Founded in 2013, Capitol Cider is a two-story restaurant, full bar and arts venue located in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Capitol Cider is the country’s largest independent cider bar. It offers more than 170 hard ciders on tap and in bottles w/ four cider flights daily. Additionally there are 10 taps of craft beer, gluten-free beer, and craft cocktails. Dark paneling, a master copy collection of famous paintings, old books and period architectural elements create a warm and inviting ambiance. Vaccine card mandate is dumb and only serves to alienate people. Most people are vaccinated. Everyone is fine. Stop pushing an agenda. Only reason I go to this place is my kids allergies. Server seemed put out the whole time. She seemed unhappy. I tipped less because of “livable wage”. Your food is so expensive already when is enough enough? Make food not social agenda.

Excellent food and service. We sat outside and then heard music in the basement on a Wednesday night. You may need earplugs as the sound reached decibel in the hearing loss range…so much fun This venue!

We’re long time loyal customers. Yesterday’s meal was disappointing. Service was mostly a miss: our server disappeared and after a few minutes another appeared; the runner tried delivering our food to two other tables before arriving at ours, then auctioned it off. We waited quite awhile for our check and finally asked a random employee who noticed us flagging them down.

Make sure you get a reservation as this place is always busy. The cider choices are fabulous; prices are getting a bit steep as of late. Love the snacks too.

The food was good but not great. Fish and chips - fish was tasty but fries were lukewarm and soggy. Fried chicken sandwich - bread to chicken and veg ratio really off. Cocktail was tasty.

What a blessing to have a gluten-free restaurant that has excellent food and atmosphere. Our server even set up the patio heater on the sidewalk seating so we could “people watch” in comfort while we dined in the rain.

We were excited to be able to take our daughter in law to someplace where everything on the menu she could eat. Our server and the rest of the staff were very responsive to our needs and the food was very good, albeit over priced for most of our items. We might come back, but will always consider this place only for special occasions due to the cost.

Our experience last night was so-so. We went to celebrate a birthday but there was a live musician that was so loud. We couldn’t hear each other at the table. The space is kind of small for live music. Food was so-so. They were out of a couple things we wanted and that was disappointing. Anyway, maybe it was just a night off. We will try it again.

Ordered the fish and chips, calamari, cheese curds and dinner salad, all of which just fair and overpriced. The menu price that you download with the qr code didn’t reflect the actual price of the food. When we were given our bill all items we ordered were priced higher. Sat outside and had a man walk past with his pants down and that wasn’t the worst of it. Families with small children should be aware that this part of town isn’t kid friendly. The highlight was our waitress Amanda, truly a gem and one of the friendliest servers we’ve ever encountered.

We've had their takeout before - but this was first time eating in. It was great! Fish & Chips - awesome. Chili - awesome. We don't drink so can't comment on the brews. But they all looked great.

I have been gluten free for 15 years so it was exciting to go somewhere that is fully gluten free. The food was… okay. I got the fish sandwich and found that Burton’s was considerably better. Also the front door was open and it was freezing!! I did love that they wanted to see your vax card.

No idea how many times over the years I have eaten here. As a celiac it is so nice to have a place I actually like even if I didn’t have food allergies with an atmosphere I like & a place I can order like a “normal” person from planned gatherings with friends to one of my wife & my favorite spontaneous dates to eat here on the patio with our dog, sip a few ciders & then stroll over to Elliott Bay Books. Inside I really like the atmosphere/styling. More like a pub crossed with a library full of books & oil paintings where a sign painter lives. I’ve had birthday dinners here with about 10 friends to business meeting lunches with 1 person. Even my picky brother on a visit enjoyed it. The outdoor seating was a few small tables now a few more since pandemic began a bit squeezed onto the city sidewalk out front but we are thankful for the few more additional tables but if bringing the dog so we only can sit outside we’ll make a reservation.

Loved this restaurant! My partner has celiac disease and it was so nice to go to a restaurant and for him to have so many options. Since he is also a pescatarian by choice, everything on menu was clearly labeled which also made it super easy. The food was delicious!

our waitress was great. engaged and interactive with us. Music was TOO loud. Love the beatles, but it could go down in volume just a touch. We have been coming to the restaurant for many years. Would like to see it spruced up a bit, maybe change up the decor a bit. Food is alway wonderful and we really appreciate the 100% gluten free.

Disappointing. Left to languish at our booth for far too long without any recognition by server (maybe short-staffed, but quick acknowledgement should have been easy to manage). Burger ordered medium rare was medium well at best, veggies undercooked (should NEVER happen with butternut squash or Brussels sprouts), eggplant soaked with olive oil that pooled in the plate. Great meal last week, not so this week; will be a while before we return.

We have a celiac family member and Capitol Cider is a go-to for us. Even setting aside the gluten-free aspect, this place does it all right: fun playlist and atmosphere, truly excellent cocktail program, a kitchen that knows how to turn out way-tasty dishes, and quite good service. Fried cheese curds - light and irresistible - are a must.

I really enjoyed the dinner and the cider. My sister has so many allergies on top of her celiac disease so eating out is very limited. This was a really nice dinner for her. And the waitress was absolutely wonderful answering our questions.
