   We have been to Canoe many times previously, however this time the service was terrible. We were 4 people and the server brought out one main course prior to our appetizers, it was overdone salmon and clearly meant for another table. They didn’t clean our plates off the table until we asked, most of the food was good except the salmon and the dessert (the screeched tarte au sucre) which was terrible. Based on this experience I will not be going back anytime soon.

   We had our 16th anniversary and did the price fixe menu at canoe. I was worried at first about having bar seating but we had seats up against the windows with a great view above Scotiabank arena, Lake Ontario and could even see into the Rogers centre. George from Hungary was our waiter and he was great. Very knowledgeable about the menu, talked effortlessly about living in the city and missing home. All what we love about visiting Toronto. The food was fantastic. The oyster, wagyu/swordfish terrine, collard green wrapped halibut we're all well prepared, balanced and full of good surprises. We've been to our fair share of Michelin rated restaurants and seeing that Michelin is reviewing Toronto I'm excited to see if canoe gets a star rating. From a food perspective it's as good if not better than other starred restaurants we've been to.

   All was outstanding with one exception. The rhubarb in the rhubarb dessert should have been cooked. Eating under or uncooked rhubarb is like eating woody asparagus. Otherwise all was a fabulous experience.

    Pros: Our experience with Canoe restaurant was ok. The waiter's service was excellent. The quality of food and its appearance and presentation was good. We were sitting at the chefs rail and I would like to point out their professionalism. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and the view of Toronto was gorgeous. When chefs serve the dish, they describe what was in the food and how it was made which is an experience you do not get in other restaurants. Cons: We were trying a tasting menu. In one of the dishes (Veal), I almost broke my tooth on a tiny sharp bone. I showed the bone to one of the waiters and he showed it to one of the executive chefs (Ron McKinlay). We were expecting some sort of a comment or an apology, but nothing of that happened. While we observed the cooks at the chefs rail, we noticed that most of the cooks were not wearing gloves and hats. Very often the cooks were touching their wet hair, sweaty body parts, or their apron, and finishing/decorating the dishes without washing them. I think there has to be more attention dedicated to sanitation as this is considered a high quality restaurant.

    Gorgeous views of the city and their attention to detail with the food is well worth the price. The highlight of the meal were the starters; particularly the foie gras parfait. It was perfectly paired with the right amount of sourness from the rhubarb to cut through the rich foie.

    Wonderful dining experience! Food was very good, portion size was just OK. Wine was wonderful. Service was great, but the ambiance and view is what made this experience outstanding. Would not recommend the deserts. All three options we tried had components that almost ruined the dish.

    The experience was about taste Canoe. Liked that they added a personal touch when I reserved it for an anniversary. They added a " Happy Anniversary" on the table. The food was superb, too. Out of 8 dishes, I liked 7. Thank you

    I had heard lots of good reviews about this restaurant, but it was an utter disappointment. I had made a reservation and had included a special request to be seated in a private dining area for a special reason that day with my girlfriend. They had seated us in the middle of a bunch of people instead, even though there were many spaces that were empty and isolated. The waiter had ignored us for more than 10 minutes when we were trying to get their attention until we had to be very forward with wanting their attention to place our order. Waiters had made eye contact with us and looked away. This wasn't the kind of service I was expecting at a 4 dollar sign restaurant. The food was okay, but is definitely not worth the price you pay for. All in all, the experience was not worth it. There are many good restaurants in Toronto that have much better service and food.

    We did the tasting menu. All of them are great except for the veal sausage with foie gras. It’s the “odd man” of the menu .

    I really wanted to love the place. Actually i loved the main dish, the taste and texture met my expectations. But the appetizer and deserts were just too bad that I can't even rate them as 1 star. beetroot and ontario rhubarb are just to avoid. They should consider sending their pastry chef to take lessons in culinary school. Never had a desert this bad! I would say if you go there only get the main dish bc the rest is just bad...

    Perched on the 54th floor of the TD tower is a restaurant like no other in the city of Toronto. Unbelievable views. Unbelievable service. Unbelievable food. Much like the panoramic views, there isn’t anywhere else in the city doing food the way Chef Rob Mckinlay and his team are doing it. An unbelievable experience from beginning to end. Many thanks!

    Fantastic experience. Maybe an updating for the chairs at the tables should be considered though. The green velour reminded me of late 60's through the 70's decor. But food, service, value and views were fantastic!

    My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable experience at Canoe on the last night of our vacation in Toronto. As exceptional as the food was, it was second fiddle to masterclass in service Jesus displayed. Commendable would be an understatement. Despite only being at Canoe for two hours, Jesus thoroughly impressed us with his personality, attention to detail, knowledge of the dishes, and his uncompromising level of sincerity when trying to learn a little bit about us. There is no question that we will be returning to Canoe next time we're in Toronto and would be extremely lucky if we were served by Jesus again.

    Spectacular experience - 100% recommend the tasting menu. The service and staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and polite. Also, eating at the start of sunset makes for a gorgeous view.

    We had the chef's tasting menu. We found the items too similar in presentation. A few of them seemed very similar, with the same "look" and not enough differentiation in taste and appearance. Especially the main meat item (veal) it seemed was a mishmash of the previous items. It essentially was a dull version of a veal sausage.

    Breathtaking views. Elegant ambiance. A place to impress or have a special event. The food is inventive and was delicious. The fish lamb and vegetarian meals we had were so tasty. Small perfect proportions. Not an everyday event. The staff we very pleasant with great service. Not too much. And you can talk. It has a buzz but it is a small room with well spaced tables. Can’t wait to go back
