Blu was amazing. the food was great. the portions were huge and the view was amazing
The food was great, everyone loved what they had. I had the scallops with a lobster risotto, scallops were perfectly cooked. A guest had the short rib which they said was amazing. I tried a couple different cocktails, both very good, though a little on the weaker side. We didn’t have one of the tables with the awesome view, but the ambiance was still ok. We were there for dinner before a show, the waiter asked us about that, and was great at making sure we were out on time. Only complaint is it was over priced. I have had similar quality food for less.
As always, our server, service and food were excellent!
Beautiful restaurant and the staff were very nice and the service was good considering the dinning room was full with pre-theatre diners and while the menu was interesting, it didn’t live up to expectations.
We started with the signature tapas platter and all 3 sauces were lacking the bourbon sauce was not rendered down properly and the lollipop lamb chops were over cooked, maple sauce on the scallops (bay) on pork belly was way too sweet and while the fish nuggets were prepared well the sweet chili sauce again was too sweet.
The sword fish was slightly over cooked and under seasoned but the lobster mashed potatoes were very tasty.
My husband did enjoy the braised short rib, nice portion and cooked well.
Very convenient to the theatre district, but will try a different restaurant next time
Dinner with friends before the ballet. Everything was wonderful and timing was just right. Will definitely return. Loved the variety of the menu...something for everyone including a plant-based diet.
Hostess was pleasant, friendly and helpful. Server was quick, effective and attentive.
The location is very convenient to the theater. Service is excellent. The waiter remembers us from previous visits. Drinks are very good.
Very good service and food. Would have liked to see specials beyond what was on the menu. Nice table view of Downtown Crossing.
Good for the location and the staff and food quality were very good. Something odd about the ambience. Would do it again
We came here before the theater. Our waiter Rais was extremely attentive. The meal and presentation was outstanding.
Everything was very nice but I do think the quality of the wine (at $14) per glass was high as it was not top quality wine...
excellet in every way. Our server was amazing. Love the view too. Lots of great choicdes on the menu, we'll be back!
We only had a salad and appetizer. Salad was very good but appetizer not so good. Waitress was excellent. Beautiful setting.
We had a delicious dinner before seeing a show. We loved the view ! Our waitress was perfect and made sure we done in time to get to our show.
Went to eat before going to the theater. Had a drink and Split an app and a meal and a dessert so as not to have any leftovers. They didn't have any issues with us sharing. Everything was very good. Our waiter was great too. Nice view.
Wonderful experience! Get a seat by the window!
Fish was super fresh and the flavors were balanced and delicious.
Absolutely amazing in every single way. Will be going back soon for sure.
This was a nice dining experience. They have a very good menu (many vegan/vegetarian options). Food was well prepared and the service was good although our server disappeared for a bit and didn't check in with us. We had a great table with a view of Boston's "Broadway" and the seating was comfortable. The portions were substantial and very delicious. We only remembered that the restaurant "shared" the space with a health club when we went to the rest rooms. Desserts sounded good, but we were too full to partake. We would definitely return. Great location and nice ambiance.
Fabulous lunch at Blu before a matinee of Neil Simon's play Plaza Suite with SJP and Matthew Broderick. Not even over and I rotally recommend both.
Wow! I was very impressed by Blu. I had not heard much about the restaurant but knew it was there next to Equinox but I was so pleasantly surprised how good it was. The lamb was to die for as was the salmon and scallops. I can't wait to go back!
The food was excellent. Ambience was average, minimal decor. Cool views of the theater district. Service was good, we did need to ask for bread and forks though.
While Blu can be quite noisy, the wonderful food and modern decor make it a special occasion.
Birthday. Relaxing and enjoyable.
Wonderful place for dinner before theatre 😍
I’ve written a review before and Blu continues to be a great place to go before the show or anytime you find yourself in town and wanting a good meal with a great view. The wait staff is always amazing combing the best mix of attention and privacy. Apps were delicious- fig flatbread and carpaccio salad. Entrees were all seafood this evening, which were fresh and flavorful. Timing allowed us drinks and dessert which continued the well rounded meal.
Pre theater dinner with family. Nice view. Enjoyed the food.
It was a bit on the higher side for price, but it was a fun vibe and great service!
This last visit was SO disappointing, I don't think we'll go back. Drinks were good, location perfect, atmosphere great, service good but the food was really bad and expensive. My husband's swordfish was so overcooked it was like rubber. My flatbread pizza was so undercooked and gooey, I ended up just eating the top. Our appetizers were also poor - his cauliflower was tasteless and overcooked and my salad was limp. Yuck. We ended up leaving a good tip because the bad food wasn't the waiter's fault but never again...
Great food and wonderful service.
First time for lunch and not sure if they were understaffed or I experienced the norm but definitely too slow for lunch when we all needed to get back to work.
The server was doing the best he could but never addressed how slow it was (I didn’t ask either).
I have had better experiences - both service and food- when I have gone for dinner.
Food was very good, one waiter on staff for the entire restaurant was a little problematic, but he did his best.
I was a little hesitant to go here after reading it was in the Equinox sports club. However I'm glad we went. The service was very good. The drinks were great, my Old Fashioned was made properly with 1 large cube. The flat bread appetizer was large and tasty. The salmon entre was also very well done with fingerling potatoes, roasted Brussel sprouts, and carrots.
Great place for a pre-theater dinner!! Relatively small dining room, nice and quiet. Service was very good - friendly, attentive but not too much, and we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal. Fried calamari were excellent! Italian sausage flatbread was good but broccoli rabe was overcooked. Then the herb roast cod was delicious!
Waiter was excellent. Food came out in a timely manner. Food quality was decent. Expected higher quality food for price.
