Best Modern European Restaurants in Herne Bay

We had a wonderful time at The Sportsman. The food is out of this world, the ambience is relaxed and friendly, service exemplary. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience (our third time there over the last few years). It’s a special place.

The new Autumn menu has arrived. Excellent choicees, delicious and well presented food in very pleasant seeing. Friendly and effecient service.

We enjoyed our meal very much. The menu was interesting but not "tricky" and the dishes were well presented. Service was attentive and our overall experience was very positive. The atmosphere was relaxed and belied the first class menu and dining experience on offer. We had received a courtesy call the day before, advising us that there would be live music in the "public bar" that evening but not until 9pm. It did start a little earlier but it was not intrusive and, in fact, was an agreeable background sound. A fellow with a very good voice and a local following, it seems. The Bridge is clearly a community "hub" with the addition of a first class restaurant. We would highly recommend and would happily return.

What an absolutely outstanding experience! I can genuinely say this is the best Caribbean restaurant I have eaten at, and I have been to many over the years. The food was exceptional – beautifully prepared, absolutely delicious and packed with authentic Caribbean flavours. Everything tasted fresh and was clearly cooked with real care and attention. The quality of the food was outstanding from start to finish. The service was just as impressive. The staff were warm, friendly and extremely attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without constantly interrupting us. We felt genuinely welcomed and very well looked after throughout our meal. What makes this restaurant even more impressive is the value for money. Considering the quality of the food, the service and the overall dining experience, I thought the prices were excellent. I have been fortunate enough to eat in Michelin-starred restaurants, and I would genuinely put this experience up there with some of them. Obviously, it is a very different style of dining, but in terms of the quality and enjoyment of the food, the attention to detail and how we were made to feel, it was exceptional. If you love Caribbean food, this restaurant is an absolute must. Even if Caribbean food isn’t normally your first choice, I would still recommend giving it a try. Delicious food, fantastic service, excellent value and a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I cannot recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning. A real gem and very deserving of five stars!
