French Onion Soup
Wonderful dining experience, great food and service!
Great breakfast! Pretty awful dinner. Overcooked filet mignon is criminal, accompanied by equally ruined foie Gras, and I've had better vegetables on airplanes. Wait Staff are wonderful and hardworking. Shame their chef let them down.
Great food and service…definitely coming back!
Food was excellent and the service great
Excellent experience. Brie appetizer, spinach and mushroom crepe were outstanding. Scallops and risotto as good as any we’ve had. Service was perfect. A nice place to go and not rush!
If you're looking for a place with a relatively calm atmosphere that has friendly service and great-tasting food, then Cafe Normandie is an ideal pick. There are also nice wine offerings and neatly presented dishes.
Great value. Great menu. Will be going there again.
Birthday and 4th of July
With the exception of 2020, I have traveled domestically and internationally much of my life. Last night I returned to Cafe Normandy for the second time after a three year hiatus. It was all that I remembered it to be. Without qualification this is one of the best French bistros I ever encountered either in the US or France. The 1/2 roasted chicken is exceptionally. Like every other restaurant, I'm sure staffing is an issue, which made service a little bit slower. However, it is certainly worth a five or ten minute wait.
Food was excellently prepared, delicious to taste, and nicely served. Restaurant ambiance was very warm, even cozy, and staff was attentive and easy to deal with. Excellent choice for any occasion.
We have enjoyed this place many times which is why we chose to visit for our anniversary. But Cafe Normandie has fallen down a bit. The room is cozy as ever. The waiter forgot our appetizers and there was some confusion about when to serve the salad which i suspect led to the chicken being put in a warming oven, it was very dry, a shame, it has always been a favorite. The apple tarte tatin was good but chocolate sauce with profiteroles was nearly tasteless. The dinner plates were not cleared until the desserts arrived and had to ask for water, all early on a relatively quiet evening. So whoever supervises the front of house needs to up their game and the food needs to get back to where they were. It may have been an off night, covid has taken a toll on restaurants, and we have enjoyed enough meals there to try again.
Tasty food, great service! Steak cooked just the perfect medium, wine was delicious and dessert chocolate bar was a great way to end the dinner.
Truly extraordinary food. I have ordered duck for forty years all over the world and would put last night's preparation among the top ten. Chateaubriand was very good as well. We found it a surprisingly good restaurant.
It was my family's first time at this restaurant. I made the reservations as a way for us to do something different together. It was the best (restaurant-related) decision I've made in a while. The food was absolutely fantastic! The duck I ordered, which I tend to be wary of, was surprisingly tender and scrumptious. The escargot, which I initially didn't want to try, was marinated and dressed in this exquisite garlic butter sauce! It was marvelous for the first time!
Best restaurant in Annapolis. Excellent food.
Another wonderful evening this time celebrating a late Mother’s Day and early Father’s Day. The food was excellent and though understaffed due to a last minute schedule change the servers were attentive and friendly.
One guest and her family tried to ruin things for everyone else but failed miserably so be mindful if you see a negative review around the time of this one.
Two couples for Sunday brunch. The food is consistently excellent at this restaurant. One of us had the mushroom and spinach omelet with Bechamel sauce and others had the veggie omelet. I mentioned to our waitress that after eating the omelet I’m going to stop making them at home and just come to Cafe Normandie for my omelet fix. I sincerely meant that. Service was outstanding— friendly and helpful but not intrusive. This is one of our favorite Annapolis restaurants, especially for Sunday brunch.
Great service (friendly and professional) and wonderful food. Save room for a dessert (crêpe !)
Like going back to an old friend- warm and gracious! Food was great and the early dinner selection was great
Food was good. Service excellent
We were elated to visit after reading about how this restaurant had been thriving for decades. The staff were friendly, food was delicious, and our overall experience was satisfying. Food was delicious and presented wonderfully.
Only part we thought was an issue was the ladies restroom odor being strong enough to ruin appetite.
Amazing food and ambience
Over the past year as I have missed dining in France, this has been my escape! The meals are quite authentic and the outdoor seating is amazing. Every meal I have gotten is well prepared, generous in size, and there is a great wine selection. Keep it up!! This is my number one go-to spot in Annapolis. Enjoy a nice walk around the water after your meal ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We had a wonderful meal. Our server was very knowledgeable and the food was amazing. Highly recommend!
Great food and service
Great food and craft cocktails as well as a good wine list. Calamari and escargot were delicious! Service was slow and at times frustrating, but I believe they are short staffed due to COVID.... We would go back!
Delicious food served by a friendly and cheerful staff that knows their business. The perfect mix of gourmet French cuisine with enough "tame" options to satisfy even the most finicky person in the party. Very highly recommended.
The food was fabulous and the wine. The service was outstanding. Great ambience. We will go back again when we’re back in Annapolis. Highly recommend you check this place out when you are in Annapolis.
Absolutely delightful. We will visit again when in the area!!! Highly recommend.
Great meal! Great food, fun time. Easier than flying to France.
Absolutely fabulous French cuisine. Raspberry duck & seafood pasta entrees were the best ever. Would definitely return to this restaurant in Annapolis, MD
Once again we took out of town friends to Cafe Normandie and, as always, our friends loved everything about the restaurant, the food, the staff and the environment. Our server, Jissel, is a gem, friendly and personable and made the meal even more enjoyable. Cafe Normandie is our favorite restaurant in downtown Annapolis and we'll be back again soon.
We had a great evening. Service was wonderful and the food and wine delicious. We were able to enjoy being out with friends again without feeling rushed at all. The gazpacho soup and roast chicken stood out as favorites. Nice wine list.
I had the french onion soup and shrimp Provençal. Delicious
Should have read the reviews as the service was absolutely horrible the restaurant maybe had 10 people in it and waitress never came around ..Water Glasses sat empty old plates stacked up and brought out entrees then salads which made no sense....Not good experience never returning!
Always love their crepes and the nicoise salad for lunch. Just had one of the specials...a sea bass on focaccia sandwich and it was a bit bland. Always outstanding service and ambiance.
Love this place! Great menu!
Delicious food - great atmosphere!
Wonderful as always except for the very loud group by the front window:)
