Best Family Style Restaurants in South Barrington

Food is always delicious and the cocktail selection is amazing! Our server Katie wax exceptional!! And, the Caprese tableside service so worth it! Lago never disappoints!

Definately a "come back" restaurant. The restaurant has an elegand decore. The Antipasti we Ordered - Cast Iron Focaccia. Uotstanding. Primi was Carbonara in a Jasr. Very taste however the pasta could have cooked a little more. Chicken Vesuvio was on the special menu which I ordered but subsituted Salmon for the chicken. My wife ordered the Ossobuco alla Milannase both of which were some of the best we have ever eaten along with the Pumpkin Cheesecake. The wait staff was very attentive, especially Cara our server. She made excellent recommendations and answered any and all questions. She is a definate asset to the organization. She get 10 out of " 5 Stars".

Maggianos is my family's favorite place to celebrate any special occasion. We always do the family style menu. You simply cannot get a better dinner, with so much food anywhere else. Our server Nick was the best! Very accommodating, timed our courses out perfectly, and made my daughter's graduation dinner unforgettable. The host's were very welcoming upon arrival, extremely professional, and the decor and cleanliness is always immaculate. They really care about service, and I appreciate the fact that the management is always visible, and constantly making table visits to ensure everything is perfect.

Aliano’s Ristorante made my dad’s 82nd birthday dinner absolutely unforgettable! We came with a party of seven, and from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. Our waiter was fantastic. He was attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. We brought in our own birthday cake, and he happily stored it in the refrigerator until we were ready, even providing a candle so everything was perfect when it was time to celebrate. Those thoughtful touches made the evening extra special. The food was outstanding across the board. On our server’s recommendation, we started with the family-style salad, which was fresh, delicious, and more than enough for everyone to enjoy. My husband and Dad both loved the tortellini, I thoroughly enjoyed the risotto of the day, my nieces raved about both the pesto gnocchi and ravioli, my brother said his pizza was excellent, and my mom’s chicken piccata was perfectly prepared. We finished the evening with cannolis that were absolutely delicious. Between the exceptional service, outstanding food, and warm atmosphere, Aliano’s helped turn a family dinner into a wonderful birthday celebration we’ll all remember. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food and genuine hospitality, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!
