Came here around 9:30 pm after a short walk around Pantheon and enjoyed a really lovely dinner and service from Kelly, who was very warm and accommodating. We ordered based off of Kelly's recommendations: the truffle carbonara pasta and the veal risotto both were excellent. I thought that the menu was very intentional and creative and slightly different than some of the other menus we saw during our trek through Italy. We especially appreciated sitting inside and getting a relaxed and calm environment to have dinner away from the craziness of the area.

I very much enjoyed my dinner at Tavern Urbana. For an appetizer we got the meat and cheese tower, definitely need a minimum of 2 people for that. The ricotta with the honey on top was absolutely amazing. It tasted almost as good as the homemade ricotta my Nonna makes. For primi I got the Burrata and Pistachio ravioli which I liked very much. While it didn’t have the most “explosive” flavor, it was subtle and tasty. My boyfriend got the pasta in the cheese wheel. Everyone in the restaurant paused to watch it get spun around and made. For only 6€ more to spin it around in the cheese wheel it was 100% worth it and they really did load it up. For my second I got the veal, this was my first time trying veal, the meat itself was cooked well and smothered in sauce but I just personally didn’t care for it just not my style but if you’re someone who likes veal I think you’d enjoy it. Lastly for dessert we shared a tiramisu which was absolutely phenomenal. Don’t be fooled by the lack of lady fingers in the appearance. There wasn’t a lot but boy were they SOAKED in coffee and that cream was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back to Tavern Urbana if I ever find myself back in Rome.

This restaurant was established less than a year ago and is not well known, yet. The chef takes pride in substituting ingredients for traditional Italian dishes. For example, I was served Cordon-Bleu that contained no chicken or pork, yet it was delicious. Worth the trip for a creative food experience.
