Best American Restaurants in South Street

I honestly think this may be the best restaurant in Philadelphia. Hyper seasonal dishes, executed perfectly. Thoughtful wine and cocktail list, amazing cheese board. Appetizers: don't miss riccota gnudi,corn soup, meatballs. Mains: Best chicken in town, ravioli are amazing as well. You can't go wrong with anything however. Desserts amazing as well including the donuts and the blondie skillet. Ambience perfect both indoors and in the garden. Top this off with the best hospitality and service in Philadelphia. If you're only going to eat at one restaurant in Philly, Talulas is the spot. We have been coming here for years and will continue.

This our new go to place conveniently located across Broad street from the Academy of Music and other theaters. The food is great and the service is awesome. We had a bit of a wait once seated but the manager made sure we were properly taken care of and comped us desert. All of the service staff are very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to our next meal at Loch Bar- Philly.

Butcher & Singer was an excellent experience in every regard. Walking in the place, originally a bank building constructed in 1927, set an impressive tone of an old-school steakhouse. First bites of the laminated biscuits, and we knew we were in for a treat! And that Butcher & Singer oven must be hot - our generously cut filets came out with a proper Maillard crust, so dry and intense I was initially concerned they were overcooked. But one slice revealed a perfect medium-rare red center and every flavor you can imagine in between. But the most outstanding aspect of the entire evening was the absolutely wonderful service…balanced, expert and delightful! (Hint: ask for Lindsey’s table!) Our next trip to Philly will definitely include a reservation at Butcher & Singer.
