We had a 9:00 PM reservation at Benihana Lake Buena Vista. By 10:00 PM — an entire hour after our reservation time — we were still sitting at the table with no chef and no food being prepared. At that point, I was done waiting and asked for the check so we could leave. What really made the experience worse was the response: the waitress basically just said “sorry” and then still charged us for our drinks. No manager came over, no meaningful apology, no attempt to make the situation right — nothing. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in the Orlando area, but if you accept a 9 PM reservation, your guests should not still be sitting there at 10 PM waiting for the dining experience to even begin. A reservation is supposed to mean something. We specifically chose Benihana for the hibachi experience, and we never even got a chef to the table. After wasting an hour of our night, charging us for the drinks on the way out just added insult to injury. Extremely disappointing customer service and a complete waste of our reservation. I would not return to this location.

The service is a little slow, and the food is not really what you’d expect from a highly rated Japanese steakhouse. The happy hour food and drink is about all that would be worth the time. Sitting at the table with the teriyaki chef is expensive.

I was extremely disappointed with our visit to Benihana in Lake Buena Vista. We were looking forward to a great meal and a fun experience, but unfortunately, both the food and service fell far below expectations. The food was not good, and for the prices being charged, we expected much better quality. The service only made the experience worse. It was slow, inattentive, and left us feeling like our table was not a priority. I understand that restaurants can have an off night, but when you're paying for both the meal and the experience, the basics of good food and attentive service should be there. Sadly, they weren't during our visit.

Justin our chef was great. The young man waiting our table horrible straight garbage. Could not find him ever. Stuff was missing ended up with plasticware by the time we got to dessert . What a circus. Service was honestly negative 3 .

The yum yum sauce seemed poor quality. I was disappointed. The server was supposed to bring white rice and forgot. We were on dessert and then she brought some rice bowls but skipped me all together. To get hibachi without rice really disappointed me. The server was so busy with next table that we did not get refills on our drinks. Sorry I usually don’t complain but I will not go back to this location. It also seemed like the chef did his training online. He lacked any enthusiasm or entertainment during the dinner. Not what you would expect from Benihana.
