Server was outstanding...He has been working at ATX Cocina for the majority of its existence. Margaritas are craft and simple...and delicous. Queso Fundido, Beef Cheeks. This place never disappoints.

We visit our daughter at school in Austin once a year, and we always make it a point to have dinner at La Popular. It has become a tradition for us, and by far, it’s our favorite spot in Austin. The food, atmosphere, and overall experience never disappoint. We look forward to coming back every year!

For my wife’s birthday, she wanted fresh fish ceviches and crudos. We got a recommendation from a friend for Este and it had fantastic reviews. Este absolutely lived up to all the hype, and the Tuna Tiradito was one of the best tuna crudo I’ve ever had. The ceviche and Hamachi Verde were also excellent, and for the main we had the Pescado Zarandeado. Half a Spanish sea bass blackened, with a dry rub of seasonings. It was cooked perfectly - moist and flaky. The star of dessert was the maracuya custard with the white chocolate pearls. Divine. The service (and cocktails) were just as wonderful as the food, and they left a happy birthday card at the table for my wife. It was a lovely experience all around, and we’ll definitely be back.

The flavor combinations are exciting on the page, then even better on the tongue. The ahi tuna and the potato with roe were just amazing. And the chips and dips…ya gotta get it! So crunchy and delish. We sat inside but the outside area looks really gorgeous.
