Bud & Marilyn's is located in the heart of center city at the corner of 13th & Locust Street in the bustling Midtown Village neighborhood.
Delicious food and excellent service. Had a reservation and we were seated on time.
Waiter read very rude, he cut me off while i was trying to order then when i told him i wasn't ready to order my full meal he left the table without anyone else's order he never introduced himself and he clearly had an attitude he acted as if he didn't want to be there and if the tip was fir service then he could've split it with some whi brought iyer good and drinks because they were much more cordial as i started before he did not tell us his name but he was a short skinny white guy with earrings and a blonde ombre man bun if i ever come back i would like to sit at the bar to avoid having him as a waiter because id rather not get out of character in public not sure if he was having a bad day or not but i came to spend my money regardless of how cheap it was for restaurant week and i expected the service to be as good as the food and believe me the food was delicious
First time stopped for dinner before The Academy of Music... the food was amazing!!! A very pleasant surprise I chose it because it was close to theatre!! Can't wait to go back! Must try!!
I love the food at this restaurant. I have a reservation for next week to come back with friends who have heard me talk about it so much.
We had a wonderful dinner at Bud and Marilyn’s! We were seated immediately and not happy with our initial table. When we asked to move we were also immediately shown to a lovely table. It was restaurant week so 3 course selections for $35. The food was very good, the service was even better and it was a terrific experience. We will definitely return!!
The light level was so low that we and several other tables used our iphone lights in order to read the menu
All was good our server was Daniel and he was excellent.
Excellent dining experience. The food was top shelf. The service was outstanding (Len was our server). We will definitely be back!
Enjoyed great food, beautiful presentation, wonderful service.
We went on a date night during Restaurant week in Philly. It was busy but we felt welcomed and had personal attention from staff. The Restaurant Week wine pairing list was a great idea and value! They encouraged us to do the set menu for the week, which some places can tend to be snobby about. The food was amazing and we sincerely enjoyed the entire experience. We will be back!
Very good fried chicken. Wine was great.
It took a few tries to get a res. Don't give up.
Creative menu, great service. Cool vibes, awesome interior decor
Went for restaurant week, many choices on the menu. The cheese curds were fantastic! The fried chicken sandwich was also delicious! Everyone enjoyed their main entrees too except for myself which was the pumpkin rigatoni with short rib. Sorry, Not a thing I liked about it.
The desserts were also wonderful. The Mexican cheesecake and bread pudding are definitely must haves. I would definitely go back. Our service was good too .
We tried it during restaurant week and it was an enjoyable experience. The food was delicious! Highly recommended!
Attended restaurant week.Great food. (meatloaf & fried chicken) My son is still raving about the homemade biscuits! Great slushy cocktail. Great service. Only one complaint- cold sitting by the front door:
There were 3 of us, we did the fixed price as it was restaurant week. The appetizers were delicious, fried cheese curds, risotto balls and shaved brussel sprout salad. 2 of the dinners were great, meatloaf and pork chop. The short rib with polenta came out cold, sent back, meat was warm but the polenta was cold along with the sauce. Our waiter was great and went to kitchen to let them know that it wasn't warm. The only thing eaten was the short ribs. The blood orange thai basil sorbet was phenomenal as was the vegan mint chip ice cream. We were also given the bread pudding as an extra dessert to make up for the cold meal. That was delicious too. Overall, the experience was great. Would definitely go back. Maybe the chef was having an off night.
Comfort food to a new level. Lives up to everyone’s raves. Definitely will be going back for brunch.
My waiter was charming and the food was good 'upscale' pub grub. The porter I had was great.
Loved my trout dish for lunch. Well prepared food with options for vegetarians and vegans. Convenient location. Service and ambiance good.
Our server Jeanie was amazing. The presentation was also amazing. I enjoyed my salmon and my date had the stuffed meatloaf GREAT!!! The ambiance was also wonderful. I would definitely return.
The food was AmaZing!
Everything top to bottom was great ! Service is excellent from everyone we encountered. The food was spot on for everyone at the table ! Absolutely wonderful !!
The food was so good, the conversation stopped. My dinner date said the fried chicken was the best he every had - no small feat. My salmon was perfect. Highly recommend this place. Come hungry.
Awesome experience. The service and food were at the top of my Philadelphia dining experiences.
Went there for restaurant week. We tried each of the first course choices and all were very good. Second course three of us had the short ribs and one the pork chop! Both were amazing! Service was great, drinks were great and the food was even better!
Nice venue for brunch before a Sunday matinee at the Academy of Music. They make a very tasty Bloody Mary. Their grapefruit and cinnamon "mock-tail" was delicious. My vegetarian tofu and vegetable skillet was quite good and something I usually would never consider ordering! My wife's lemon ricotta pancakes (a huge serving) would have been perfect if not overcooked on one side. Every table was full but it was not overly noisy in the dining room.
Went there for Sunday brunch. We had reservations and our table was ready on time. Coffee, Bloody Mary and food were all very good.
Big fans of Barbuzzo and have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. Finally decided to try it for brunch and were not let down.
Wife got the lemon ricotta pancakes which were great. I got the vegetarian version of the biscuits and gravy which was amazing.
Interesting aesthetic inside and just overall a great spot.
With our “Open-Table” reservation they seated us immediately as we arrived on time for our 9pm. The restaurant was packed with an open seat plan. The type of place where you sit along other guests, however the tables weren’t so close that it was uncomfortable like some restaurants. Fancy and delicious cheeses as well as an innovative take at vegetarian dinning options. My boyfriend got the fried chicken which was classed up with scrumptious sides as well as an out of this world hot sauce. We absolutely will be going back. Delicious food, fast service and fair prices for an upscale date night experience. Thumbs up!
My friend and I truly enjoyed this place.
We started with the cheese curds - they were light and the sauces were excellent.
I had the Nashville Hot Buns which were incredible and she had the meatloaf (it was also delish!)
We got a side of biscuits because the honey butter is to die for.
Will definitely keep this on my list of restaurants for when family in friends come in town!
If you want great food, great cocktails, and a great atmosphere... Bud & Marilyn’s is your place! Highly recommend the scallops or the fried chicken. Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing. Food was delicious/reasonably priced and the service was quick/attentive. Will definitely be coming back again.
Amazing service and food. Try the fried chicken.
Cozy eating place with GREAT cocktails. Friendly staff who work hard to make sure that all guests are having an enjoyable evening. It is a bit cramped with tables very close but hey, you can make new friends that way. A real enjoyable pre-theatre dinner. I had their famous fried chicken which deserves the fame and my partner had the sea scallops which were impressive in that there were more than 4. IT was a delightful evening!
We loved the look of the space and the food exceeded our expectations! Definitely worth the drive into the city. Delicious and creative.
Great food and service. It was our second time here for brunch, it gets a little loud but the food is worth it.
We come here all the time. If you don't have a reservation, you can usually find a seat at the bar. Food is yummy and a good value!
Great vibe and great food. Beet and carrot salad was a work of art and tasty! Scallops, short ribs and the famous fried chicken were excellent. Delicious cocktails and great looking bar. Diverse menu with something for everyone.
Everything was perfect: Service, drinks, food, All I might suggest would be free parking and complementary foot massages :-)
