Whether you simply want to relax with a glass of wine or enjoy dinner from our ever-changing menu, we offer a warm, inviting atmosphere with friendly service.
THis is one of my most avorite places to dine in the Upper Valley. Consistently great food, good service and and great atmosphere. A place or a good drink at the bar too.
Always a treat, I love the mussels in the Thai coconut curry. This a well run restaurant, the owner Skip is always there and sets the culture as a very professional operation.
We will return.
From the moment we entered we were greeted warmly. Our waitress, Tara, was a pleasure. She brought us the best bread with seasoned oil. We started with the truffle fries, which was a cone of delectable julienned potatoes. I enjoyed a glass of a reserve sangiovese wine with dinner. Both meals were outstanding, salmon and veal. A great experience and we will definitely return.
Delicious upscale dinner, high quality selections; reasonably priced; professional, friendly staff; great atmosphere
Everything, as always, was outstanding - the food, the service, the ambiance, Skip & Jane! My favorite place to dine in the Upper Valley!
Nice little bistro with wonderful staff. The fog and blue cheese appetizer was to die for. The mussels well cooked and presented. Truffle fries - yum! Very impressed with the menu and attention to detail. I was so surprised by the low bill, I thought there was a mistake (mind you - I’m used to DC prices). Will most definitely be back.
Always a great evening at Elixir................................................................................D
Elixir never disappoints. Skip and Jane have created a relaxing, up-scale yet comfortable place for people who enjoy good dining to have a great experience.
The food and service are always outstanding at Elixir!
Great restaurant with a fun atmosphere. The food is consistently great and lots of good choices!
Have eaten many times at Elixir before heading to a show at Northern Stage. Makes for a great evening. Food is always excellent and their "elixirs" are creative and affordable! The owner has always been there to greet people which adds so much to an always wonderful experience.
Food was perfect. House salad great and veal wonderful. Catered to our special dietary requirements. Wonderful!!
Elixir, once again, exceeded our expectations. The menu was a delightful mix of our classic favorites and some new selections. The Vegetarian Risotto was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The service was also exceptional. Tara anticipated our needs from beginning to end. We will be back very soon!
I had the wonderful Truffle Fries followed by a Caesar Salad and a delicious Sea Scallops Special with a French Chardonnay. I highly recommend these choices, they were very good. Elixir continues to provide an excellent dining experience in downtown White River Junction, VT.
My husband and I have been going to Elixir since they have opened. We’re in the area twice a year when we visit Harpoon events and just love ending our stay at Elixir!
Great drink menu and food was so tasty.
Skip and his people are wonderful. Our favorite place within hundreds of miles.
A favorite destination every year—the owner’s presence is always noticed!!! Never take the cocoa fisted filet off the menu!
The dinners are always delicious, with specials changing all the time. Portion sizes look small at first, but they actually are perfect!
Our waiter was outstanding! My mom has some food issues (acid reflux) and he communicated these perfectly to the kitchen (who was also accommodating!). Food was delicious, well presented and VERY reasonably priced. Thank you!
The food was excellent, with really interesting flavors, and the server was friendly and very competent. The menu is limited (easily visible online, so you can look and see if there are options you'll like), but we each found an entree we enjoyed very much (shrimp/filet mignon). Portions are good but not huge, and prices are a little high for Vermont (more than we usually spend), but not unreasonable. Ambiance is fine, though kept a little chillier than we like. Great experience overall!
Really a pleasure to return to Elixir. We used to live in the area and I was happy to see this is still great.
Elixir has a solid and reasonably priced drink assortment alongside a focused, tasty menu. I had the rotating vegetarian risotto and was not disappointed! The old freight house venue has a laid back vibe to go along with its history tied to the railroad.
Skip and Jane run a great place. Staff take pride, and it shows.
Good food, attentive staff. Always a home run. We find Elixir a great pre theater experience
Food is good and like the owner visits the tables.
A nice restaurant with a limited but varied menu. Lots of reasonably priced wines. A good value.
I was shocked that I could find this excellent restaurant in the middle of Vermont. Really enjoyed the fig cheese and bacon appetizer, the curry mussels, and the lemon veal. Very impressive!
Great place to eat. Bar tender recommended the salmon and it was fantastic. Drinks were also good
Fun place and the mussels were terrific.
The go-to pre show dining spot for the Northern Theatre.
Excellent meal, great service, delicious wine.
Wife and I and two friends enjoyed dinner very much
Awesome gem where for a very reasonable price you get an impeccable meal with wonderful service! Definitely ask Skip to recommend the right wine for your meal to get a great pairing.
Jane and Skip's commitment to excellence has resulted in consistent success. We had a terrific meal, and a great evening with family friends.
Perfect as always! Wish we could just live there...😉
Exceptional food with just the right portion size. The salmon was fantastic! Our server could not have been better, she was timely but we never felt hurried. She was knowledgeable about the wine and made great suggestions for entrees.
Beautiful ambience, excellent knowledgeable service, and superb food presentation and flavor.
This is a family run business, and it’s run really well. The service is pleasant, the atmosphere cozy, the bar nice if you only want a drink, and the owners are there making sure it works. Food, wine, drinks all very fairly priced, good value. This is our second visit, hardly our last. A definite must if you’re in the area. There is a base menu and then specials; so for example, we had the vegetarian risotto. We’re not vegetarians but it was really tasty, rice perfectly done, served hot from the kitchen. My partner had the petite filets, done to perfection. Nice desserts but we controlled ourselves, this time. :-)
