We love Buddakan and have been here multiple times but it’s worth mentioning our most recent visit was extra special thanks to our server Isaiah. He had such a fantastic energy and really elevated our experience. The food and drinks are alway top notch, but the service was the honorable mention this time. Thank you!

There was literally one server for all the booths outside. Felt bad for him... but sucked for people cause we would literally wait to get things. I wish managers standing outside and walking around could help him out.

In these ‘challenging’ times, there are few excellent outdoor experiences to savor, and Buddakan Philly is one such place. The excellent food and service was matched with safety. We could not have been happier. Thank you Buddakan staff!

Food is so amazing always. The waiter was very nice!

I want on a Sunday evening for dinner, and it felt like we were forgotten about many times. We also went to celebrate and birthday, which i specified in my reservation, but no one asked about.

The waiter said he would go over the menu with us, but never ended up doing so. We always want recommendations when it comes to food from the staff, and it felt like the waiter couldn’t care less.

We heard really good things about Buddakan, but it didn’t live up to the rave reviews. The wait staff didn’t have any urgency when getting us our drinks or food, and I only ended up having two drinks, and got my second drink about 15 minutes before we had to leave. The pad Thai also had an overwhelming smell of fish sauce, which was almost nauseating. I really wanted to love this place but I expected better.

Our meals were fabulous and the service was wonderful. The only complaint is that the music did not fit the ambience in any way. Instead of rock music, I would recommend some easy listening Asian music set at a low volume that fits the beautiful motif of this restaurant.

Expected a better outdoor dining experience from such an upscale restaurant. Too cold heaters weren’t enough for the space or temperatures. Invest in better heaters or leave them on when no one is in there so that it is some what comfortable when you arrive. Our light was out with no back up light bulbs so hard to see in the dark.

The food was average Chinese food and got cold very quickly. We ordered many dishes amongst the 5 of us and were not impressed with any of them. Very overpriced Chinese food.

Our dinner was excellent! Our server Clint made it even better! His suggestions were excellent. The restaurant did a great job with cover restrictions. We were very comfortable indoors.

We had a fabulous evening dining in an outdoor cabin! Loved our meal and were so comfortable even though it was a cold night. Food was delicious and server was great. Can't wait to return!

Food and service were excellent as always, but apparently the new “business casual” is sweats! Worse yet, we were almost relegated to the upstairs bar in our blazers and bow ties. Upon our objections, we were given a booth adjacent to the delivery-order staging. Not impressed after securing a reservation as soon as they became available for our date. Dining may never again be what it used to be.

This isn’t a bad restaurant but it’s way overrated. Not a fan .

Had been long time since last visit and first visit for my wife. Way to long between visits. Food was absolutely delicious. Very enjoyable in spite of COVID-19. The out door pods did not deter from our enjoyment.

Great experience overall ! Our waiter was very attentive & the food was great . He suggested the sugar donuts for dessert & I 100% will recommend to anyone . I’ve been here 3 times and this has been my favorite time by far !

For us service is typically our number one priority. You could have a mediocre meal and extreme service and the experience still turns out OK. Our service was terrible from start to finish. The only thing that saved the day was that our meals were good with a big exception that they brought my husband’s meal about 10 minutes after everyone else’s so we were almost done by the time he got his meal. I mean that is just basic 101. You serve everyone at the same time. Menu was extremely limited and the cocktail menu even less. Unfortunately we won’t be back anytime soon and this used to be one of our favorite restaurants so we are extremely disappointed.

Went for a Valentine’s date and must say was one of the best restaurants to go to for such an occasion. The venue itself is fantastic, looked at photos before going and it’s reasonable to say it’s more impressive in person. The food was our favorite part, however, with delectable meats to choose from; the spare ribs are a must-try, as well as the char-grilled aged beef. The portions are made for sharing, which makes the experience with others even more invigorating. Food is much better with people of course and Buddakan understands that. Overall, it was a magnificent experience and we’re definitely going again, special occasion or not.

Valentines Day

Outdoor setup is great. Separated sections, with heating ducts and space heaters in each.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the food, as it’s been almost 10 years since I last ate here and everything was stellar. Glad to see they have kept up the quality.

Can’t wait to go back.

Awesome food and service

the food, service and environment were all incredible! easily ranked in one of my favorite Starr restaurants, will be back! the specialty whiskey drink for the chinese new year was INCREDIBLE!

Excellent too 5 best fine dining experience I’ve ever had was a little discouraged about having to dine outdoors but the staff was able to accommodate us with indoor seats with a spectacular view food was excellent thanks to everyone involved

I made a reservation for outdoor dining, it was well set up and appropriately distanced from the other diners. The heaters were on the smaller end, and I personally did not find that they provided enough heat to be comfortable in 20 degree weather. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server Isiah was polite and provided excellent service. My only regret was that I did not inform the hostess it was my partners birthday, I made that information known on the reservation but did not reaffirm it upon arrival. It appears they provide a cute complimentary dessert to the celebrant, but I would double check with service. The indoor ambiance outpaces the outdoor ambiance my kilometers.

Buddakan was the perfect choice for a Valentine’s Day dinner. We tried four of their cocTruly, every aspect of the restaurant and experience is amazing.

Way too cold outside but food was great ......need to have heat actually coming through the vents I think they were just for show. It took us an hour to defrost lol I don’t recommend sitting out there!!

Great food great experience evening during the Pandemic

Amazing food!

Excellent food, wish they had the crispy shrimp but the crab fried and and shrimp lo mein were excellent. The lobster egg rolls were delicious and the Asian salad is very good and enough to feed 4 people., The drinks were very good, the joy and chatachare I believe. I will be returning.

I wanted to take my friends there because it was her birthday and she had never been so we traveled from Maryland to Philly just go to this particular restaurant. When I got my drink there was hair in it I showed it to the waiter and he just brushed it off like it was nothing and he offered me another drink. Nothing was accommodated just I’m sorry let me get you another one and considering the fact Covid is happening you would’ve thought that he would’ve been a little more apologetic and sincere and his apology but he wasn’t. This is my first time ever having a bad experience there
