With its most recent refurbishment Dukes can now properly call itself a venue with two bars, three private events spaces, a grill restaurant, excellent smoking facilities, canalside terrace and balcony overlooking the canal basin. Dukes continued appeal relies on its ability to transform from a relaxed, family friendly environment by day to a vibrant and stylish bar and grill by night.
The space has been extended and refurbished since its opening in 1991 and inside its interior combines contemporary features and its trademark antique furniture.

Arrived by taxi and found it hard to find the entrance! Had reserved and shown to table at the rear, plenty of space as only a third full. Service good if erratic and food ranged from excellent for the sea bass to poor for the tasteless jerk chicken burger. Portions large and no room for desserts . Good value and friendly staff.
Love the ambience sitting out on a warm day. Very attractive outside setting. Airy inside too.
Staff were very helpful and chatty. The eating areas and ladies were spotless. The food was hot and very tasty. I loved my French fancy cocktail. Thank you for making my birthday so special x
Friendly staff, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed.
I felt it was good, but the staff weren't very attentive.
It was mediocre - nothing bad but nothing great either….. had to ask twice to get infra red heater turned off, fries didn’t arrive with rest of order, pizza was excellent though
Gorgeous feed and a beautiful setting with my favourite girl, Miss P.
Slow service for food tables outside. Host was lovely.
I would definitely recommend dukes 92. The food is delicious and fresh. I have never had a bad meal
everything was perfect from the service to the food ....well done Dukes 92 will be back soon
The food wasnt greatly presented and it wasnt very impressive. The bun of my burguer was a bit stale and the breaded chicken a bit burned. Then, the group sitting next to us was smoking so didnt not enjoyed my clothes getting smelly neither breathing that intoxicating air. Would reccomend you turn your terrace to non smoking for the health of everyone
We ordered some starters but the mains came out first within 5 minutes.
I asked for them to be taken back so we could eat the starter first.
When we got them back they had been put on the hot plate and had a dry skin over everything 🙄.
Always a great time at Dukes the service and the food was great as per usual.
Vibrant atmosphere great food friendly staff
Quality night out!!
Had a great time at Dukes 92 yesterday. The table was booked for 2 hours but we were able to be seated when we turned up early and stayed until 15 minutes before the table was needed again.
All staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We will definitely be returning.
Great place to come for afternoon meal and drinks. Great atmosphere and a quick and friendly service. Will be sure to return
Good table service the food was lovely and worth every penny.
Great. night out for end of work night! good food and service.
Dukes is my fav outdoor place to eat. Ideally in the sun, sadly not the other night. Nonetheless they have made the most of both Dukes and it’s sister restaurants covered outdoor space. Sensible food good drinks and great service.
Booked an initial table for 6 inside anticipating bad weather but moved outside to the covered area where we sat until those that had booked arrived. I didn't catch the girls name but the host sitting guests was really good... friendly and had a laugh with our group. Other staff were also friendly and efficient. Good food, prices in line with the rest of town. Good central location for meets.
Brilliant food lovley place great staff
Quick service, great food and good value, would 100% recommend.
This restaurant looked absolutely fantastic from the outside, once we entered it looked even better. When we got seated I explained I was Coeliac, then a manager came over to explain they only had one thing available for me to eat which was extremely disappointing. Due to this they very kindly gave me and my partner a free drink but we didn’t eat in which upset us as we were so excited to eat here.
The drinks order took a while. The food however was lovely.
Bit disappointed with the service, we ordered on the app our meals arrived before our drinks , and I felt the portions were small , had to ask for cutlery and napkins as non offered with the starters.
The service and food were outstanding. Even though we went with out 2 young daughters we didn’t feel out of place.
The food came and it was wrong when we told the waitress she did not apologise and seemed quite put out that we mentioned the food was wrong.
Gorgeous Sunday lunch out without the kids, though I’m sure they would have enjoyed it too. Really nice tasty meal, awesome gravy and roasties to die for 😊
Music way way too loud. In fact as a dr I’d say it was dangerous. Impossible to have gentle conversation with girls. Whilst food was good I will not return unless volume is reduced to sensible, balanced and calm levels
Cocktails were amazing, food was gorgeous and we were well looked after
Service was great but sadly food was not great. Burger was ok, steak was over cooked and chewy when medium was requested. Chocolate desert was like a pot melt in the middle chocolate desert from M&S and even that was over cooked to the degree that the middle was could and the chocoholic left 25% as they couldn’t be bothered chewing any more. Usually everything is great so can only presume to be problems related to the silly covid pingdemic.
Great place went with the family lots of options for everybody, 10/10
Had a really lovely time, good food nice staff great atmosphere
Staff was friendly and the drinks came out quickly. The overall vibe of Dukes was pleasant.
The castle field board was amazing! Cocktails fab too!! French fancy was my favourite
It was very busy and loud, tables close together so it felt a bit crowded. Good energy tho
Superb food, fantastic setting and a really great experience. Would recommend the experience of this restaurant to anyone looking for a good afternoon/ evening out with friends and family
All round a great experience - location, ambience, customer service, food & drink. Will go back when next in Manchester.
The food and location was enjoyable. Staff were too busy to give people eating the necessary attention. Using their carpark proved problematic by not being given the correct information by door staff.
We were met at the door by a rather rude male member of staff, no pleasantries, no small talk, barely a hello. When we arrived at our table outside he simply pointed at it without speaking a word. He never explained the QRcode contactless ordering and left us to our own devices. The table was visibly dirty and we had to ask a waitress to clean it for us.
However the food was great when delivered the cocktails were lovely too and the chap serving the food was also polite despite being busy. The ambiance was spot on and music choice also perfect.
Some work on your staff and it will be an awesome place!
