Best Comfort Food Restaurants in London

Our choice for last night in London was a very pleasant experience Food was great, ambience nice and service exceptional

We booked BBR after having not been there for many years and it didn't disappoint. In fact, it was much better than I remembered it. The eclectic all-booth dining room is iconic in Soho. The atmosphere is vibrant without being overwhelming. The staff and service was impeccable: formal but more on the friendly and relaxed end than stuffy. We felt well cared for without being interrupted. My wife of course loves pressing the button for champagne and the trolley arrived forthwith. I opted for the coldest martini at -22 degrees. The menu is traditional and we both enjoyed the Pelmeni the followed up with the chicken and champagne pie for her and the cottage pie for me. Both were delicious. We accompanied our food with a Bordeaux from a selection on the wine list that has something for most tastes and wallets. There were several options I probably would have enjoyed. Although our eyes wanted to, our stomachs declined dessert. I guess we'll have to return soon to try one. A thoroughly lovely evening. We were very impressed with the experience.

Excellent. Might just be the best pie I've ever had. Efficient and friendly service. A great spot for a filling meal before a show at the Palladium. We will be back to try the sausages next time we're in town. Thank you!
