Myself and my friend are doing a Sunday Lunch tasting once a month. We have visited about 15 places locally. This one has gone to the top of our list. It was absolutely delicious. Everything about the roast was just lovely. Great staff!

Delicious food as always both with unlimited veg/Yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets! Staff were lovely with children. Our waiter Ryan took excellent care of our table

We had a lovely dinner. It was very reasonably priced which we were surprised about given the food quality and level of service. The bar and restaurant are lovely. Was glad I was there early enough to explore the walls without getting in diners way. We had good service the whole way through our meal. It was prompt and yet did not feel rushed. We had a delicious cocktail when we arrived. The steak tartare starter could have used slightly more seasoning but was delicious. The meat quality was excellent. We then shared the butchers block. Gorgeous cauliflower cheese and gravy and very high quality meat. We both enjoyed it very much. The only reason we did not give five star is we felt it was a mistake to have cold plates as it cooled the food down quickly and while the tartare was slightly under seasoned the pork belly was very salty. It was all still delicious and we had no issue finishing it all. It was a large meal for the price and we were stuffed at the end in a good way. Thank you!

My wife and I had the 3-course lunch set, and we were thoroughly impressed. For the starters, I chose the pumpkin soup, which was absolutely delicious. The addition of sour cream gave it a subtle tanginess that made the soup feel light and refreshing rather than overly rich. My wife had the pig head croquette, which was equally impressive. The flavours were complex and well-developed, and the sauce complemented the croquette perfectly. For the mains, I had the chicken, which was cooked to perfection. Both the flavour and texture were excellent, with the meat remaining juicy and tender. My wife ordered the fried cod. At first glance, it looked a bit like a traditional fish and chips dish, but the sauce elevated it to another level by adding depth and balance to the fish. I would also highly recommend adding the wine pairing. Every wine was thoughtfully selected and paired beautifully with the food, enhancing the flavours of each course and making the overall dining experience even more enjoyable. However, the most memorable dish of the meal was the dessert: the chocolate éclair. It was packed with rich chocolate flavour, yet it was not overly sweet or heavy. It was the perfect way to end an excellent lunch. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with well-executed dishes, balanced flavours, and excellent wine pairings. We would happily return.

    Absolutely beautiful roast dinner, the food is outstanding. Chicken was beautifully moist and my partner said it was the best beef he’s ever tasted, we also overheard the lady on the next table to us say exactly the same. Good selection of extremely tasty vegetables along with gravy, you have an amazing Chef and team in the kitchen 🤩 the menu has a good selection of alternatives if you don’t want traditional Sunday roast. The waiting staff are all very welcoming, polite and courteous, perfect service. Can’t describe this visit and other visits before as nothing less than perfection 👌🏼 Well done to your team. Can’t wait to come back.
