Dinner was lovely.. We arrived late, but they were very gracious. Food was solid - some of it better than other dishes, staff were great, and we were able to have a relaxed dinner.. We dine their often - always satisfied
Warm trendy restaurant with a very welcoming staff and great menu. This time I had wi e but I will plan ahead next time by choosing one of the specialty cocktails to enjoy. We were ina booth, perfect for date night.
We got seated in the Bart which was over the top loud. Had to ask 3 times to turn down the Latin music. They did then kept turning it back up. I hate to be that annoying couple but it was horrible. All the food was very good though I must say. Service was little slow but the people are all nice.
The food was very good, although rather expensive. Service was excellent and the restaurant was easily accessible and we paid $10 for parking in the adjacent lot. It was very loud inside.
Family dinner out. Ordered the veal chop. Extremely disappointed. It was the last meal served to the table. I had no utensils and had to find a waiter to get some. The chop was quite thin and the polenta it was served on was cold. Not cool, but cold. For $38 It was shameful.
Stuffed into a table next to an isle, people kept bumping into us throughout the meal. Service was decent enough, but the food was terrible. Dry carbonara, and an absolutely flavorless Salmon. Time to find a new Chef.
Honestly love this place but they had a private party and were unable to serve the private party downstairs and the dining room upstairs simultaneously. We ordered apps and entrees together, took 35 minutes to get our appetizers which were cold, It took about an hour to get our entrees some were very hot some were cold. Maybe the worst service I’ve ever gotten at a restaurant.
Outstanding food and service!
Amazing fresh pasta dishes and cool atmosphere. The wine list is limited in comparison to other Italian restaurants, but they have a good selection if you're not picky!
Dinner With our son
Everything was great! Excellent service and food was awesome. Would highly recommend for brunch or dinnner!
Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Had to wait a bit for my table, but the Maitre d’ was charming and kept us aware of the progress in our wait.
Excellent food. Wait staff was far far overworked, but not unfriendly although clearly frazzled. No one ever checked with us if we wanted drinks refilled (that must be a particularly costly omission for a restaurant), or how our food was, or if we needed bread or water refills (we got bread after flagging down miscellaneous staff twice), or even said they hoped we enjoyed the evening after we finally got the bill. Took a long time to get waited on, and took a long time to get food after we ordered. Very friendly table-clearer tried to take my dish when I finished even though the rest of the party was still eating. That at least was an amicable exchange as we gently explained the proper etiquette to her.
It took one hour to get our main courses and we had to send them all back. The steak was overcooked, the salmon was under cooked and skirt steak was cold. Even thought waiter was nice and tried his best, he was clearly overwhelmed. The manger was not pleasant and after 2 hours we could not wait to get out of there.
Excellent food, great service, good pricing
We love Cinquecento! The food is always excellent, and we love the decor and ambiance. We all enjoyed the salumi platter and the rigatoni norcina is very good. Other dishes our party of four would recommend were the branzino and the mushroom soup.
The ambience is fabulous. Drinks were excellent, service prompt and super friendly and the food followed suit. Delicious bolognese and a fresh, tasty grilled salmon made us want to come back!
We brought our 3 teenage grandchildren; your restaurant is perfect for kids that appreciate good Italian cooking. Artichokes were especially good.
We had a delightful experience and a perfect way to close out our Christmas Eve tradition of a special dinner after Mass. My friends had never been there and now can't wait to go back. The service was perfect and the food so very well prepared and tasty. Even tho it was getting late and a lot of parties were leaving - we were never rushed or pressured to leave. Overall - it was just wonderful. Thank you!!
We were a party of 13 and went for Xmas eve dinner. Drinks and food were excellent and Emma who was both the bartender and our waitress was outstanding. Efficient service, great drink and food recommendations and super sweet.Food was very good and we had a lovely Christmas Eve.
Excellent food and drinks, awesome desserts. Friendly service. Pleasant ambience, imaginative interior design. Will come again soon.
Christmas Eve celebration.
Change in management really has made a difference here. The food has always been good, but now the service is there too. We will be back much more often.
Good as always. This is our go to restaurant in the south end. Food is solid and service and atmosphere is great. Free parking is also a huge plus
Perfect night out to celebrate the holidays with good friends. The food was terrific and our service was outstanding. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable.
One of my favorite spots in the south end. The food is consistently good. Was here on a Thursday night and the place was exceptionally packed (and louder than I expected). Lots of after work pre-holiday gatherings I assume. The hostess and waitstaff looked a bit overwhelmed, but they generally did fine. The chicken is still my favorite chicken in the city. The 2 appetizers were not as good as I have had them in the past. The fried artichokes were overcooked and were very dry and crunchy. The octopus, which I normally love, was cut into small pieces and was also overcooked. The pastas we got were great and I love the bread they get here as well as the wine and desserts. Not their best night, but I will be back. By the way, I come here for brunch often and the eggs with truffled polenta and mushrooms in incredible.
We had a great dinner here tonight! All of the dishes were really good, but the server at times seemed like he did not want to be there.
My wife and I went to the restaurant with another couple. The drink menu is interesting and the drinks were delicious. We fully dined with 3 apps, 2 pastas, and 3 entrees that we all tried. Everything was absolutely yummy. Dessert was also great — I loved the banana torta. The service was friendly, informative and accommodating.
Excellent bolognese, grilled octopus and chocolate budino!
I always have a great meal and service - I love this spot.
Great experience as always!
We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation. Not seated 'till 8pm. Waited 10 minutes for a server to come to the table. Took a drink order that didnt arrive for 15 minutes.. left drinks and disapeared for 25 minutes. Had to go to the managaer stand to chase him down. Dinner did not arrive untill 9:30. Remember we had a 7;30PM resevation. OUr companions said they would never eat there again.
Jeff Gates says he cares, but in my expierence he doe not.
Another stellar dining experience at CINQUECENTO! My bolognese was simply perfect and my dinner mate's fish dish was exquisitely prepared.
The wine of course, was spot on and the service- impeccable!
They were out of bread and several other dishes. Service was very slow. One of the main courses had a sharp piece of plastic in it. The person luckily caught it when he started to chew the bite of food he took. They randomly brought drinks we didn't order. We assume they were as compensation for the slow service, but that was never explained (we didn't get charged for them). Overall the experience was lacking especially compared to previous visits.
Music was very loud, our Main Server didn’t really pay attention to us. Didn’t check back or refill coffee.
Came here for our Girl’s Christmas celebration. The food was excellent and our surfer was very attentive and friendly. We were surprised that they were out of bacon at 11 am on a Sunday but the rosemary ham was delicious! Everyone ordered something different and no one was disappointed.
Been here many times. Good service, fun ambiance, and a nice wine list. I was disappointed by the cacio y pepe contorni, as it tastes like bland plain spaghetti. The cheese and salumi tray came out missing one cheese. So, stay with tried and true faves like Bolognese, prosciutto wrapped veal, or branzino. Panna cotta was a nice way to end the meal. I’d definitely recommend but don’t be experimental with what you order!
Had a wonderful meal. Shared the octopus starter with my husband, shared the kale salad which we both loved, and shared the linguini ala vongole. Even sharing, we had enough and everything tasted wonderful.
Basic american-italian food, somewhat overcooked, a lot of sauce, not warm enough. Slow service, although not very crowded at 7:30pm on a workday.
