location. We will never go back!

The food and the service were outstanding. We had 7:30 reservations and weren't seated until 8:00. A family of 3 who were there when we arrived at 7:25 got tired of waiting and left (they had a small child with them). I felt for the hostess because it wasn't her fault - they seemed to have only 3 or 4 chefs.

Had reservations. Still had to wait even after showing up early. Had to wait for server. They were short staffed. Some folks at my table left. Ate my soup and salad, didn’t get appetizers until 30 mins later. Tempura vegetables were soggy like it was sitting under a heat lamp. Main course was good. Got the filet and shrimp. Chef was good and entertaining. Had to refill my own water. I still left 20 percent tip because it’s not her fault they are short staffed. Poor management is the root cause. Only went due to a birthday certificate. May have to forgo future events there. Having dinner for 2.5-3 hrs is nonsense. Get it together Behinana! There are other places competing with you!

We went for Sunday lunch at 2p as a party of 3. The restaurant was very empty, which I liked, but it also meant that it took a while for the hostess to come greet us and seat us once the entire party arrived. But, we had the whole table to ourselves! The waitress was prompt and let us know that since it was lunch we could order off of the lunch menu. It's a limited selection but the prices are way cheaper than dinner, so that was great. Our chef was also very attentive, talkative, and most importantly, a great chef. The food was delicious and he even gave me some cooking tips.

I've been here multiple times over the years & always for my birthday! If this experience had been my 1st, I most definitely would not return! There's a new manager & you can tell. They were short staffed & you could tell! Our reservation was at 7 & we weren't seated until 8:21pm. Didn't get waters until close to 9 o clock. We didn't eat until close to 10. Just a complete mess!!During that wait, I attempted to order a to-go order as well & got the run around about where & how to order it (at the table or up front) i went up front & was 1st in line, BUT had 2 other customers orders taken before mine who were there AFTER me! My 2nd attempt (since the order was for someone else who couldn't get food elsewhere due to it being after 9:30pm) -my order was taken & then 10mins later (after 10pm) the hostess comes to me at my hibachi table to tell me they are done taking to-go orders for the night 😒 Terrible!! This was the worst experience here that I've had when i know they can do better!

We have been to Benihana many times and this visit did not disappoint. The highlight of the meal was the Soft Shell Crab Appetizer - pricey but worth every penny. Neither of my dinner companions had tried Soft Shell Crab and they enjoyed it so much - we ordered a second serving!

I didn’t like how I couldn’t use my birthday coupon on the weekend. If I would have known that I would have never went there. My main reason for going for my birthday was to use the coupon and have a good experience. Then y’all put 2 other ladies at at my table who weren’t with my group and all they did was complain and brought our vibes down. Food was okay but could have been better.

Never again. Totally understaffed. When we arrived, the host said there's a delay and won't be until 7:30. I said we had a reservation for 7:00. The manager came over and said she had to give our table away because we weren't there at 7:00. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:03. She didn't apologize and sat us at a table right away but didn't get service for at least 20 min. Then waiting for a cook for another hour. The server and chef said they're understaffed. the food was like eating a salt lick. Over salted and over soyed everything. Horrible! We left at 9:20 PM.

Poor service and understaffed. Reservations for 6pm. After being seated, waited 90 minutes to get serviced. The food was good but the portions are small and not worth the price. Very disappointed. Will not be returning.

The food was amazing, however, we were seated at a table with ten people when it’s normally 6-8 people. Being that cramped makes it hard to eat. Especially when you’re left handed like myself. I took my meal to go so I could eat comfortably. Otherwise, great night.

Only 2 chefs were available. Waited extra long. 7 people were at our table and after the chef got done cooking all the food was given out but there was none for me so they had to bring more seafood. Now the chef was in a big hurry to finish our table and the scallops they brought me were very fishy. This is my favorite restaurant and normally everything is great. They just need to get more help.

Ron was an exceptional Chef. We really enjoyed his showmanship. I don't recall our waitress' name but she was great as well. She went above & beyond. This was my first time eating here & it was a beautiful experience!

I loved my date night with my husband. I loved the guy who cooked our food. He was professional and took his t I me to make sure we all had what we needed. We were seated next to another couple on their own date. I liked the idea of separate tables for dates. We were able to enjoy our dinner peacefully. The ambiance could be better. There are no decorations it's sparse. But the food was great so we come back anyway. I noticed they were short staffed as well. I had to wait awhile for the hostess to bring me sauce because we were in a rush to a movie. Even though I spoke on it. Not her fault. Need more staff.

The food was mediocre, it was covered with the char of the grill. We were told there was only 3 chefs and the place was packed. The waitress was inattentive, repeatedly having to be be searched for. The bus boy attended to our needs for simple things such as a clean plate, fork and boxes to take our remaining food home.

We sat for 45 min waiting for service. 2 tables seated after us were being served. I asked the hostess what was happening. She forgot to tell our server she had a table. Manager was standing there. Never said a word. No comps or apology. Brightside Ron our chef and Saleema our waitress were amazing and did their best to save the night.
