Bud & Marilyn's
Went for our 10 year anniversary dinner trip. It was very loud in there for 730, but not from the restaurant. Some tables were loud which caused everyone else to be loud to be heard. While it bothered my husband a bit, since he had a hard time hearing me, I didn’t mind the atmosphere. We loved the food and were very pleased with everything.
Great place, great food, and great service, but so loud!
We had a fantastic time at Bud & Marilyn's. We went on a Monday night and the place was quite busy, so we had to talk to each other a bit louder than usual. The fried cheese curds were a highlight, and we both enjoyed our entrées (shortrib stroganoff and fried chicken). Our server was friendly and accommodating, despite appearing to be quite busy. When it came time to order dessert, the funfetti cake was delivered with a candle and a happy birthday message, even though the only way they could have known it was my birthday was the reservation notes. It was a very lovely experience, and I would recommend it for dates and birthdays!
What a great find! A perfectly maintained restaurant from the 1960s. Original retro. Amazing food, had the pork chop, mybfiemd had the new york strip...both cooked to perfect temperature. Great cocktail, beer and scotch selection. Highly recommend!
Best FRIED CHICKEN & biscuits I have ever had!! It’s a MUST!! Moist, tender & crispy! Perfection!!! Desserts are amazing as well!! Love the funfetti cake & delicious flavors of ice cream that change all the time! We LOVE THIS PLACE🙌❤️
The food was great but service was too fast and we felt rushed. Our server took our drink, appetizer, and brunch order at the same time. Our appetizer arrived just minutes after our cocktail and our main course arrived less than 5 minutes after that. Then, we hadn’t finished our cocktails before plates were being cleared and were never offered another drink. We were out of the restaurant in 30-40 minutes which is great if you’re in a rush but this was a birthday brunch that we wanted to take a little time to enjoy. We might have ordered a second cocktail and desert had it been a different experience. To this restaurants credit, this has never happened before and it is usually a very pleasant experience there.
Cute little place with a great drink selection and creative brunch options! The shakshuka was fantastic.
Always love going to Bud and Marilyn's especially for the chicken! One of these days, I'll save room for dessert - they look awesome!
it was our first time their and it was outstanding the food, service I would recommend it to anyone and definitely try the fried chicken and the stuffed meatloaf
We will be back! Your food is amazing and priced perfectly! Awesome food that is not the norm at perfect prices! Quality! Try the Nashville Hot Buns, Wedge salad and Buffalo Ricotta! So scrumptious!
Friendly staff, good food!
We truly enjoyed. The Warm Pretzel Rods were a very unique and rare treat. We just had salads so hard to judge main courses but salads were creative. Service was good. The cocktail menu looks awesome. There was a nice happy hour bar crowd building when we went (on a Friday afternoon). We'd certainly return.
We got there about 2 so the lunch crowd was gone and the restaurant was quiet. I don't know how it would be full. The food was really tasty. I am a vegetarian and had many options. My son is gluten free and had no problem with the menu. I was little disappointed though because they no longer have their veggie burger on the menu. It was voted best in the city a while back so Im not sure why they discontinued it. We did not drink except for iced tea and soda.
Always great food and service. B&M is my go-to in Philly.
Food and drinks are excellent. We had the Char and the scallops and both were cooked perfectly. Also recommend the biscuits. The place was packed. Fun happy hour!
Very good food. Great service and very accommodating. We were late for our reservation and had to be at the theater by a certain time. Our waiter did everything in his power to get us to the theater on time. Next time we will be dining with enough time so that we can try the desserts!
It's fun environment and the food is okay. The kitchen needs a little work on seasoning food. Food was delivered way too fast which means its not really freshly prepared more like cafeteria steaming trays in the kitchen.
Also our server was not very attentive and willing to make simple modifications.
We ordered the grilled pork chop and both of them came back raw, not fully cooked!! We sent the food back to get recooked but it still came back raw! Other wise, I always have a great experience here. Just not this visit.
Delightful interior with a well-rounded menu; great for celebrating a special occasion. The cinnamon roll was worth the hype as well as the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (so fluffy) . Would definitely return for cocktails next time!
The food was delicious. Cocktails were perfect for a warm day. We had the bloody mary (hot spice level ordered) and raspberry lime cocktail called Lakeside. I had the best poached eggs (medium well ordered) with the Ohio Truck Stop entree.
The food was great. We loved the cauliflower appetizer. We had fried chicken and the pork chop and both were outstanding. And dessert is a must so leave some room and plan to take home some leftovers! We’ll be back!
great food and service - all our entrees were excellent
Waiter came over poured water, then disappeared for fifteen minutes. Finally came back and took our drink and app order. Somehow, after waiting all that time to just be acknowledged they brought out the app, took our entree order and served them in the next fifteen. The gritty slush came out in a barely half way full glass and no googley eyes on the orange, as seen in every picture online, so that was disappointing. The pretzel roll appetizer was far from hot and the cheese had already congealed and left a grease on the roll, but they at least tasted good. The main courses (the fried chicken and the fish fry) were very good as always and the biscuits are to die for, these saved the entire experience. Didn’t stay for dessert. This was our fourth time here and the first time i left feeling disappointed and that they just wanted to turn the table over.
Staff was super friendly and food was delicious. They were conscious to not bring out all our food too close together. Waitors recommendations were great
So much fun!!! Loved the atmosphere. The food was delicious!!! So glad we tried this place!!! The staff was so attentive! The cake amazing!!! Cheese curds yum!!!
I love love love this place...I want to come here every week ❤️
Great food, friendly service. Went for brunch and they seated us even though our entire party wasn’t there yet. Highly recommend!
great food -generous portions-friendly service staff-great value for price
Amazing cheese curds, beer/wine/alcohol somewhat pricey. Amazing chicken/biscuits. Our table was a little close to the couples sitting on our right and left.
Had my girlfriends birthday party here and it was fantastic! Service was perfect and they were able to provide a candle for the dessert. Food was stellar and drinks were delivious
Date night we love it here!!!
Incredible food and fantastic service. Everything was delicious!
Not only does Bud and Marilyn's have some of the best friend chicken I've ever had, they were also very kind and accommodating when my party went from 2 to 3 people at the last minute. Will certainly be back
The food was very good. So good, in fact, that after finishing our food (and enjoying it immensely) we found ourselves eyeing the food being served at the next table too.
It was a little on the loud side though, which was the only drawback.
The service was excellent.
Good happy hour place.
I made a reservation for one—on a whim because of the reviews and how close it was to my hotel. They seated me and the dinning room is GORGEOUS. I got the classic friend chicken meal and it was delicious! The biscuit and pickles stole the show—which was surprising. One complaint? My food came out before my drink was done... and about 4 min after I watched my server put it in the computer. So—we all know it wasn’t made to order. Which, I understand is probably the logistics of running such a popular restaurant with meals that do generally take longer. However, the optics made it feel like you served me a premade meal. Drink was delicious! Regale Beagle is a must.
Great food, cocktails and service (at the bar and when we were seated).
Especially if someone is staying at the Doubletree. Easy walk, strongly suggest reservations.
We enjoyed our meal—after we found the place. It fronts on 13th Street. This should be highlighted in the address, which is listed as 1234 Locust. I guess that is the address of the large building, of which B&M is a part, but it was frustrating to find. The Independence Hotel clerk (at 1234 Locust) pointed us in the right direction. The noise level was high, but it was Gay Pride Day and there was a party atmosphere all over. It’s possible that on a normal day the noise level would be lower. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
