Love the food-and the service (I believe it is Michael who served us) Food is excellent-and creative. Terrific place, and will continue to return. When it is full the noise level is a bit high. Completely understand that it is a small place, however, you may have look into a couple of things you can do to absorb the noise level like a couple of hanging rectangle cork ceiling panels.
Having said that it has no impact on us continuing coming back. Terrific Restaurant.
Service was excellent and accommodating. The food was very good. The noise level seriously interfered with making this a pleasurable dining experience. I don’t understand why people go out to dinner thinking they are in their own homes so that they don’t consider that there are other people around.
Great Place. Among the best pasta in the City. Made just an hour before they open. It’s. BYO which is a plus
What a great find! A real gem. Terrific food, excellent hosts.
Always above average. Excellent food. Exceptional
If I lived in the Rittenhouse area, this would be my go-to neighborhood restaurant. It's a BYOB without a corkage fee. The chef makes fresh pasta daily, including gluten-free if you request it when making your rerservation. The gluten-free pasta was the best I've had since being diagnosed with Celiac twelve years ago. My husband had a filet that was a perfect medium rare. We're looking forward to getting one of the front tables in the spring as they have folding windows!
This is our 2nd dinner at Casta Diva in a week. The food was very good and very creative. The service was excellent. The restaurant was packed and very noisy. However we will go back again because of the food
Service was great, beet salad amazing! Unfortunately, there was a very strong smell of a pesticide in the entryway that lingered throughout restaurant. The side dishes were only luke warm, barely above room temperature. The branzino was disappointing in being over cooked. So, overall, a very mixed experience.
Absolutely great service
Casta Diva never disappoints. Exceptional food, professional service, comfortable ambience.
Excellent service and amazing pasta
As usual, an excellent meal, wonderful service and enjoyable atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Spectacular pasta. One of Philadelphia's best restaurants but please don't tell anyone.
It had been a long time since we were at Casta Diva but not sure why. We had a very pleasant experience. We were seated at a small table towards the back of the dining room. It was reasonably quiet and being across from the service area was not a problem. Service was cordial and accommodating. Food was good. Calamari was excellent. Good Caesar salad. Orecchiette pasta was tasty and well prepared. Branzino was fresh, tender and reasonably tasty . Not a fan of the cauliflower sauce but it was not overpowering. Fantastic chocolate espresso crème brule. Prices are very fair. Good value. We will definitely return soon.
We really enjoyed our dinner here on Saturday night. The place was super busy, but our waiter was great. He was extremely helpful about the menu since it was our first time at Casta Diva and they were out of a few things. His suggestions were perfect. Everything was amazing - the artichoke appetizer, the fennel salad, the pappardelle with wild boar and the orecchiette with sausage. We ended with the flourless chocolate cake and the best cup of decaf I’ve ever had. Next time we’re in Philly, we’ll definitely be back.
The food is outstanding. Love that it’s BYOB. One of our favorite go-to restaurants.
We have been coming to Casta Diva now for a long time. New menu, some nice changes, but some of the old reliables still there. Buratta and peppers was great. Entrees of gnudi and tagliatelle and boar were outstanding. Nothing special on the dessert menu so we passed. Cash and BYOB. Overall one of our favorites for years.
Food is great, service is good, but you are really squeezed in. My husband had the special veal chop and loved it. I had the squid ink pasta with calamari - very good! We had started by sharing the fennel salad and that too was really good. I’d get those same entrees again if I go back, but I do so like the branzino there too...
I was there last Saturday, food was great, best dinner I ever had last few years in Philly.
Consistently excellent food, served well in a pleasant, low-key manner. The noise level is low and it is possible to enjoy the conversation.
Good food. Service was good but they forgot my salad until I had to ask for it. Said they took it to another table!
The quality of the food is outstanding. The whole staff is very friendly and warm.
Good food. Service was good. A little rushed but good.
This was our first visit but won't be the last. While we had to wait a while for our reserved table we met many interesting people also waiting. The food was fantastic. Scallop crudo was light and refreshing. Pappardelle with wild boar was just delicious. Our server - Dana - was delightful.
Great food along with attentive service.
The food was great and our wait person was incredible
Casta Diva is a great BYO in the Rittenhouse neighborhood. Excellent Italian food. Our server Michael was very good -- he even got the wine bottle open after the cork broke! I recommend the branzino - prepared just the way I like it. Casta Diva is also a very good value for the quality of food.
Really good creative food! Excellent service and quiet enough to carry on a conversation!
the pappardelli with wild-boar rage is outstanding, this is a neighborhood gem.
They seem to have scaled back there menu. Choices are far more limited than previous visits.
Food is consistently outstanding. We shared fennel salad and bruschetta, then we each had the branzino with cauliflower. You might think that would be bland - it was not - the flavors were delicate and interesting. We asked for a quiet table and got one in a corner. However by the end of our meal the noise level was way too loud and we had to shout. It is better on a weekday.
Very welcoming staff, cool, calm ambience and fabulous food. Creative preparation of superb
Ingredients. A wonderful menu plus at least 6 additional specials. Very difficult to choose just one or two, this restaurant requires a second or third visit from this diner.
The homemade pasta was delicious and the service was outstanding! Everyone loved their meals which is hard with a party of six!
Great service from Michael! Excellent food, perfectly prepared veal rib chop, and scallops! Loved the BYOB option!
We went here for an anniversary dinner. The food was phenomenal, but it’s a small space and quite loud. However, it is BYOB which is nice! Note that this place is cash only, which may be my fault for not knowing before going, but I had to run out and get cash mid-meal. Otherwise, it was a decent experience!
This was our second attempt to like this BYOB close to our CC home. First dinner was disappointing as both the veal chop and salmon were not cooked to the requested temperature. Our second attempt resulted in all three of the "branzino" specials being served lukewarm. Salmon was well prepared and to requested temperature, which given our earlier experience was more done than I typically enjoy. Given the tight table placement and noise level, I would be hesitant to return. Given the excellent wait staff and warm greeting on arrival, I may give it another chance.
Our “go to” BYOB in our neighborhood. Caesar very good as is the salmon. Pastas also very well made.
We love it.
Disappointing. Used to be a favorite. Hadn't been for a while because of a previous disappointment but went back with high hopes. Very uncrowded. We were greeted by a woman with a loud voice--much too jarring for the ambiance and she didn't tone it down throughout our stay. We could actually hear her talking with our server about her kid. Our server was more subdued. Very small menu. No contorni and few options for vegetarians. Desserts are $10 each--even for sorbet. Shared a Caesar salad--which I noticed two other couples also did. My dining partner had a nice mushroom risotto and I had branzino. The fish was a disappointment. The artichokes that garnished it were delicious but the fish itself was a bit dry and looked like a worn-out filleted brook trout. The fish sat on a bed of something white and creamy looking. (I meant to look at the menu when I left to know what it was, but forgot and couldn't tell by taste.) The white-creamy-stuff was cold, which sucked the heat out of the trout. So unsatisfactory. The server brought the check before we asked and came back quickly to collect. We are quiet and good guests and there were only three other couples dining--not polished service. Two entrees (not the most expensive) and one salad. $82 with a tip.
Having both a creative menu and offering BYOB, Casta Diva has just joined my list of restaurants to be revisited. The Beet Salad was both tasty and a work of Art and my steak was perfectly cooked and tender and tasty. My wife's Clams and pasta was well prepared and beautifully presented. Deserts were incredible. Overall a very good choice for a special dinner. with a loved one.
