Best Home Cooking Restaurants in Nauheim

We had a one-night layover in Frankfurt and wanted to try some authentic German food. After a little AI searching, we landed on Apfelweinwirtschaft Wagner, and it was a great choice. We were lucky to have reservations because the place was absolutely packed. The communal tables were full of locals having drinks and dinner, and the whole restaurant had a fun, lively, social atmosphere. You can tell this is the kind of place where regulars come to meet up with friends. Our waiter was incredible. At one point he even sat down with us and started asking where we were from, where we had been traveling, and what brought us to Frankfurt. He made the experience that much more memorable. We ordered the German sampler platter for four, which included pork knuckle, ribs and several other traditional items. We also tried the bratwurst and the ham-and-cheese-stuffed schnitzel. Everything we had was very good. One tip: don't ask for a beer! They will quickly let you know they don't serve it. Their specialty is traditional apple wine, which was actually very tasty and definitely worth trying. They also serve cocktails. If you're visiting Frankfurt and want a fun, authentic German dining experience rather than something touristy or fancy, I would highly recommend Apfelweinwirtschaft Wagner. Great food, great atmosphere and a really memorable night.
