Great restaurant. we were running late because of traffic for the reservation. We needed to make the 730 show. They were wonderful to us. We had a great meal. The owner was the sweetest man. Our waiter Ori was thoughtful and kind and made sure we got out of the restaurant on time. Our credit card had been stolen earlier in the day so there was an issue with it. They were compassionate and not condescending. Of course we were able to fix the issue immediately, but it was their attitude while they waited. That was wonderful. We would definitely go back anytime.

Butcher & Singer was an excellent experience in every regard. Walking in the place, originally a bank building constructed in 1927, set an impressive tone of an old-school steakhouse. First bites of the laminated biscuits, and we knew we were in for a treat! And that Butcher & Singer oven must be hot - our generously cut filets came out with a proper Maillard crust, so dry and intense I was initially concerned they were overcooked. But one slice revealed a perfect medium-rare red center and every flavor you can imagine in between. But the most outstanding aspect of the entire evening was the absolutely wonderful service…balanced, expert and delightful! (Hint: ask for Lindsey’s table!) Our next trip to Philly will definitely include a reservation at Butcher & Singer.

Outstanding food. We had the oyster mushrooms, cauliflower with a lemon aioli, and scallops over risotto. So very delicious. Cocktail menu is very creative. Recommend this restaurant. On a side note, they have better lighting in the bathroom. It used to be very dark.
