The food is not only excellent the choices are creative and so tasty. The menu is easy to navigate.
Douzo is the best value and best Japanese food in Boston and i have been to many Japanese restaurants!
Excellent food and great service! I would go back again. Highly recommend!
Perfect experience. The food was great and there was a lot of options, including many vegan choices. The staff was very friendly and professionnal. Thanks!
Douzo seems to lack proper seating for parties of 5. Our choices were either a booth (too small) or two small tables pushed together that would normally seat 4 (they added a 5th chair to the end of the table). Since our setup was in a high traffic area, our chairs were bumped a few times by waitstaff and other patrons. Douzo should really accommodate for parties of 5+, especially since we had reservations for 5pm on a Saturday night, which is very early for dinner service and the restaurant was not even close to being busy yet.
I celebrated my birthday in this restaurant, and the environment is my style. All of the food I choose are very delicious.
Great food, extremely fresh and flavorful, the presentation is colorful, appetizing and inventive. Our first time for dinner this past Friday night will be the start of many more dinners for us to come in the future. Lovely dining experience.
We come here whenever we are in Boston - excellent sushi
The service staff is so gracious and always ready to make your dining experience special.
Bravo! Outstanding food and service Can't wait to make a return trip.
Came here on an anniversary date, and I can say that it was easily one of the best meals I have ever had.
The restaurant itself was clean and beautiful. Our server was very friendly and helpful.
The A5 wagyu was phenomenal, the miso was the best I've had to date and the maki rolls were as delicious as they were beautiful.
10/10, Would highly recommend!
The food was sooo good and it was so nice inside! Would definitely go again!
My boyfriend and I made reservations for Valentine’s Day at Douzo, and I am so glad that we did! I was handed a rose upon entering from a friendly and smiling face. The tables were very close together, but that is my only complaint. Our waitress was lovely and the service was prompt. The ambiance was fantastic and the food was the best component of our night. Hands-down the best sushi I have had in a long time.
Lovely Valentine’s Day dinner. The rose for each gal in our group was a nice and welcome touch. Very attentive staff and the meal and desserts were delicious ❤️
This place is so good. Been so many times ... not sure what my favorite is. I have several
Wonderful food and service at a great price!
Fantastic from start to finish!
My husband, a friend and I enjoyed another fine pre-theater meal at Douzo on Saturday evening. As usual, the food was excellent and the service was friendly but not obtrusive, attentive and efficient. We look forward to returning again soon.
Our favorite sushi restaurant, food is consistently good. The efficiency in the process in which they want to turn over the table can make the meal feel a bit rushed at times.
Douzo is my fav! ❤️
Excellent food. We have been there many times. Still good. But the service is starting to decline. Waitresses are less attentive. They do not bring what you ordered.
Delicious restaurant for Japanese flair. Food was delivered quickly and hot. Our waitress was accommodating, personable, and so attentive. Great at handling food allergies and restrictions. Our go to place for sushi in Boston.
One of our favorite places! Always a great experience here!
Always a pleasure to eat here. It's our go-to place in Boston for sushi. We arrived 90 minutes early and the restaurant accommodated us to dine earlier than expected.
Great night. Service and food fantastic.
Great food, service and ambiance. A little pricey, but worth it. Bathrooms needed attention but everything else was awesome.
Great ambience and service for fine dining
The Sushi and food quality was very good and tasty. The miso soup was great. We had two orders of sushi, tuna and salmon. Both were very fresh. We had a couple of special rolls (Spider Roll with soft shelled crab, and Mt Fuji Roll), very tasty, high price and only 4 or 5 pieces depending on the type of role. We also had the vegi gyoza.
As far as the atmosphere goes, all of the two-person tables are side by side in a row, so you are seated very close to others. The alternative is a table on the side which was right near the stairs, in a high traffic area. The service was overly attentive and rushed. They constantly came around, and took your plate as soon as you put your chopsticks down on your last bite. My suggestion is order you food in stages, or you will have it too close together and be done with what should be a nice relaxing dinner in less than an hour. Overall very good food, but not the place to go if you want to relax and take your time savoring your dinner.
Excellent innovative dishes and great sushi. Service was attentive.
The food here never disappoints! We got the shishito peppers, and they are the best here. Nice kick to the sauce and plenty for the three of us to share. The Douzo Special Rolls were excellent too! My daughter especially enjoyed the Spider Rolls.
The dishes were smaller than we expected and priced too high. The flavors and combination did meet our expectations. I would thought the service will make up for the food but it’s actually worse. Our server seemed apathetic, lacking in friendliness and forgot our order even with a handheld electronic ordering device. With that said we weren’t impressed enough to come back any time soon. Being an addict of Japanese cuisine I can still skip this place for sure.
Lovely long pre-Christmas lunch with my partner and my son; the food was beautiful and tasty; the service was discretely present but pressure-free. A memorable afternoon made possible by a previously unknown venue to which I will return.
Excellent traditional Japanese choices with some modern influence. Wide array of appetizers and entrees, it's easy to find something that you will like The sushi platter was a great value, with very good pieces.
Excellent meal, great service
Amazing food! We ordered the sweet corn as an appetizer and it was delicious and then had a milennium roll and phoenix roll!
Sushi was fresh and well prepared. Service was slow as it was all hand rolled per order. Tables close together and crowded. Overall good restaurant and we will return.
Service was great, but they had us so close to another party that I felt we were on a double date. It was a bit awkward. For the price, the food wasn’t amazing. Beautiful place though.
