$$$$ • Traditional French • Ridgefield
After returning from France, we were delighted to come back to Brasserie St Germain in Ridgefield—and it once again reminded us why we love this restaurant so much.
We started with a beautiful Sancerre from our home region and a classic Kir, a lovely tribute to Burgundy and to Félix Kir, the former mayor of Dijon.
The food was outstanding. The seared foie gras was perfectly prepared, and the steak frites with cognac sauce on the side was exceptional—honestly, better than some we enjoyed in Paris, including at the famous Brasserie Lipp. The chilled lobster mayonnaise was equally delicious, fresh and beautifully presented.
But what makes Brasserie St Germain truly special is the whole experience. Franck, Virginie, and their team offer that rare combination of excellent food, genuine warmth, and impeccable hospitality. You feel welcomed rather than simply served.
After eating our way through France, we came home with high expectations—and Brasserie St Germain exceeded them.
A wonderful French restaurant in the heart of Ridgefield. We will definitely be back!
