Singapore’s locals are slowly coming round to Indian food. Often an afterthought in a city which enjoys a wealth of excellent pan-Asian restaurants, Khansama Tandoori Village in Kent Ridge’s Science Park is starting to change perceptions of Indian curry in the city. Science Park Drive might seem an unlikely spot for an excellent restaurant to hide, but it is a testament to the strength of the cooking at Khansama Tandoori Village that diners are flocking there from town anyway. Dear guests, please note that bookings taking place from Monday to Friday between 12:00 to 15:00 are not eligible for the $13.90 buffet.

• Indian • Farrer Park
Mustard is Singapore’s first and only Bengali and Punjabi restaurants, which is reason enough in itself to dine here. But then there’s the food, which is fresh, authentic, and makes a meal here absolutely essential. Some of our favourite dishes on the menu include the Punjabi chana masala, the Bengali doi dharos (lady’s finger cooked with raisins and yoghurt), or the Punjabi spiced eggplant roasted in a clay oven and then sautéed with onions and tomatoes. You’ll find Mustard on Race Course Road in Little India where it’s definitely a good idea to arrive having made a reservation in advance, as the Indian food here is some of the best in the area.
