We had a wonderful time. The wait staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Brassica is a great place for great, creative food and delightful staff.
Not sure what's better, the food or the friendliness of the staff? Both are outstanding!! This little restaurant is now our favorite place in Boston. We think it serves up the best food in the city! The spices the chef uses are like no other and the flavors are original. Everything tastes fresh. Even the cocktails are remarkable. If I have to offer an unsolicited suggestion it would be that perhaps they could add a few more items for people who don't like meat but don't go the full vegetarian route... more fish (without seafood). But that took a lot of thinking to suggest.
First time there, but certainly not the last. We had a great meal and loved the inventiveness of the menu.
Always friendly, lively - with very creative bistro food. Chicken is amazing along with many other items.
Food was outstanding - great variety, service awesome and informative. Drink price very expensive for small serving size.
Truly unusual dishes, and all delicious. Try the roasted beets with pistachio or their version of roasted brussel sprouts. All dishes are "tapa size"; you'll need 3 or 4 for a couple. Small wine card, nearly all at $13/$50; lots more beers. Friendly but professional service. VERY noisy.
Great food, changing menu, creative cocktails, friendly staff. Plus, crazy desserts!
Ever since its opened Brassica has been one of my favorite spots to get dinner. My partner and I love the creative food and the exploration the chefs take. Their cocktails are always fun and constantly being updated.
Absolutely love Brassica Kitchen. Would highly recommend the cafe and the restaurant.
This is now one of the best restaurants in Boston. And it’s not just “Boston great”, it’s actually great.
Brassica is an excellent restaurant with a creative menu. Comfortable environment. Great food and drinks.
Delicious dishes presented exquisitely, price affordably. Best restaurant in Boston!
We were there with a party of four so had the chance to taste four of the entrees and all were great. We shared a number of tapas and especially liked the fried rice. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, and someone even tracked me down the next day to say I had left my scarf. That would be unthinkable in most Boston restaurants! Definitely will return and recommend.
loved the food! the server was a bit much. he kept swearing and calling me bruh
If funky and outstanding is ok with you then this place is a home run. Food, drink, service and ambiance - all 10s. Enough said.
This place is a must! Everything we ordered was creative, thoughtful, and delicious. Do yourself a favor and try 'The Ride' - a perfect sampling of what makes this restaurant so tasty and unique. I will be back many, many more times.
Great food and great service. My only (very small) complaint is that I would have liked to have experienced the chef’s choice meal (The Ride, I think) but the waiter didn’t want to omit any ingredients for my girlfriend who doesn’t like a small handful of things. Whether that was his personal suggestion or the chef’s rules, I’m not sure. But overall, I really liked it.
One of the most fabulous meals ever! Each dish was outstanding and so flavorful. We were all oohing and aahing. The wine was amazing. Service was perfect. The marrow fried rice, salmon bellies and Brussels sprouts were standouts but everything was amazing! One of the most creative kitchens in Boston!
My husband and I went there on a date night. We were in the mood for something different. We were pleasantly surprised by how creative each course was. We had the 4 course package called “The ride”. It gives you a 4 course savory line up followed by dessert. Each thing that came out was so flavorful and creatively constructed. My husband is a chef that has cooked for over 20 years in many countries and he was blown away by the chef’s style and innovative ways. We would recommend this for a great option if you’re looking to be wowed in a casual setting. Brassica Kitchen is 5 star!
It was a lovely dinner with "The Ride". The wine pairing was great but the cost was not made obvious. Overall it was a great experience but the staff should make sure they mention the wine pairing cost.
I plan to return Brassica many more times! The food is consistently so very delicious! The chefs are very creative and innovative . The staff are wonderful. A hidden gem!!!
What an experience! I met a former colleague at Brassica for an evening of nostalgia and good conversation, and we ended up talking all about the food! The menu grows more interesting each time, as Chef Jeremy explores his Asian leanings. We started with the grilled carrots with crispy quinoa, and a potato bun. Both were delicious. We went on to the scallops with tiger cream celeriac and corn noodles. Exceptional! And, because one just has to, we added some of the trademark fried chicken (which the strangers sitting next to us wanted to try from our plate!) Dessert, which I almost ignored because I was near my limits, was a delicious invention of savory-sweet fruit and ice cream. My colleague cautioned me several times to please NOT lick the plates, but really, who would mind? As always, we had a terrific time, highlighted by a brief visit from the Chef and warm welcomes from the servers. Thank heavens for Brassica!
Excellent food ! Fine dinning food without the fine dining prices.
Food was excellent. Great cocktails! I will be back!
Very expensive, hipster-pretentious food. Servers’ descriptions of food and particularly wines are hilarious. They are so scripted - obvious when you ask a follow-up question and they can’t answer it. One of the servers described the fish as a halibut and then as a yellowtail. Could two fish be more different from one another?
Two of us ordered The Ride (tasting menu) and two ordered Full Ride (with wine pairing). Of each of the six courses, at least two of us didn’t like the dish. Wines were pretty terrible - almost mildew flavor on two, musky on others. Prices indicate a 4 or 5 star dining experience, but this food is just not up to par. Will not be returning.
Visited here once to try their ramen on the special Tuesday menu and HAD to come back to sample from the daily options. Did not disappoint! 4 dishes proved to be plenty for myself and my date, and everything was interesting and delicious.
This was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. Great food, and absolutely wonderful and engaged staff. We will be back very soon. Thank you for a great night.
Seriously guys. The. Best. Night. Thank you all for creating a space that is warm, inviting, crazy fun, and astoundingly delish.
the food was excellent and everyone was incredibly friendly
The food was outstanding. Best meal I've had in a long time. The services was also very good. Everyone was very attentive and accomodating. My wife and I brought our 3 month old baby and they made sure we had space with no issues. Highly recommend!
Never a Disappointing experience...The food, the staff, the vibe. J is one of the best chefs in the Boston area. Foodies Delight
Review is for the dinner and tasting menu.
Wife and I have been to a lot of Eater's top ranked restaurants in the city and decided to venture out to Jamaica Plain to give Brassica a try for a special occasion. We were pleasantly surprised with what we found. The ambiance and waiters etc were great, but cutting to the chase, the food was unbelievable. Every course was extremely well cooked, extremely original, and absolutely packed with flavor. The head chef came over to hand deliver some of the courses, and his excitement and passion for the food was palpable.
Have not been this impressed since we ate at Table in Cambridge. I would say the food at Brassica compares favorably, and I appreciate the additional courses.
The wine pairing was good, not great, but it's hard to complain for the price. Also worth mentioning that the cocktails here are also excellent and quite unique.
We are regulars and love the restaurant- this time though and for the first time the food choices did not quite work for us! Great service as usual and atmosphere
Great food, great service! Dishes are the perfect size for sharing- We ordered 2-3 per person and had fun deciding on our favorites, which made the evening fun and memorable. Leave room for dessert!
Delicious, inventive, seriously the best. Friendly stall, great service, changing menu. Always amazing.
As always, the food and service were spectacular. The food is creative and interesting. If you like new and different food, this is definitely the place for you. Their small plates are best when shared. That way you get to try more stuff.
Overall the food was very good. Ordered the brussel sprouts, the Sprouts were a little overdone and I thought overdressed, although the flavors were great. Would have liked a bit more brussel sprout flavor. The ribeye steak dish was great, if you like torched on the outside and Raw on the inside. Great flavors. Also ordered the beets dish, the beach were done perfectly and the dressing had great depth of flavor, perhaps just a little overdressed. The roasted sunchokes we're done very well and very well-dressed . The service was great.
Every piece of food we had was delicious. Complex, textural, balanced. Best food in Boston for awhile.
The cocktail program here is exceptional. As well as the good, I highly recommend the BK bolognese.
I had the honey pie for desert and everything about was perfect.
Good for a solo dine like I did myself, or to bring friends along and try their tasting menu. I didn’t get to try it but given the food I did have here I can only imagine is incredible.
Will definitely be returning soon!
