Definitely avoid the bar area, when dining, though. They have a TV over it which would be very distracting to try to eat near. I read about John's Food & Wine in Food & Wine Magazine and wanted to visit while I was in Chicago. I then saw a feature on CBS Mornings. So then I had to go! It was an amazing experience. The staff all are so energetic, kind, and just seem happy at what they are doing. We tried the fixed price menu of the chef's tasting and I highly recommend for a first-timer.
