Caravan Exmouth Market
Relaxed atmosphere, great taste, the only thing to change is to bring starter first and then when starter is finished, the main course.
Lovely spot for a nice and not too busy evening dinner on a Monday eve. Great vegetarian options.
Great selection of food, friendly staff & great location.
Not enough nut free dishes and menu could be improved for allergy advice. Otherwise lovely 😊
Great food if slightly haphazard service!
The food was lovely, with an interesting menu and excellent preparation. we wanted soft drinks and the selection was limited, but what we had was very acceptable. It is a shame that the table was very sticky, which made one feel concerned about the general cleanliness.
Lovely place for lunch before going to Sadlers Wells.Really liked the small plates to share plus the desserts were gorgeous
Much better than the very loud kings cross restaurant
Good service, great location and nice vibe. A nice informal place to meet
A very lovely experience, the food was great and the service was excellent.
Only suggestion, give your front of house bigger note pads.
Another great meal at Caravan - it worked for our vegan friends, was delicious and imaginative, with a proper welcome and relaxed and very efficient service.
Very helpful staff who helped find a good table for us with our baby
The menu was very limited. There were two of us dining and both with our starters and with the main course they failed to bring both dishes together. One of us had to start eating otherwise it might have gone cold while the other was waiting for their meal. The side dish we ordered with our main courses arrived half way through our meal and only then after we asked where it was! Would not go again. There are better restaurants in Exmouth Market.
We had a lovely time here - the food was very satisfactory and served at the right pace. The cauliflower small plate was especially good. The ambiance was just what we were looking for - buzzy but not too noisy or raucous. The service was very good (especially from the Irish girl from Belfast) - attentive, smiling and chatty enough without being intrusive. I would definitely go back for a similar meal (7 people of mixed age range)
Thank you TommoFGR, Thank you for the review. we look forward to seeing you again sometime. Mel
Delicious food, friendly service, speedy turnaround, and lovely warm atmosphere.
Thank you for the 5* and lovely review. Very glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us. Mel
Very tasty food. Attentive and friendly waiter. Relaxing atmosphere.
Thank you JaneS. We will see you again soon.
Food was great, nice portions and very tasty. Menu has many options. Busy little place.
Thank you for your lovely review
Interesting dishes in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere
Hi Chrisp, Thank you for the review
Fantastically tasty food, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and at 6-7pm, noise levels which allow for easy conversation. Great spot for a pre-theatre bite.
Hi JaneK, So glad you enjoyed your experience with us at Caravan. We look forward to seeing you again at some point. Mel
Consistently fabulous food and buzzing atmosphere - our favourite pre-Sadlers Wells restaurant.
I'm glad to hear you enjoy visiting us at Caravan Exmouth Market. See you again soon. Mel
I love this restaurant. delicious food, staff that communicate and care, great ambience. Give it a try !
Thank you SheelaM. We always try our best to deliver tip top service. I'm glad you enjoy visiting us. See you again soon. Mel
First visit to any of the Caravans. Nice space with a neighbourhood feel, about half full on a Thursday evening. The service was welcoming, warm and friendly - probably its high point for me as I found the menu quite odd and hard to find anything that appealed. I’d booked it as my veggie companion quite likes it and she was happy. I sampled one of her cauliflower-based small plates and it was very tasty, but I am so over small plates and sharing! Instead I had the chicken “large plate” (great, now I feel greedy) and it was ok but not so very much bigger than the small ones. We both enjoyed the angel cake dessert. Overall not really for me.
Hi Chloie, Sorry to hear Caravan wasn't the one for you. Our concept is well traveled and therefor we offer lots of interesting flavour combinations that we hope will appeal to many. We change the menu a few times a year so perhaps the next one will be better for you. Kind regards, Mel
Very good food, good atmosphere and great staff
The staff were very welcoming and accommodating - we were late for our booking due to a confused Uber driver, and had not been able to get through the restaurant. However, on arrival the staff at the restaurant quickly found us a table and were able to re-jig other bookings so that we were not rushed - which was much appreciated.
I really enjoy the food, but it was quite loud and it was difficult to listen to each other
Hi JesusM, Thank you for the review. We will look in to finding ways to reduce the noise levels. Hope to see you again soon. Mel
Lovely breakfast as always, can't really go wrong with this place. Will return (as I always do...)
Thank you so much for the lovely review. We will see you again soon.
Great food, particularly as I have a friend with allergies. They now have a chart specifically for allergy sufferers and went out of their way to advise him. Great place but a bit loud!
Lovely staff, DELICIOUS inventive food. Not so good for gluten free, but veggie better than meat dishes (although no complaints there either). Cocktails also wonderful.
Thank you, We're very glad to hear you enjoyed your experience with us. We will always try and make our dishes gluten free where possible. Hopefully see you again soon.
Disappointing and over-priced food, over-crowded, very noisy. Overall very poor value.
Hi Gillian, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience with us at Exmouth Market Caravan. Please feel free to email email@example.com with further information. We would like to be able to investigate the issues further. Kind regards,
Great food and decent service.
The food was lovely but the waitress forgot some of our order and the cornbread came out cold. We were told one of the ice cream desserts was the same as affogato which it really wasn’t - vanilla ice cream with a scoop of very sickly sweet toffee sauce with the vaguest hint of coffee. The waitress also didn’t know or gave incorrect answers to questions about dietary requirements. The front of house manager guy was very friendly and gave much better service but the evening wasn’t quite as good as we had hoped. Would definitely return as the food and atmosphere is nice.
we thought we could get pizzas but then arrived and couldnt. Enjoyed the dinner in the end though!
We had a great meal with food wine and friendly service.
We very much enjoyed the food- fresh tasting and a lovely variety. The food came promptly- helpful as we were going to the theatre. Service was prompt and friendly. Convenient location of going to Sadlers Wells for a show. We would go back.
I would go more often if they were doing something about the sound insulation, its hard to have a decent conversation
I did really enjoy it much more than I thought I would- the service was impeccable: our waiter was very attentive, the portion sizes were perfect: we shared pretty much everything, every single dish was absolutely delicious and all the ingredients seemed perfectly balanced. We all agreed the best dish was the cod dumplings. I also appreciated the subtle darkness - made it all even better.
Great food, interesting menu. Music and background noise / acoustics were too loud to have a conversation. The service was very good.
Too noisy to talk. Very cramped tables. Food delicious. A pity.
Ate here before Sadlers Wells, sharing plates gave us just the right amount and food as good as ever. Lovely combinations of flavours and different from most places one goes. Highly recommended.
Service could have been more attentive, very slow at times. One of our meals was pretty bland but otherwise ok, not groundbreaking. We were a group of six and had a good time.
