Best Gluten Free Restaurants in Jersey City

This was my first dining experience at Senza Gluten and I could not have been more pleased. As someone who must maintain a gluten free lifestyle, it was so refreshing to be confident that anything I ordered would be safe. My friend, who doesn’t have any food allergies, ordered the rigatoni with mushrooms, speck, in a cream sauce. I had a bite and it was delicious. She said it was one of the best pasta dishes she’s had, which is saying a lot because gluten free pasta can be quite the disappointment. I went for the eggplant parmigiana. Our server warned me that it was a small appetizer portion, but that was fine with me because I needed to save room for dessert :) The eggplant was amazing- not bitter, tender but not mushy, and the sauce was incredible. I cook a lot at home, and eggplant parm is labor intensive to do well, so I was extremely happy to have such a treat. We shared the tiramisu. Again, labor intensive to make at home, so the perfect ending to our dining experience. I never realized how much I dread eating out because I hate having to be “that diner” who questions everything, asks for modifications, and confirms three times that the food I order will be safe. Senza Gluten took all that stress away, and for a wonderful 90 minutes, reminded me what a “normal” restaurant experience feels like.

Such a great surprise in jersey city. Great drinks, amazing food and our server was super nice. We took the cucumber salad which is a must must must, the beef buns which were amazing and the drunken noodles which were delicious. Definitely going back for more.
