THE WOODSMAN IS A TRULY BRITISH RESTAURANTWe use the best British ingredients, all sourced as sustainably as possible.We love using Wild food, and harvest much of it ourselves. All the meat on our menus is “nose to tail” so the menu is ever changing, and we waste nothing. We even employ our own head ranger to keep the deer herds on the land we manage under control, and have our own deer larder in the Cotswolds where this amazing product is processed.Our fish comes from day boats in Cornwall.We work with the seasons, ensuring the very best truly local veg is with us the day after its picked. Our food is cooked over wood from local plantations, and charcoal coppiced less than 20 miles away.We know the story of everything on the menu.Our lovely staff are extremely well informed, so, do ask questions on anything you’re not sure of.We hope you love this restaurant as much as we do and keep coming back.

    Staying at The Stag was a joy, the staff were very welcoming and attentive and the Sunday roast that myself and my wife had were cooked to perfection. My wife had chicken and I had the beef which I asked to be well done and it was spot on without being tough in any way. I would highly recommend.

    We visited for my husbands birthday. We love in the local village but this was his first time visiting. The food was amazing! The staff were so friendly and attentive. We will be back!

    The food was excellently prepared. The service was excellent by friendly, young staff. We sat outside with a lovely view of the duck pond and ducks. A shame that the owner of the house across the road decided to noisily strim his large garden.

    Had a great meal out for my birthday. The staff were really friendly and attentive from the start, always smiling when serving. The variety of food on offer was vast, so much so that I struggled for a while to pick my starter. The value was amazing, 6 of us all had 3 courses + a couple drinks each and it was £175 overall, and trust me, the food was more than worth it. Will definitely be returning, thanks guys! 😊

    Pleasantly exceeded expectations. Friendly front of house and service. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Loved the mixing and sharing of flavours with tapas style servings. Good wine offer. All made for an extremely enjoyable and leisurely birthday lunch. A great country pub find. Will be back.
