- SSusannahJacksonville / Northeast Florida •3 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoMy husband and I (from Thomson) along with our longtime best friends (from Washington) dined at Abel Brown for the first time last night. From the time we walked into this very warm and inviting restaurant to the time we left our experience exceeded our expectations. The hosts were very friendly. The restaurant had a very cozy and warm feeling when you walk in. Love the art, the dark walls and the lovely light fixtures which all created the cozy vibe that was elevated. Also to note the chairs were comfortable. Our server was incredible and very knowledgeable assisting with questions and recommendations. She was fantastic and communicative through our dining experience. The food though- an incredible menu and at a very fair price for the love that goes into the food. My husband and I started with the Oysters Rockefeller, I had the tomato and Barata salad and my husband had the Beet Salad. All were delicious but the oysters stole the show for me for the starters. For the main dishes I had the crab stuffed flounder and my husband had the filet. The filet was perfectly seasoned and cooked MR and was amazing. The flounder was exceptional as well. Our friends had the chicken and the halibut entrees and both loved their choices. For dessert we shared the Key Lime Alaska which was better than anything we had in the Keys. Highly recommend Abel Brown! My husband and I will definitely be back and sit at the bar for some small plates and more oysters very soon! We love a good bar seat when it’s the two of us and they noticeably had a great bar!More infoAbel Brown$$$$• Southern• West Augusta•4.9
