Well the silver lining about Clyde’s closing after 45 years is the general manager Liz will no longer be around to spread her unique blend of a hostile personality and poor costumer service to the patrons in Columbia. The bad news is that Columbia staple is closing after 45 years. I feel badly for the patrons at Tower Oaks Clyde’s where the GM is headed.
I am sad to see this restaurant go. Amazing food and staff.
As always we had a wonderful meal at Clyde's of Columbia. We liked what they are doing to prevent Covid-19
Sad to see this place go. This is the heart of the lakefront
Love Clydes... love Columbia location, staff and food. Thanks for the wonderful memories!!!
Another thoroughly enjoyable experience at Clyde’s - so sorry to see it leave Columbia.
Wonderful as always! I hate that they are closing!
Sorry that Clyde’s of Columbia is closing. Big mistake
This was my last meal at the Clyde’s of Columbia I’m going to miss everything about that place
Closing on July 18, 2020.
Very sad. They will be missed.
The food and service were excellent.
Our only problem was that because we booked on Open Table we were placed at the bottom of the waiting list for outdoor seating.
We had reservations for 7:15pm (outside sitting), but were waiting 50 minutes, because (like manager said “ we do not guarantee outside sitting”. That I nformation was not displayed when I was booking a table, the manager said that they called me in the morning, but this wasn’t true. Also, they don’t have oysters, because they go out of business in two weeks. We only found out when we made an order.
Went to Lunch outside at Clydes so sad they are closing. July 18th.
We have been going there for over 30 years! Lots of business lunches and “Dates”. Great food today, great service from Ryan. Good luck to all the restaurant staff to find new employment.
Ms. Liz is the BEST!!! Food superb as always... I was very happy with the Covid19 friendly setup. My friend enjoyed her Bday so much. Our waiter was a delight! Gonna miss the Columbia location because it is always a great value for your time and money!! Wonderful view of the lake too!
It was a nostalgic visit to Clyde's of Columbia. My husband and I had our blind date there 29 years ago this month and we heard it was closing. We ate inside, as we had 29 years ago. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was a wonderful lunch. We've been to many Clyde's over the years - always a great experience. Farewell Clyde's of Columbia.
Went one last time—sure will miss Clyde’s of Columbia
Love this place so much! Sorry it’s closing!!
Can understand why it is closing. Mediocre at best.
Sad it'll be closing soon. This is one of the best restaurants in the area. Beautiful view of the lake.
We went to Clyde’s to celebrate my step-Dad’s birthday. The food was excellent, service too. We are so sad the Columbia location is closing. Clyde’s is great.
The patio was set up nicely with adequately spaced tables. We had a wonderful meal.
I would recommend that everyone who has loved Clyde's for the past 45 years go within the next two weeks, because they are closing on July 19.
We enjoyed our dining experience and our waiter Joe, and especially enjoyed
the music from the 60's and 70's that was playing. Sorry to learn that the
Columbia, Maryland location will be closing on July 18th. Hope they relocate
elsewhere in Columbia. Thanks and good luck. CDS
We have been dining at Clyde’s in Columbia for over 40 years. We have never been disappointed in the food or service. Our recent experience was great as usual. We are extremely sad that Clyde’s is closing this location. We want to sincerely thank management, servers and the owners for many memorable meals throughout the years. Best wishes to everyone.
Too bad Clyde's of Columbia is closing. It's been an institution for 45 years and had enough $$$ via corporate to survive COVID.
I would always recommend this Clyde's to anyone, unfortunately they will closing for good soon which makes me extremely sad. It's always been a welcoming place with a good menu which changed from time to time. So sorry to see it go
Great food and great service! Such a wonderful atmosphere
All was good except the server did not stay on top of drinks, or was hard to find to order extra sauce and lemons for calamari and crab dip. He admitted they were short staffed.
Great! Sweet Potato quesadillas were awesome!!! :)
We had an amazing experience! We are so sad to learn that you are closing. The Lakefront won’t be the same without you!!
Covid safety procedures in place & followed. Great food and service excellent.
Classic Clyde’s in Columbia!
It was fine except the sign said to wear a mask when conversing with staff which I did. However when I was talking to my party the waiter came over to pick up dishes and said I should be wearing a mask when he’s at the table. If that’s the case the sign should say so
The food was really good and I felt that the restaurant was doing a great job of allowing social distancing and I did not fell unsafe which was nice. I also understand and didn't really mind the restaurant's requirement to wear masks whenever our waiter approached the table. However, our waiter seemed to really be "lingering" at our table when it was unnecessary and it was super annoying. For example, rather than bringing everything at once, he'd bring coffee and then creamer, and then come ask us another question (meaning we had to put masks on each time!). After getting our food (30 minutes after we ordered), he came over and asked us how it was after about 2 minutes but seriously talked for over two minutes to us which meant we couldn't eat and had to wear our masks. And it wasn't us talking; it was him! He just made it super awkward because it felt like we had to put on masks every time he came by (which was a lot) even when it should have been as simple as placing something on the table and walking away. I recognize this is new for everyone so I'm providing this feedback in hopes that the staff will recognize they should limit their interactions and try to reduce the amount of time they are talking to guests and thereby forcing them to keep their masks on.
Our first outing in months and Clydes made it special. Great food and service.
The Clyde’s staff smoothly handled the COVID-19 dining requirements. My bacon cheese burger was 👌 Should have ordered strawberry shortcake which is excellent at Clyde’s.
Our service was good as well as the food; however we did ask our server for our steaks to be medium (pink in middle); however they we not but were not tough. We dinned outside on a perfect day w/ a little breeze. I would recommend Clydes to others. cj
Excellent customer service!
We had a corner all to ourselves. The service was very good and the menu items we selected were excellent. The ribs could have been cooked a little longer and the sauce needed more zest. My partner had no problem about his crab cake. We both agreed that we would look forward to dining there again in the near future.
