    For large parties we do our Chef's Tasting Menu, a prix fixe family style meal that consists of a great selection from our seasonal menu of the day! The menu is designed, with any dietary restrictions of the group (vegan/pescatarian/dairy-free/gluten-free/allergies, none are a problem). It's a great experience for large groups, takes the pressure off of ordering & no one goes home hungry. Tapas: multiple tapas dishes picked from our daily menu & all scaled to the size of your group Raciones: larger, more protein forward, similar to entree style plates to be shared amongst your group Paella: selection of our made-to-order paellas Ducles: a sampler of our in-house desserts Pricing is $64/person, which does not include drinks or gratuity.

    Great place for tapas. The plates are small, so order a few at least. Try the steak if you're a carnivore.

    Amazing!! The cocktails were delicious and the tapas and Paella was great. Waitstaff greeted us and asked if we had dined there before! Because the Paella has a longer prep time. We were there to see a show at the beautiful Paramount Theatre so she told us to order asap.. highly recommend!!

    This was our first time. We love tapas and it did not disappoint. The staff was wonderful. Our server was incredible. He knew the wine, food and made the right suggestions. He was aware of our timing for the show and made sure our order was in and out on time. He was great. Highly recommend. Oakland rocks.

    Delicious pork shoulder and upside-down cherry tart for dessert. Solid service. Busy enough on a Monday night... paellas are amazing. I love this place!

    Great food, service, and ambience. Perfect location for dinner before a Fox Theatre concert. Craft cocktails were really good and the wine list is interesting, intelligent, and not hideously over-priced. Try the delicious '21 Mathis Rosé with anything off the tapas menu! Our table stuck with the shared small plates. But will be back to try the paella.

    We were whisked into the dining room as soon as we arrived to meet the rest of our party. The service was top notch and very helpful. The food was just right with drinks to chat with friends. Overall a wonderful time was had at Duende.

    The food is excellent and very tasty. The service was slow and the wait staff didn’t remember some of our drinks order. We were going to the Symphony and told the server, but we almost did not have dessert because the service was running late.

    We love Duende and have eaten there many times. Service, food and ambiance are always great. This particular night they were slammed due to a show at the Fox Theatre and the bar was backed up. We received our appetizers before our cocktails — we had actually finished our appetizers when they arrived. Same experience for wine we ordered to have with dinner. They were obviously not staffed properly. Which is quite common right now due to staffing shortages. But they were very apologetic, brought us a glass of sparkling and comped our drinks. Our server was great and handled the situation very well. How a restaurant handles these type of situations says so much! I hope they can find more good people to add to their team — seems like a fun place to work. We highly recommend Duende.

    Food was excellent. Brussel Sprouts may have been the best we have ever eaten! Entrees were great. We had the cookie plate for dessert. Perfect amount to solve the sugar craving. Margaritas very well done. Service, first class. Loved the decor.

    The food was very good, However the high ceilings contributed to a noise level so high, at least until the theater crowd vacated, that will make me think about going back.

    Duende is a lively downtown spot near the FOX where there was a performance the night I was at the restaurant. The food is very good and cocktails are imaginative and flavorful. It's so good to have this fine restaurant in Uptown Oakland.

    Our dinner was sooooo delicious! We had most of the small plates, and our server created a multi course meal for us. Great service and tasty cocktails enhanced the meal even more!

    Frankly, I’m over the reclaimed wood look. This restaurant feels like a horse barn. Zero style, dark, and yes, booths like horse stalls. Service: felt like I was at Denny’s. Fine. Cordial per job description. No personality. Food: predictable ( roasted Brussels sprouts anyone) and nothing where you would say, “oh I’m coming back for that!”

    Every single item I ordered from the Tapas to the paella were some of the best food I and my party had in a long time. The Brussels sprouts were hands down the highlight of the night. Can’t wait to show this place off to others.

    Great choice in Uptown. Terrific menu of small plates and mains, nice cocktail menu, attentive service (especially if you are going to a show nearby). Food and drink delivery was a bit slow, but nothing to get too worked up about.

    I haven't been here in years. Our server was friendly and helpful. My friend's burger was undercooked after making a specific request. The server and kitchen righted the mistake. Overall, not a bad experience and food. I liked my cocktail. A good option in the area for a Monday. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

    I thought the atmosphere was really perfect for a dinner with my grown daughter and her significant other. The vaccine/ID card check I felt was annoying and unnecessary. My husband had a cocktail as did the significant other. Both cocktails were superb and interesting! The food was excellent. Delicious Brussel sprouts, a lovely paella, terrific chocolate cake. Service was also wonderful. I highly recommend and would go again in a heartbeat.

    We only wanted Tapas so missed eating the always excellent paella. The smoked swordfish was fantastic. Service was friendly and attentive with lovely explanations of the food.
