Clyde's at Mark Center
Just so-so. Nice service and noise level, but not the Clyde’s of old.
A favorite last minute go to restaurant.
Great food, service and very reasonable prices. Just a great place.
We returned to Clydes at Mark Center, 36 years after we first met there (aka Carnegies). The food and service was excellent. Recommend the crab cakes as they were the best in the DC area.
Always good service and good food! Enjoyable always!
It was like I wasn’t there. Took 13 minutes after I sat down before they took my drink order. Waiter said they just put bread in and it would be out soon....the bread never came out although other tables got piping hot bread and butter. Drank my tea and never got a refill or offer for another drink. When my entree arrived I asked for cocktail sauce for my crab cake and after 15 minutes and letting the food get cold I decided I better eat it. Server never brought the cocktail sauce. Even after he came back and asked if everything was okay.
There is no way to recover from bad service, especially just being up purposefully ignored by the waiter. Waiter apologized and brought a manager to come by. Management acknowledged the area needed more staff...so they knew this happens and did nothing. I didn’t want anything but to pay and leave. Never wanted to leave so bad after an experience like this one. Was so excited to get the reservation and also when I entered the restaurant....but just wanted to leave.
This place was recommended to me....am sure they got much better service than I did on this particular night. On the bright side...the raw bar was very good and my entree was as well....would have been better with cocktail sauce. Crab cake entree does not look as big as the photos make it.....very small portion for price point....bread would have been nice.
Am sure there are others who have had better experiences....it just wasn’t my time tonight.
Great place for a good business lunch experience
Clyde's has been our "go to " restaurant for entertaining important guests for years. Last Saturday it was terrible.
-Arrived 15 minutes early. Receptionist finally found reservation. My offer to show on phone refused. Asked to wait until remaining two in party arrived.
- Remaining 2 in party arrived 5 minutes early. Same receptionist could not find reservation again!. Showed her my phone. Gave an escort a table # then called us back, saying she made a mistake.. We were then taken to large banquet room with tables for probably 20 or more. (Our party of four seated on the side). Noise from two large tables with large parties was very loud and distracting. Given that we arrived early we should have been seated in smaller room with more ambiance, where bar is located for example, as we always have in past.
- Was surprised by paucity of choices on menu for entrees.
-Waited for server for 10-15 min altho she came by once, apologized and said she would return soon.
-Water and iced tea glasses were not refilled. Server never stopped by to check once meal was served and we had finished eating for a very long time before dessert menu was offered.
- Salmon and Trout presentation was awful. Served skin up. Trout was two strips, not from fleshy part of fish...looked like from just forward of tail. Did not taste good either.
In summary, a terrible meal and experience. We will not be back. We would be embarrassed to host there again. From the reception to the seating to the service to the food, I was shocked at how this restaurant has declined.
Food was good but the fish lacked taste. There was a lot of noise but not to the point that it was annoying. the total experience was Ok.
Service was fantastic. We stayed quite a while talking but never felt rushed and always felt cared for.
Very friendly and competent weitresses. Good food ana ambiance.
Service was great. They remembered it was my friend's birthday and brought her a treat.
As a family, we dine at many of the Clyde's restaurants. Clyde's at Mark Center is our favorite!
Was great having brunch and enjoying the US Womens soccer final in France.
Great food and service. Consistently good.
Clyde's is our go-to low-key neighborhood place. Food is consistently good (although the lemon ricotta in the caprese salad didn't excite us), service is superb, decor is interesting, noise is low. The blackberry shortcake was remarkable!!
The team at Clyde's always delivers expert service with a smile. Even when dealing with my "particular" father-in-law who can often be abrupt, they addressed all of his concerns with flair and class and made the meal a memorable one for us all. Thank you to the team!
Always great food-fresh and seasonal. Nice place to dine and have a conversation.
The crab artichoke dip did not suit my taste. The bread with butter was much better. The only reason I ordered it is because the server recommended it. I came to clyde’s try their blue crab biscuits but it was not available. Also, the fish and chips was a letdown. It was a 2-piece fried fish in batter but one of them was not the white meat part of the fish. I did not bother to complain while having dinner since I did not want to spoil my wife’s birthday celebration.
My steak was cooked & seasoned to perfection. One of the best I've ever had (and I'm no spring chicken).
We always have a positive experience at this Clydes. The decor, food, and professionalism of the staff is great. We were extremely happy this time as our waiter Ian was outstanding.
I was so impressed how we were cared for a served. Food was hot and delicious and the service was tops. Will def be going again.
May, our server was excellent and especially kind to my handicapped friend. As always the food was delicious. And the low noise level enabled us to have a good visit.
Clyde’s offers diners quality ambience and a peaceful sound level for appropriate dialogue along with excellent food and a wide range of delicious items that are always tasty and delightful served in a timely manner!!! Plus pricing is reasonable for the area!!!
The food was delicious and our Waitress was Excellent!
Great food and drinks, convenient to my business meeting. Quiet booth enabled good conversation.
Normally Clyde’s Mark Center is one of our favorite places to take friends. Sunday definitely was not a good day. Service was terrible. Drinks were served piecemeal. One of our party of six wasn’t served his dinner until the rest of us were finished eating. The manager did comp his meal and apologized to us all. Overall it was embarrassing when it was our suggestion to meet there. I will say the food and oysters were excellent, as always.
Our waitress wasn't that great. Very rough, not very diplomatic. Nice lady but she needs a bit re-training.
Beautiful setting and food was delicious but the service was very slow and our server was not very attentive. They weren't that busy so there's no excuse for the poor service.
The Food was Absolutely Delicious and the Waitress was very kind and attentive!
Our party of 4 was seated in an area having large groups. The noise level was very distracting. Our wait server was pleasant, however she err'd on one guests item. This was corrected promptly and comped by management, but still not an enjoyable experience. One guest who ordered liver was served a very tough, end cut which was not edible. He brought it to the attention of the wait staff. This piece of meat should not, under any circumstances, have been prepared and served.
I greatly appreciate that
Fine early supper on the way home from the theater.
Clyde's at Alexandria has excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The crab salad biscuit appetizer was delicious. All of our dishes were fresh and well prepared. Great place to entertain family and friends
Always a good dining experience. My only negative feedback is that portions could be a tad bigger for the money.
Drink prices went up drastically. Food portions are smaller.
Fernando was a delightful host. The food was beautifully presented and substantial.. Wine was adequate but not chilled enough. Water was not iced but that was corrected. Interestingly, the menus listed certain items to be served with the entree, but we had to ask for some of them. All in all, though, a great evening with very fine food.
The restaurant smelled old and was dark. The fried calamari was over fried and very salty. However I was was fantastic.
The best neighborhood restaurant in DELMARVA. Nobody does it better!!
Clyde's never disappoints. Our maitre d', waiter and servers were all great. They went above and beyond to find a missing member of our party. The food was excellent, the service swift and polite. It was quiet enough to actually hear each other talk. I'll come again.
