From 7-9 p.m. on the deck. Get your friends together, make a team, and come to be challenged!
The fog could have been better from waiting over 1 1/2 for them. The starters were great. The main course had a long wait, cold, seemed it could have been better. I would give this place another chance. We only had 7 people in our group.
Never disappoints!! I’ve been to many Clyde’s restaurants and they are always so good! The crab cakes are my favorite! Had the lobster this time too! Which was so good and sweet!
I ordered an Arnold Palmer, and it never came. I asked the server again, and she forgot again. So weird. I never got charged for it, but it was a gap...
Good food and service. An enjoyable evening for our party of five. Our Server was particularly impressive.
Seated quickly. Food was good. But miss-communication between server and kitchen. French fries were supposed to be unsalted and came to table salted. Green beans were supposed to be steamed, no butter and came with butter. The waiter did not offer to bring it back again the way we had ordered it. So we were disappointed with the service. We enjoyed the ambiance and it was Sassy to have conversation because it was relatively quiet. Will come again and next time make a more pointed request about no butter and no salt.
Not sure if the restaurant is under new management, but if so they should go back to the old management. I say this because I have been eating at this restaurant for years and this is the first time that I have been totally disappointed with the food. The grilled corn salad had lots of corn husk in it, the main lobster seemed to be less than the size stated on the menu and the coleslaw wasn’t good at all. I don’t plan to eat here again. It is definitely not worth the prices they charge.
Excellent BLT sandwich!!
Great place for visiting with friends. ( very quiet )
Easy access for people using wheelchairs or walkers.
The wings were amazing
The food at Clyde's is always top-notch, and their seasonal dishes make it easy to try something new every time. Their cocktail menu and beer list are good, and the wine list is very extensive. This isn't a "get dolled up in fancy dress" place, but it's still nice-casual, and a great spot for an intimate dinner or a special occasion. The rustic decor is a fun touch, full of objects that make interesting conversation starters while waiting for dinner to arrive.
The only down-side was that our booth was chilly due to the vent above, so if you get cold easily, you might want to bring a light jacket or sweater.
Great food and fast service, seeing as we had only about an hour and a half, food came out quite speedily. Quality was very good
Celebrate my birthday had a lot of fun. Service was great. Will recommend to Friends and family.
The food and service are always consistently great, with special accommodations for allergies and other food restrictions. They meet expectations every time!
I’m a frequent happy hour oyster patron, and the monthly specials are awesome, especially the lobster special on mow.!
Food was very good at a reasonable rate. Our waitress was not so good. I had to ask if there were any specials. Oddly once she told us about the specials that’s what we ordered.
Food took a long time to come out and my wife’s potatoes were cold. Overall food was very good.
Waitress was hard to find for follow up drinks and even harder to find to pay our bill. I ended up chasing down another waiter who took care of it for us. I guess it was the manager who brought my card back and mentioned that our waitress had not given us the early bird pricing so she adjusted it.
Great restaurant but I don’t think our waitress had her head in the game that night. It was just the 2 of us and a table of 6, I think she should have been a little more attentive.
As always, the Lobster special was perfect. Beautifully cooked lobsters, excellent french fries. I would have liked a little more cole slaw. One of our party had the Lobster shepherd's pie which he really liked. Shout out to ur server, Lorenzo, who was super.
Our waiter was over-worked and did not have sufficient time to devote to our table as would be expected.
Although our waiter was working very hard, the service was definitely substandard. We had the impression that the restaurant was short staffed. Perhaps someone did not show up. He tried, but there was a lot of lag time with dirty dishes, etc. It dragged on so long we did not get dessert or coffee, even though it was a birthday celebration for me.
Food was good, no frills. They make you feel welcomed and create a pleasant dining experience.
Service is slow and the fried fish meal is over priced but burgers and other food is good at descent price.
Lobster special going on now. Two of our party got the lobster and it was great. Very reasonable priced. Another got the fillet mignon special. Also great for the money. Another got the scallops. Nothing disappointed.
This Clyde's was very nice. I held a business meeting for 12. They accommodated us very well. We were able to order quickly, have some time for our discussion and the food seemed to be delivered at just the right time. Everyone seemed to enjoy the room and the food was served hot and tasty. I would recommend this restaurant and the Mark Center location for any event.
Excellent food served quickly and hot. Best crab cakes in the DMV.
We went to eat the lobster special advertised, but were met with a sign at the entrance that they had no lobsters, only the lobster pie that did not appeal to us. This was within days of receiving the email advertising the lobster special. In addition, they did not have the dessert we had settled on from the menu, peach shortcake. In addition to the inability to get those menu items we wanted, service was very slow. Obtaining additional bread and water while waiting for our entrees required multiple requests. The wait for entrees was far outside the bounds of reasonable for a restaurant. We will not return to this restaurant.
The service was slow and the food was very average.
The ambiance, the quality of the food, and the pricing are all top-notch!
Met long time friend whom I haven’t seen in a year because I moved out of state. We talked over dinner for three hours. No one rushed us out. Although the restaurant and bar was full, still quiet enough to carry a conversation across the table. We both enjoyed the liver entree. Best in the area!
Nice place for a drink and meal. Very casual. Plenty of parking is a big plus.
I have soy, diary, and gluten sensitivities, so eating out is always a crap-shoot. I had a business dinner at Clyde's and was very pleased with the way the staff worked with me to keep me allergen-safe. The meal was excellent, our server was friendly and helpful, and I will definitely go again the next time I'm in Alexandria.
I normally enjoy the food and servers at Clydes, but my dinner was awful (scallops) and the server was either inexperienced or just bad at his job. ALL other times have been great.
Food was excellent and service top notch!
Always enjoyable! We meet up a couple of times a year and always pick Clyde’s.
We ordered glasses of wine at the same time that we ordered appetizers, but the waiter never brought them until two of our family of three had already finished dinner. We were the only ones in the dining room, but after serving the entrees, the waiter never reappeared until he brought the wine. The food was good as usual, but the inattentive service detracted from its enjoyment.
A lovely Sunday brunch.
This has always been a great place to gather for lunch or dinner or brunch...the staff is always friendly and gracious...the surroundings are cozy and inviting making you want to linger for a awhile. The food is always great with a variety to appeal to anyone. It is the best locale and restaurant in the west Alexandria area.
We informed the waiter we were there for a birthday celebration and he said he would do something but he did not and never recognized it. Additionally there was no bread served on table like every other Clyde's I've ever been to and food was just okay, nothing special.
A great casual restaurant that's off the beaten path, so it's not crowded and noisy on a Saturday evening. Decor is delightful: a sailing theme in one dining room, hunting and fishing in the other.
crappy hamburger - chef needs to see Mike's American burger
consistent menu, staff, and ambience. always a good time!
