I have visited Xiquet several times over the years, and the food has consistently been exceptional. A Michelin-starred dining experience is very different from a conventional restaurant experience. Proteins and vegetables take center stage throughout most of the courses, while the paella is the only dish that features a significant amount of carbohydrates. The progression of the meal feels carefully calculated, allowing guests to reach the final course without feeling overly full or fatigued. In fact, even my 10-year-old daughter was able to enjoy and nearly finish every dish, with just a little help from her dad, of course. We were celebrating my wife's birthday, and she had an absolutely wonderful time. The atmosphere has improved significantly since my first visits. The service was impeccable, and the attention to detail was evident in everything from the décor to the tableware and presentation. The dining room feels more polished and elegant than ever. One thing that has always impressed me about Xiquet, and continues to do so, is its wine program. The list is thoughtfully curated and highlights many small, boutique Spanish wineries.
