Perfect dining experience in the heart of Philadelphia. Date night was a hit with the delicious soul food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere! Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the staff was attentive and welcoming. The restaurant is gorgeous and makes for a great dining experience. Definitely worth a visit!

We decided to try this restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner when we saw it listed in a magazine as best Italian food in South Jersey. So thrilled that we did because everything was delicious! I especially loved rigatoni vodka! We sat outside since the weather was nice and it was sort of noisy inside. Even the chair cushions were plush and super comfy! We’ll be going back often!

Jasmine was an amazing server. I brought my mom and daughter for lunch and she took amazing care of us. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. 10/10 would come again.

So I went to SOMO two nights in a row. The first night was a "First Date" and everything was GREAT. While it was a bit noisy, it was to be expected on a busy night during "Restaurant Week l". The second night that I came back to "SOMO", since I was alone, I sat at the bar and I had the pleasure of being served by Demetrius. Although he was UNBELIEVABLY busy, somehoe he still found the time to be personable and attentive. He elevated a normally pleasant experience into a truly exquisite and wonderful one. So much so that I have him a 30 percent tip. I will be back for the food, the ambience, and Demetrius. Thank you.

    This was my first time back since Vespers had undergone new Ownership/ Management and I must say I had an absolute great time. The service was great, the bartender is an absolute doll and the owner introduced himself to me and was very pleasant and welcoming. I’ve had many birthday experiences here but this one in 2025 was the best so far. I will definitely be back and I recommend anyone who desires a great “Turnt up”party brunch to book now.

    We went to Taste of SOUL to celebrate my dad's birthday, and had a wonderful experience there. :0) It was my mom and dad's first time there, and they really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and personal. The owner came to our table with a sweet and warm greeting, and our waitress was super sweet and personable. We will definitely dine there again.

    Ms. Nancy is awesome. My daughter and I met her during this first visit. Me. Nancy is very knowledgeable about food and health. She has also gone through great lengths to study her craft. I admire that. The staff treated us so well. We were given samples of drinks to try, too. We fell for the watermelon lemonade. (It’s a summer drink that hasn’t yet hit the menu). And I should’ve said this first, but the food is AWESOME! Ms. Nancy’s hot sauce is BOMB. My picky eater, 7 year old daughter loved her food too. She’s already planning for us to go back. To get an idea of what we had: fried chicken, fries, green beans, potato salad, mac & cheese, red velvet cake, and chocolate mousse cake. Needless to say, we left FULL. We took our dessert to go and had a great time reliving our visit at home. Ok, this review is long enough. If you’re thinking about visiting this place, don’t think twice. Go!
